South Korea's President Lee Myung-bak visited Dokdo on August 10, Japan claims Dokdo is Japanese territory. Japan denounced Lee Myung - bak 's visit to Dokdo. In particular, the Japanese parliament has argued that the issue of Dokdo should be solved by the International Court of Justice. This study analyzed the view that the issue of Dokdo should be solved by the
First, at the National Assembly of Japan, parliamentarians analyzed whether the idea that Dokdo was Japanese territory was active or passive. The aggressive view is that despite the Dokdo is Japanese territory, the Japanese government actively responded to the Dokdo issue. The passive International Court of Justice in the Japanese parliament.point of view is that Japan is now responsible for both the present and past governments because Dokdo was not Japanese territory and the previous Japanese government had not actively coped with it.
Second, in 2005, Shimane Prefecture of Japan established 'Takeshima Day'. In the National Assembly, lawmakers insisted that the government should hold the event because the territorial issue is a diplomatic issue. The Japanese government must promote the Dokdo issue at home and abroad. The International Court of Justice urged Dokdo to resolve quickly. However, there was not much awareness that Dokdo was Japanese territory in the Japanese parliament.
