Breeding of Lilium longiflorum ‘ White Eve ’ as an F1 Hybrid for Pot Plant 일대잡종 분화용 나팔나리 ‘White Eve’ 육성

우리나라에서 재배되고 있는 백합 구근의 대부분을 수입에 의존하고 있어 국내 품종을 개발하여 보급할 필요가 있다. 분화용 나팔나리 유전자원 ‘Ace’, ‘Nelli White’, ‘Mount Carmel’을 수집하여 1996년부터 2008년까지 자가수정을 실시하였다. 2014년에 자가수정 7세대 ‘ L2-127-1’과 ‘ L2-81-5’계통을 교잡하여 1대잡종 나팔나리 ‘White Eve’를 개발하였다. 분화용 나팔나리 일대잡종 ‘White Eve’는 백색의 나팔모양의 홑꽃으로 반점이 없으며, 식물체 당 개화수가 5.8개로 많은 편이며, 꽃의 직경이 13.1cm로 중간 정도이고 측향으로 개화한다. 초장은 40.9cm이고, 잎의 수는 32.8개이고, 잎의 길이는 13.5cm이며, 잎의 폭은 2.1 cm이다. 일대 잡종 ‘White Eve’는 대조품종인 ‘Mount Carmel’ 보다 화경이 크고 화수가 많아서 개화 기간이 길며 소비자 선호도가 높다.

There is a need to breed and distribute domestic varieties of Lilium longiflorum in Korea because most of the lily bulbs cultivated in Korea are imported from other countries. The L. longiflorum ‘Ace’, ‘Nellie White’, and ‘Mount Carmel’ collected in 1995 were pollinated from 1996 to 2008. In 2014, L. longiflorum ‘White Eve’ was developed as an F1 hybrid which cultivar was crossed‘ L2-127-1’ and ‘L2-81-5’ that was obtained by seventh self-fertilization. ‘White Eve’ was tested for homogeneity, regional adaptability, and consumer preference at shows from 2010 to 2014. It produces a trumpet-shaped flower with no spots and 5.8 flowers per plant, a relatively large number compared other cultivars, and the flowers have a mean diameter of 13.1 cm. The flower inflorescence is umbellate and racemose, while the longitudinal axis is horizontal. The plant is 40.9 cm high with leaves 2.1 cm wide; each plant has 32.8 leaves. ‘White Eve’ has a longer flowering period because of its relatively larger diameter and number of f lowers than ‘Mount Carmel’, which is a comparable variety; therefore, consumer preference for this cultivar is stronger than that for others.
