한국영화에 반영된 사교춤의 사회적 의미변화 - 영화「바람의 전설」과「댄서의 순정」을 중심으로 KCI 등재

본 연구는 영화를 춤에 대한 사회적 의미를 담고 있는 것으로 간주하여 영화에 나타난 사교춤 의 사회적 의미변화를 탐색하고자 반영적 접근을 시도하였다. 연구의 분석 대상은「바람의 전 설」(2004)과「댄서의 순정」(2005)이고, 채트먼의 서사분석법을 분석방법으로 활용하였다. 분석 결 과를 살펴보면, 첫째, 1990년대에서 2000년대 초반을 표현한「바람의 전설」은 사교춤을 비공식적 인 것이고 사적인 것이며 무엇보다 일탈을 위한 수단으로 표현하고 있다. 둘째, 그러나 2000년대 중반을 표현하고 있는「댄서의 순정」에서는 사교춤을 특정 훈련을 통해 습득한 기량이 필요한 전 문 영역으로 전제하면서, 부정적이고 반사회적인 묘사는 제거되고 춤 자체의 훈련과 전문성이 부 각되는 표현방식을 취하고 있다. 이런 서사분석 결과는 한국사회에서 사교춤이 부정적이고 비전 문적인 분야라는 의미에서 벗어나 전문적인 영역이며 예술이자 스포츠로서의 의미를 획득하게 된 사회적 의미 변화를 반영하는 것이라고 파악된다. 본 연구에서는 영화적 문법과 무용적 어휘 자 체를 세세하게 다루지 못하였고 반영과정의 여러 지점을 연구대상으로 삼지는 못하였지만, 영화 를 통해 대중춤 영역에 대한 반영적 접근을 시도하였다는 데 의의가 있다고 하겠다.
This study attempted reflection approach to explore social meaning change in social dance appearing in films from the premise that dance reflects its social meanings in films. The subjects of this study were「Dance With The Wind」(2004) and「Dancing Princess」(2005), and the analysis methodology utilized for this study was the narrative analysis by Chatman. From the results of this study, firstly, the social dance appeared as a means of social deviance above all, that is, informal and private in「Dance With The Wind」which represented 1990s and early 2000s. Secondly, however, the social dance took a way of expression to remove the descriptions negative and antisocial, and was embossed with training and professional skills of dance itself in the premise that it is a professional area requiring skills through special training in「Dancing Princess」which represented the middle 2000s. This narrative analysis results were identified as reflection of social meaning change acquired from the sense of art and sport, which is a professional area deviating from the meaning of negative and non-professional area in Korean society. This study attained significance in attempting reflection approach to popular dance area in films, even though it had limitation that this study failed to fully deal with film grammars and dance vocabularies, and to adopt various points in the process of reflection.
