본 계획은 1980년 초반 용도가 폐기된 신탄진 취수장 부지에 주제공원을 제안하는 것이다. 대상지는 대전시 대덕구 신탄진동에 위치해 있으며 면적은 16,715㎡이다. 설계의 주안점으로서 지역주민들과 방문객들에게 상징적공간과 모임공간으로서 역할을 유도하였으며 주변 대청댐의 주요 조망공간과 연계하여 신탄진의 관광장소로 만들고자 하였다. 본 설계안은부지지 조사/분석, 분석에 의한 프로그램 개발, 환경복원 및 지속가능한 설계, 그리고 종합계획을 다루고 있다. 주개념으로서 생태공원, 재생공원, 문화공원으로서 모색되었으며 외부공간은 관찰대, 조각정원, 야생화 정원, 수생관찰데크,문화센터로 공간구성을 하였다.
This landscape design was proposed for the renovation of a water intake site which has been in disuse since the early 1980s. The site, about 16,715㎡, is located at Shintanjin-Dong, Daeduck-Gu, Daejeon. Design objectives of this proposal are to build a symbolic gathering place for community members and visitors, to make a tourist spot of Shintanjin linked with adjacent sight spots in Daechung Dam. The landscape design covers the following: site inventory and analysis; integration of design program and site analysis; environmental restoration plan and sustainable design; master plan and spatial design. The main concept was developed by the idea of a ecological park, remaking park, and cultural park. The outdoor spaces are composed of five major areas ; 1)Observation site, 2)Sculpture garden, 3)Wildflower garden, 4)Observation glass deck for aquatic organisms, 5)Cultural center.
