바울은 각 선교지의 삶의 정황(Sitz im Leben)에서 비롯된 여러 신학적 문제들을 그의 서신에서 다루고 있다. 따라서 바울서신의 신학적 주제들은 선교적 해석을 통해 보다 바르고 분명하게 이해될 수 있다. 왜냐하면 바울서신에서 선교의 성서적 근거를 찾는 것이 아니라 바울서신 자체가 하나님의 선교를 증거하기 위한 것이기 때문에 선교적 해석을 해야 한다는 것이다. 바울은 이방인의 사도로서 오직 믿음으로 의롭게 되는 ‘이신칭의’(以信稱義)를 통해 유대인뿐만 아니라 모든 믿는 자들이 구원을 얻는 복음의 보편성을 확립하였다. 이것은 십자가에 달리신 그리스도를 믿는 믿음에서 비롯된 것이다. 이 십자가는 유대인들이 수치스럽게 여기는 것이고 헬라인들이 어리석게 여기는 것이지만 바울은 이것이 하나님의 구원의 능력이자 지혜임을 강조하였다. 따라서 그리스도 안에서 구원을 얻은 자들은 ‘연합과 일치’를 이루어 세상에 복음을 선포하여야 한다. 오늘날 침체된 한국교회는 바울서신의 신학적 주제에 대한 선교적 해석과 실천을 통해 새로워질 수 있을 것이다.

This paper attempts to explore on the themes of Paul’s epistles as a missional- hermeneutical interpretation. Paul deals with various theological issues that arise from the context of the life of each mission field in his epistles. Therefore, the theological themes of Paul’s Epistles can be understood more clearly through missiological interpretation. Paul, as an apostle of the Gentiles, established the universality of the gospel in which not only the Jews but all believers were saved through the ‘justification by faith.’ It comes from the faith in Christ who was crucified. Although the cross is disgraceful to the Jews and foolishness to the Greeks, Paul emphasized that it is the power and wisdom of God’s salvation. Therefore, those who are saved in Christ must be one and proclaim the gospel to the world. In conclusion, the stagnated Korean churches today can be renewed through the missionary interpretation and practice of the theological themes of Paul’s epistles.
