본 연구는 하천 수환경 평가기법의 일환으로 multimetric 접근방식인 생물보전지수(Index of Biological Integrity, IBI)의 적용방법을 도입을 목적으로 하였다. 국내에서 IBI평가를 위해 Karr(1981)가 제시한 12개 메트릭 대신 11개 메트릭을 적용하였으며, 11개 중 5개 메트릭은 국내 수환경 특성에 맞게 변형하여 적용하였다. 본 평가기법의 적용을 위해 선정된 갑천에서 평균 IBI값은 36(범위:17~]4
