겨울철 재배환경이 장미 절화 품질과 수명에 미치는 영향 Effect of the Greenhouse Environment on Cut Flower Quality and Vase Life of Cut Roses during the Winter Season

겨울철 재배환경이 절화장미 품질과 수명에 미치는 영향을 분석하기 위해 ‘Antique Curl’과 ‘Beast’를 대상으로 절화 품질 과 수명을 조사하였다. 적산광량은 2월에 유의적으로 가장 높 았던 반면 시설 내 평균 기온과 배지온도는 적산광량과 달리 12월에 가장 높았다. 평균 상대습도는 2월에 가장 낮았지만 VPD는 가장 높았다. 한편 절화 품질과 수명에 대한 겨울철 재배환경의 영향은 동일하게 나타나지 않았다. 두 품종 모두 유의적으로 2월에 건물중이 가장 높았으나 절화수명은 12월 에 가장 길었고 ‘Antique Curl’과 ‘Beast’ 모두 12월 절화수명이 1월 보다 2배 이상 더 길게 나타났다. 생체중, 엽수, SPAD, 꽃 잎 수 등 품질은 재배환경의 영향을 거의 받지 않았던 반면 1월의 짧은 절화수명 특성은 1월달 낮은 시설 기온과 연관이 있는 것으로 해석되었다(r = 0.5***). 시설 내 보광을 통해 부적 절한 광 환경이 해소되어 겨울철 절화장미 품질의 균일성은 나타났지만 절화 수명 향상 효과는 없었다.

To study the effect of the greenhouse environment on cut flower quality and vase life of cut roses during the winter season, we investigated the cut flower quality of two cut rose cultivars, ‘Antique Curl’ and ‘Beast’. Integrated light irradiation was significantly higher in February, whereas the monthly mean air temperature and root-zone temperature were the highest in December. Relative humidity showed the lowest value in February and corresponded with the highest vapor pressure deficit. On the other hand, the effect of the greenhouse environment on the cut flower quality of cut roses was different from the vase life of cut roses. Although the dry weight of cut flowers of both cultivars was the greatest in February, the vase life of both cultivars was significantly higher in December followed by February. The vase life was approximately two times higher in December than that in January. This decrease was interpreted to be due to the relatively low temperature of cultivation (r = 0.5***) in January, particularly because cut flower quality, such as fresh weight, number of leaves, SPAD, and number of petals were rarely affected by the greenhouse environment. Uniformity in cut flower quality was achieved using supplemental lighting during the night to alleviate the deficiency in radiation intensity, but no effect was observed on the vase life of cut rose flowers during the winter season.
