이 세상의 온갖 자연과 사물은 모두 일정한 비를 이루고 있다. 이러한 비례의 조화는 시각적으로 안정감을 주는 중요한 요소임과 동시에 아름다움을 느끼게 하는 기본적인 조건이 되며, 비의 조화를 기반으로 한 아름다움은 일정한 비가 있을 때 이루어진다고 할 수 있다.
자연계에는 무수히 많은 비율이 존재한다. 화합물은 지극히 안정된 구조를 필요로 하기 때문에 특정 조형비를 가지는 다양한 정다각형 구조로 되어 있다. 특히, 유기체는 합목적성에 맞게 어떤 특정한 비율을 선택하기 때문에 자연에는 정말로 다양한 비율이 존재한다. 심지어 바이러스의 경우는 이 들 특정 조형비들의 조합으로 되어 있다. 사실 황금비나 금강비나 이 무한한 비율의 특수한 경우 중의 하나라 할 수 있다. 유사한 비율을 보이는 사례까지 이 범주에 넣어 확대 해석하는 것은 바람직한 일이 아니라 생각된다. 인간의 주관적 심미안은 특정 비율에 대한 선호도를 가진다. 어떤 예술품이나 건축물에서 보이는 특정비율의 선호도는 우연하게 인간의 주관적 심미적 요소와 부합된 경우라 할 수 있다. 21세기에 들어 인류 영속성의 전제는 ‘지속가능한 발전’이라는 화두를 낳았다. 이는 친환경적이고 에너지 효율적이며 인간의 편의성을 해치지 않아야 함을 의미한다.
본 논문에서는 자연에 존재하는 다양한 조형비와 완벽한 조형비로 널리 알려진 서양의 황금비와 한국을 비롯한 동양권에서 선호되는 금강비의 잘못 알려진 사례와 확대 해석 사례 등에 대하여 살펴보고자 한다. 이를 토대로 이러한 관점에서 심미적 요소 뿐 아니라, 인류의 영속성을 전제할 수 있는 실체화 가능한 새로운 패러다임의 다양한 조형비의 필요성에 대하여 고찰하고자 한다.
All the nature and matters in this world exist at steady ratios. Harmony of such ratios is considered not only an important element to secure a sense of visual stability but also a fundamental condition for beauty at the same time. As for this ratio harmony-based beauty, it is finally realized only with presence of steady ratios.
A number of ratios are observed in the natural world. When it comes to compounds, since they need structures which have been absolutely stabilized, they come in various regular polygons of specific molding ratios. In particular, organisms go for some special ratios to satisfy purposefulness and due to that reason, nature does consist of such a diversity of ratios. In case of viruses, for instance, they are built up at these particular molding ratios. In fact, in terms of the golden ratio or Geumgang ratio, they are regarded to be distinguished cases among all these infinite ratios. This research does not believe that it is proper to stretch the meaning of these cases of similar ratios as the cases are included in the category mentioned previously. Humans’ subjective eyes for beauty prefer specific ratios. Preference for specific ratios found in some art works or structures is said to be this case in which humans’ subjective aesthetic elements agree to such ratios only accidentally.
Since the beginning of the 21st century, the premise of humanity permanence has brought up a topic, ‘sustainable development.’ This signifies to be eco-friendly and energy-efficient but not to harm convenience of human beings. This work was carried out to examine the diversity of configurative ratio in the nature and the misconception or expansion of the golden ratio and Geumgang ratio widely known as representative perfect one in western side and oriental region such as Korea, respectively. In this regard, this research suggests to focus on the designs that would be materialized based on both aesthetic elements and all these different molding ratios of creative new paradigms, and those paradigms should premise the permanence of humanity.
