晉陽河氏 가운데서 河珍을 시조로 하는 司直公派는 고려 후기와 조선 초기에 名公巨卿이 배출되어 대단히 번성하였다. 그러나 領議政 河演, 大司諫 河潔 등이 현달하여 서울로 옮겨가는 바람에 진주에서는 명성이 줄어들었다. 다시 그 후손 중에 咸吉道 觀察使를 지낸 河襟이 朝鮮前期에 진주로 還故함에 따라서 다시 문호를 이루게 되었다. 이후 ‘南冥 이후 제일인자’라는 명성을 얻은 謙齋 河弘度와 그 아우인 樂窩 河弘達, 그리고 낙와의 아들이자 겸재의 조카인 雪牕 河澈 등이 나와 南冥學을 계승하여 큰 학문을 성취하여 이 家門의 격을 높였다. 科擧나 仕宦을 통한 번성은 아니었으나 학문과 儒論을 주도하여 지역 유림사회에서 큰 역할을 해냄으로써 집안을 현저하게 만들었다. 河東[조선말기까지는 晋州] 安溪마을에 거주했던 晉陽河氏 司直公派 가문의 역사와 특성을 자세히 고찰해 보고, 그 가운데 가문을 번성하게 한 대표적인 인물들을 선별하여 그들의 유림사회에서의 행적을 고찰하여 밝혔다.

Jinju Ha clan rooted in Jinju, have lived in Jinju for generations. Ha clan are generally divided into two halves. Among them, the Sajikpa have cultivated many of the high officials in the late Goryeo dynasty and early Joseon dynasty. During the King Sejong of the Joseon Dynasty, Hayun and Hagynl were especially prominent in the whole country. However, after a great success, they left Jinju and moved to Seoul. So for a while their descendants did not remain in the Jinju. Then one of the descendants of the Hagynl came back to the Jinju and became a clan. By the time of the King Seonjo in the Joseon Dynasty, Hahongdo Hahongdal brethren and Hahongdal'son Hachul came out and the price of the family became very high. Many of their descendants have followed scholar traditions for generations. They played a big role for the Nammyong school as a member of the Nammyong school. They have written a lot of Poetries and sentences, which are very helpful in understanding studies and thoughts of Nammyong and Nammyong school.
