The purpose of this study is to analyze consumer preference for fish farm HACCP certification using conjoint analysis. This study used raw flatfish product to evaluate the fish farm HACCP. In this study, 500 consumers were surveyed using panel survey and stratified sampling. In the recognition analysis, the farm HACCP certification system was found to be highly recognized by consumers. It can be seen that the brand assets accumulated by existing food and agricultural HACCP certification were transfered to the fish farm HACCP and absorbed. Consumers perceived fish farm HACCP certification as similar one with existing food and agricultural HACCP. Conjoint analysis evaluated three levels factors. The attributes and levels evaluated were : price(25,800 won, 28,400 won, 31,000 won), certification(fish farm HACCP, seafood traceability, and non certified), and origin(domestic, JEJU, and WANDO). The important levels were in order of price(40.8%), certification(30.2%) and origin(29.0%). We found that consumers give higher utility to fish farm HACCP certification compared with non certified and seafood traceability certification. Market simulation results showed that the fish farm HACCP product has 12%p higher market share than non certified products. Seafood traceability certification showed 4.6%p higher market share than non certified products.

As a first step in obtaining the minimum level of data needed to develop smart cultivation technology for Korean seaweed gim (Pyropia yezoensis), farming tests have been carried out using onshore aquaculture facilities. The aquaculture facility was built on paddy farmland on the west coast of Chungnam and received seawater from nearby sea. In this paper, we report the overall process and results of the aquaculture trials attempted in Korea's first onshore gim aquaculture facilities. In addition, the industrial possibility of gim production using the onshore aquaculture system will be discussed through the analysis of all expenses incurred in the test form.

The aim of this study is to overview what changes happened on the maritime field during the early Meiji period, how the compilation of ‘Japan Fisheries’ linked to the changes, and when the ‘Japan Fisheries’ was launched, completed and published. The trilogy of Japan Fishing Method, Japan Fishery Products, and Japan’s Useful Marine Products are called “Japan’s Fishery.” These were completed in 1895 for almost ten years since the compilation project was launched in 1886 at the Agricultural and Commercial Ministry. Japan Fishing Method selected, improved and recorded excellent fishing and fishing methods in various Japanese regions at that time whereas Japan Fisheries Products chose excellent fish products from various methods of manufacturing and recorded the enactment and sale of fishery products. Japan’s Useful Marine Products is not currently passed on, so it is not known what kind of useful marine products are recorded. However, it can be assumed that the classification method of the “Japanese Fishing Classification Table” published in 1889 was based on the Japan Fishing Index. The cited texts in Japan Fisheries Products are up to 55 documents, including Engisiki and Wakansanzaizukai’s “Report of the Great Japan Fishery Association,” “Ariticle of the Fisheries Fair,” “The Western Fishery Manufacturing Technique” and “Trade Situation with China.” Completed with extensive research from old books to the latest fishery information, “Japan’s Fishery” is Japan’s best “Marine Products Encyclopedia” at the time. It is also a valuable literature that can trace fishing and fishing techniques and methods of manufacturing marine products in each Japanese fishing village before the end of the nineteenth century.

The purpose of this study is to construct an outlook model that is consistent with the “Fisheries Outlook” monthly published by the Fisheries Outlook Center of the Korea Maritime Institute(KMI). In particular, it was designed as a partial equilibrium model limited to abalone items, but a model was constructed with a dynamic ecological equation model(DEEM) system taking into account biological breeding and shipping time. The results of this study are significant in that they can be used as basic data for model development of various items in the future. In this study, due to the limitation of monthly data, the market equilibrium price was calculated by using the recursive model construction method to be calculated directly as an inverse demand. A model was built in the form of a structural equation model that can explain economic causality rather than a conventional time series analysis model. The research results and implications are as follows. As a result of the estimation of the amount of young seashells planting, it was estimated that the coefficient of the amount of young seashells planting from the previous year was estimated to be 0.82 so that there was no significant difference in the amount of young seashells planting this year and last year. It is also meant to be nurtured for a long time after aquaculture license and limited aquaculture area(edge style) and implantation. The economic factor, the coefficient of price from last year was estimated at 0.47. In the case of breeding quantity, it was estimated that the longer the breeding period, the larger the coefficient of breeding quantity in the previous period. It was analyzed that the impact of shipments on the breeding volume increased. In the case of shipments, the coefficient of production price was estimated unelastically. As the period of rearing increased, the estimation coefficient decreased. Such result indicates that the expected price, which is an economic factor variable and that had less influence on the intention to shipments. In addition, the elasticity of the breeding quantity was estimated more unelastically as the breeding period increased. This is also correlated with the relative coefficient size of the expected price. The abalone supply and demand forecast model developed in this study is significant in that it reduces the prediction error than the existing model using the ecological equation modeling system and the economic causal model. However, there are limitations in establishing a system of simultaneous equations that can be linked to production and consumption between industries and items. This is left as a future research project.

Oysters are the most abundantly harvested type of shellfish in Korea. As export of this marine product increases, oysters have greatly contributed to an increase in fishing income. As the oyster aquaculture industry has rapidly grown since the late 1990s, issues of oyster-shell processing that occur in production processes have re-emerged as important topics in the oyster industry. The amount of oyster shells harvested in 2019 is estimated to be approximately 300,000 tons. With reductions in demand for pyrolytic fertilizer and feed, which are currently the greatest sources of demand, unprocessed shell quantities have doubled compared to 2018, causing them to be an issue once more. Such oyster-shell processing also incurs great costs, and a total of forty-six billion three hundred fifty million Korean won (46,350,000,000 KRW) has been provided from 2009 to 2020 for the use of oyster shells as a resource. According to current Korean laws, oyster shells are considered to be industrial waste if more than 300 kilograms are sent out in a day. Collection and processing must be conducted by a waste-consignment company. Consequently, there are many limitations to the use of oyster shells in Korea as a resource. However, in Japan, only oyster-shell waste is regulated by waste-processing As a result, local governments may apply exceptions when utilized as organic matter. Consequently, in Japan, oyster shells are being used as resources in more diverse fields than in Korea. This study observes the conditions and problems of oyster-shell processing in Korea and attempts to find new domestic oyster-shell resource solutions in light of Japan’s recycling practices.

This study aimed to establish the public interest functions of fisheries and fishing villages, which is intended to help introduce and expand the public-purpose direct payment system in the fisheries sector. Firstly, this study looked at trends related to the public interest functions of domestic and foreign cases in similar fields in order to get implications for establishing public service functions in fisheries and fishing villages. Secondly, three criteria were defined for establishing the public interest functions of fisheries and fishing villages. Thirdly, the public interest functions of fisheries and fishing villages were defined through prior research, analysis of overseas cases, and consultation with experts in the fields of fisheries and fishing villages. As a result, the six public interest functions and the 14 detailed functions were defined. Finally, this study established a direction for preserving and improving the public interest functions of fisheries and fishing villages, and presented strategies for achieving them.

It is important to understand the factors in which fishing village experiences have on family relationships. The purpose of this study is to derive the variables related to the family stemmed from the analysis of previous studies, and to find and present common factors that specifically influence the fishing experience in the family relationship. Through this, we intend to find it out in addition to the visible results such as income and experience, it can be an effective policy as a means to improve family relations through mutual efforts and understanding among families in promoting fishing-related policies. As a result of the analysis of the study, two common factors that the fishing experience had on family relationships were extracted. The first common factor is 'mutual effort,' which results in trying for each other's emotions, communication, understanding, and unity. The second common factor is 'mutual sharing' so fishing experiences are generally related to each other in family relationships. It can be seen as a result of sharing the memories, pleasures, and bonds of the people.
