유아원예프로그램이 유아의 자연친화적 환경태도, 과학적 태도와 탐구능력, 그리고 정서지능에 미치는 영향 KCI 등재
Effect of Young Children’s Horticultural Program on the Young Children’s Natural-Environment Attitude, Scientific Attitude and Exploration Ability, and Emotional Intelligence

본 연구는 유아원예프로그램이 유아의 자연친화적 환경태도, 과학적 태도, 과학적 탐구능력, 정서지능에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 경기도 일산의 H유치원의 만 5세 유아 25명을 대상으로 2009년 8월 25일부터 11월 13일까지 매주 1~2회, 회기 당 30~40분씩 총 14회에 걸쳐 유치원 교실과 옥상에 위치한 실외 텃밭에서 유아원예프로그램을 실시하였다. 본 연구에서 실시한 프로그램은 영·유아발달영역의 인지와 정서 영역에 기초하여 유치원교육과정의 탐구생활과 표현생활을 연계하여 개발하였다. 1회기~8회기까지는 식물을 직접 기르며 식물의 성장을 관찰하는 것과 자연 환경에 대한 학습 활동으로, 9회기~14회기까지는 자신과 또래, 그리고 환경에 대한 정서적 표현 활동으로 구성하였다. 본 연구에서 사용된 식물인 상추, 깻잎, 쑥갓은 생활 주변에서 쉽게 접할 수 있고, 기르기에 쉬운 식물로서 재배 시기와 재배 장소를 고려하여 선정하였다. 검사 도구로는 유아의 자연친화적 환경태도, 과학적 태도 및 과학적 탐구능력, 정서지능의 4가지 도구가 사용되었는데, 이는 프로그램의 사전과 사후에 실시되었다. 결과에서는 유아원예프로그램을 실시하기 전보다 실시한 후에 유아의 자연친화적 환경태도, 과학적 태도와 탐구능력, 정서지능의 향상에 효과가 나타났다. 본 연구 결과는 향후 유아교육 현장에서 원예교육이 체계적으로 그리고 지속적으로 이루어져야 할 필요성을 시사하고 있으며 또한, 이를 위한 교육 정책의 수립이 필요함을 제시하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다고 하겠다.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of children's horticultural program on young children's natural-environment attitude, scientific attitude and exploration ability, and emotional intelligence. 25 five-year-old children were participated. Young children's horticultural program were constructed on the model of cognitive and emotional development. Activities of the model were created by appling the guideline of National Preschool Curriculum. 14 sessions of the activities were offered. To examine the effects of children's horticultural program, the instruments of children’s natural environment attitude, scientific attitude and exploration ability, and emotional intelligence were evaluated before and after children's horticultural program. In the results, there were statistically significant changes in all measures of evaluation of children's horticultural program activity. The discussion will be mentioned.
