연구목적은 다문화교육 분야에서 수행된 ‘다문화 감수성’ 관련 연구들의 전반적인 동향 및 연구의 특징을 분석하여 후속연구에의 시사점을 도출하는 것이다. ‘다문화 감수성’, ‘문화간 감수성’ 등의 주제어로 선행연구를 검색하고, 2008년~2014년의 기간 동안 한국연구재단의 등재(후보)지에 발표된 연구논문을 대상으로 분석하였다. 연구결과 연구방법 측면에서 양적연구가 주를 이루었으며, 연구주제별 유형으로는 변인분석, 프로그램 개발, 다문화 감수성 수준조사, 척도개발의 순으로 이루어졌다. 연구대상 측면에서는 주로 학생, 교사, 사회복지 종사자를 대상으로 수행되었다. 연구주제 및 연구방법의 다양화, 연구대상의 확대 및 세분화, 적용 가능한 프로그램 개발, 한국 상황에 적합한 다문화 감수성 척도의 개발이 요구된다.

The purpose of this study is to investigate trends and future directions of multicultural sensitivity related research in multicultural education. This study analyzes 37 multicultural sensitivity related articles published from 2008 to 2014 in Korea. The findings show that the most dominant method of analysis is quantitative and research topics were divided into four categories: exploring factors of multicultural sensitivity, developing programs and pedagogical approach, understanding multicultural sensitivity of the object and developing the multicultural sensitivity inventory. The object of studies include students, teachers and service providers in social welfare settings. For future research directions, this study suggest the diversification of topics and methods, the expansion and subdivision of research objects, and the development of programs and inventories valid in Korean context.
