세계적으로 널리 읽히고 있는 성경은 선지자들에 의해 시대를 달리하여 기록된 것이다. 또한 한민족에게 옛날부터 전해오는 많은 비결과 예언서들도 오랜 기간 동안 다양한 선지자들에 의해 시대를 달리하여 집필된 경전인 것이다. 더구나 1만년의 역사를 지니고 있어서, 더 오래되고 더 의미 있는 예언서들이 많다. 그러나 우리 예언서들은 세계화되지 못하였고, 대부분 국내에서만 번역되고 해석되는 수준이다. 이는 사심을 가진 자들이 함부로 해석하지 못하도록 고의적으로 왜곡시 켜 놓은 특성도 있다. 따라서 주관적이고 단편적인 해석을 하다 보니, 원본이 훼손되고 더 혼란만 가증 시키는 상황도 발생 하였다.
이에 따라 본 논문에서는 성경을 포함하여 현존하는 모든 예언서들이 일부 고의적 변형이 있다고 하여도, 모든 예언서들 이 후대를 위한 지침서라는 점을 전제로 하였다. 그리고 오르는 길은 달라도 그 산의 꼭대기는 하나인 것처럼, 계시와 미래 정보를 보낸 존재가 절대자라면 시대와 저자를 달리하고, 서로 다른 용어를 사용하고 있다고 하여도, 일정한 일관성과 공 통점을 발견할 수 있을 것으로 본다. 이러한 관점에 가장 가까운 편집과 구성방식으로 공통점을 추출한 저서가 근래에 출 간된 해월유록이다. 따라서 이를 비교대상으로 하여 연구방법의 타당성과 귀결되는 결론을 분석하였다.
