전통문화예술을 활용한 콘텐츠의 개발은 최근 몇 년간 여러 분야에서 활발히 이루어져 왔다. 이는 또한, ‘융합’이라는 용어를 통해 더욱더 박차를 가하고 있다. 이와 같은 활동들은 전통문화예술의 재해석을 통해 다양한 콘텐츠의 개발과 성공 사례를 남겼다. 전통문화의 계승, 발전 그리고 이것의 세계화는 중요한 과제라 생각한다. 전통문화를 재해석하고 그 명맥을 이어가는 것은 단지 예술장인들만의 몫이 아닌 우리 모두가 함께 노력해야하는 것이다. 전통문화를 재해석하여 현대 디자인과의 결합은 그 중 하나라고 생각되어진다. 본 연구는 한국의 전통문화예술을 기반으로 한 디자인 콘텐츠 중 옻칠기법을 활용한 디자인 제품을 중심으로 그 사례에 대한 조사 및 연구를 기본 목적으로 한다. 이를 통해, 현대 디자인의 진단과 앞으로 나아갈 방향을 제시한다.

Recently, Using traditional culture and arts in the development of content has been made actively in many areas. It also, through the term 'convergence', it has spurred more. These activities have been left a variety of content development and success cases by the reinterpretation of traditional culture and art. It is thought that Cultural heritages, development and its globalization are important challenges. Reinterpretating a traditional culture and craftsmanship is not only for the works of craftmen but also the works for all together. Reinterpretation of traditional culture and modern design is the one of those. This study is focused on case research and study of the design products by conjugating traditional lacquer technique based on the art of the traditional culture of Korea. It would diagnose the modern design and suggest the direction to move forward.
