본 연구는 고령화 사회가 가속되면서 골다공증예방, 고관절골절수술과 같은 의료적 측면에서 의 연구는 활발하지만 환경개선 및 보호대 개발 같은 분야에 대한 연구는 이루어지지 않고 있다. 노인을 위한 고관절의 중요성에 대하여는 인식도가 점점 높아지고 있으나 고관절 보호대라는 용어조차 생소할 정도로 인식도가 낮다. 따라서 본 연구는 국내 및 해외에서 출시되고 있는 힙 프로텍터를 바탕으로 첫째, 보호대 디자인유형에 대한 다양성을 알아보고 둘째, 우리나라 수요자에게 보급화할 수 있는 적합한 디자인 개발안을 제시하고 셋째, 고관절 보호대를 수요자에게 제공 할 수 있는 홍보방안을 연구한다. 이러한 관점에서 고관절 보호대의 적합한 디자인 방향 연구와 존재를 홍보하여 노인의 복지 향상과 삶의 질을 높일 수 있음은 물론이고, 고관절 골절 예방 제품 개발은 향후 다양한 고령 친화제품 설계에 반영할 경우, 골절로 인한 개인 및 사회의 막대한 의료비 부담을 감소시키고 고령자의 일상 활동력을 향상시킬 것이다.

In this study, the aging society has been accelerated, and research on the medical aspect such as prevention of osteoporosis and hip fracture surgery has been actively conducted, but researches on the environment improvement and the development of the protector have not been conducted. The importance of hip joints for the elderly is increasingly recognized, but the term hip protector is even unrecognized enough to be unfamiliar. In addition, not only the improvement of the welfare of the elderly and the quality of life can be promoted by promoting the research and the existence of the proper design direction of the hip joint protector, but also the development of the hip fracture prevention product, And will reduce the burden on the society's enormous medical costs and improve the daily living ability of the elderly Therefore, this study investigates the product development process based on the products that are being launched at home and abroad, and studies the diversity of the prototype material technology, focusing on the types and cases of the designs currently being released. Second, It suggests appropriate design development plan that can be supplied to consumers in Korea. Third, propose a plan to promote hip protector.
