In order to provide the basic data required for setting up the proper strategies to minimize the future marine pollution in the vicinity sea area of the Geoje Island, the general water quality parameters and dye diffusion experiment were carried out from January to March, 1983. Although TSS and COD level in the investigated sea area showed still slightly lower than the area of Seaside Industrial Complex Zones, seriously increasing due to the construction of heavy industrial plants. Dissolved oxygen showed more than 8 ppm, and inferred still enough for the reservation of the investigated sea area. The dye patches moved south-eastward with forming an elliptical shape and then turned slowly to the area of Kujora during flood tide, and it moved northwestward and then blocked the entrance of Jangseungpo during ebb tide, The diffusibility in the area may be assessed to be quite better than other coastal areas.
Zingiber officinale Roscoe, commonly known as ginger, has long been used as a powerful health-promoting antioxidant that supports cellular health of the human body. The objective of this study was to compare the antioxidant and antimicrobial activities of the samples with aging and fermentation. Antioxidant activities of the samples were compared using total phenol, flavonoid contents, ABTS cation radical scavenging activity and DPPH radical scavenging activity. Antimicrobial activities were also examined using the paper disc method and minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC). Acidity of the fermented ginger (FG) with lactic acid bacteria showed a significantly higher value than that of the ginger (GG). The content of 6-gingerol, a bioactive component in ginger, decreased in all fermented gingers but 6-shogaol which is also one of the main valuable ingredients showed the increased content at ginger fermented with Streptococcus thermophilus and Lactobacillus acidphilus. Flavonoid contents of the FG and GG did not show significant differences. However, ABTS cation radical scavenging activity and DPPH radical scavenging activity were 10-30% increased in the samples with fermentation (p<0.05), respectively. The samples of the disc showed an inhibitory effect on growth of gram positive Staphylococcus aureus and Listeria monocytogenes. Zinger with fermentation showed higher antioxidant and antimicrobial activities. Thus, we conclude that aging and fermentation can be a helpful process to increase the functional effects of ginger.
The correlation between meteorological data collected at the optical wide-field patrol network (OWL-Net) Station No. 1 and the seeing of satellite optical observation data was analyzed. Meteorological data and satellite optical observation data from June 2014 to November 2015 were analyzed. The analyzed meteorological data were the outdoor air temperature, relative humidity, wind speed, and cloud index data, and the analyzed satellite optical observation data were the seeing full-width at half-maximum (FWHM) data. The annual meteorological pattern for Mongolia was analyzed by collecting meteorological data over four seasons, with data collection beginning after the installation and initial set-up of the OWL-Net Station No. 1 in Mongolia. A comparison of the meteorological data and the seeing of the satellite optical observation data showed that the seeing degrades as the wind strength increases and as the cloud cover decreases. This finding is explained by the bias effect, which is caused by the fact that the number of images taken on the less cloudy days was relatively small. The seeing FWHM showed no clear correlation with either temperature or relative humidity.
The present study was carried out to elucidate the effect of girdling on the quality and harvest date of the 'Shigyoku' grapes. Among girdled vines, the interval from full bloom to harvest date was 77 days; this was as much as seven days shorter in vines receiving a 20% girdling treatment. With regards to fruit characteristics, significant differences were observed in cluster length, berry number, and berry weight in vines that received girdling treatments. There were also significant differences in cluster weight; 468.2 g, 491.6 g and 504.9 g in the control group, 10% girdling group, and 20% girdling group, respectively. Thus, the use of girdling treatments is an effective approach to increasing cluster weight by 5% in the 10% girdling treatment and 8% in the 20% girdling treatment. The 10% girdling treatment showed significant difference in terms of titrable acidity; in fact, the overall titrable acidity was relatively high among all the girdling treatments. The concentration of anthocyanin increased in 20% girdling treatment, but there were no significant differences in anthocyanin concentration among girdling treatments. Berry color developed rapidly in vines that received girdling treatment.
Single seeds of common buckwheat cultivar Suwon No. 1 when subjected to SDS-PAGE revealed very high polymorphism. High variation existed for protein or protein subunits with molecular weight 54-47kDa, 45-25kDa and 16-11kDa. The electrophoregram showed variation for globulin as well as other protein fractions. About 300 proteins were separated by two-dimensional electrophoresis in common buckwheat (Fagopyrum esculentum Moench.) seed. Seed maturation is a dynamic and temporally regulated phase of seed development that determines the composition of storage proteins reserves in mature seeds. Buckwheat seeds from 5, 10, 15, 20, and 25 days after pollination and matured stage were used for the analysis. This led to the establishment of high-resolution proteome reference maps, expression profiles of 48 spots. It was identified 48 proteins from MALDI-TOF/MS analysis of wild buckwheat seed storage proteins. The 48 proteins were found identical or similar to those of proteins reported in buckwheat and other plants; it is belonging to 9 major functional categories including seed storage proteins, stress/defense response, protein synthesis, photosynthesis, allergy proteins, amino acid, enzyme, metabolism, and miscellaneous. It appears that the major allergenic storage protein separated played the important role in buckwheat breeding and biochemical characterization.
To facilitate the introgression of F. esculentum into the traits of F. homotropicum, several accessions of the hybrids between these two species were pollinated with F. esculentum as the recurrent parent. The embryo in vitro rescue was performed to increase the recovery of backcross progenies. The F2 generation was more amenable than F1 hybrids to produce backcross progenies. The F1 hybrids were backcrossed twice with common buckwheat (pin-type F. esculentum) (recurrent backcrossing). Also, alternate backcrosses with common buckwheat and F. homotropicum (congruity backcrossing) were carried out. Pollen tube growth of BCF1 × F. esculentum (thrum) and F. homotropicum × BCF1 was the disturbed penetration exceeded for all initial interspecific hybrids, and its requirement was proportionally lower when the common buckwheat was used as the recurrent parent and as the last parent of congruity hybrids. Effects of both common buckwheat and F. homotropicum on seed success rate for hybridization were observed. Growth of hybrid embryos before rescue, regeneration of mature hybrids all increased recurrent and congruity backcrosses and inter-crosses between F1 plants and selected fertile plants of the second congruity backcrosses.
고온-고압 상태에서 티탄철석 (FeTiO3)의 상변이에 대한 연구가 있었으나, 그 결과는 서로 일치하지 않고 있다. 특히, 티탄철석상과 페롭스카이트상의 상변이 경계는 담금방법에 의해 결정된 것으로 신뢰도에 의문이 제기되고 있다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해, 고온-고압 현장상태에서 라지 볼륨 기기와 방사광을 이용하여 19 GPa와 700℃의 범위에서 X선 회절실험을 시행하였다. 이러한 실험결과, 페롭스카이트상은 상온에서 16 CPa 이상의 압력에서 안정하며, 15 CPa 근처에서 LiNbO3상으로 변이한다. 또한 이 두 고온-고압상은 500℃에서는 순간적인 상변이를 하고 있다. LiNbO3상은 각각 13 CPa 및 300'E와 10.8 GPa 및 400'E에서 티탄철석상으로 상변이 한다. 따라서 본 실험결과는 LiNbO3상은 고온-고압하에서 안정 영역을 확보하고 있으며, 페롭스카이트-티탄철석상경계는 이전에 발표된 결과와는 매우 다르다는 것을 지시해주고 있다.
To improve the iron content of red pepper, we have transferred the entire coding sequence of the ferritin gene(Fpl) into Capsicum annuum (L. cv. Chungyang and Bukang) by Agrobacterium mediated transformation. Transformants were found to contain the Fp1 gene at up to three loci, increased distinct iron content changes. In transgenic plants, iron content was as much as 7-fold to 8-folds greater than that of their untransformed counterparts. Furthermore, the Rl progenies from transformant(A7, A8) co-segregated into a 15:1 ratio for both Kanamycin resistance and genotype of high iron.
MgO-페리클레이즈 단결정의 체적탄성률을 초음파 간섭법을 이용하여 측정하였는데 (100) 면과 (110)면에 대한 초음파속도 측정치로부터 계산된 값은 각각 163.2 GPa 와 162.6 GPa 이다. 이 계산에 이용된 MgO의 밀도는 동일 단결정을 분쇄하여 얻은 분말 시료를 X-선 회절법을 이용하여 결정하였다. 이러한 실험 결과를 기존의 값과 비교하였고, 이를 등온 체적탄성률로 변환하여 동일한 시료를 이용하여 시행된 에너지 분산 X-선 회절 실험 결과를 포함하는 실험 결과치와 비교하였다. 초음파 간섭법의 원리와 방법도 소개되었다.
Total iron content and ferritin distribution have been determined in red pepper(Capsicum annuum L.) during development stage under conditions of iron nutritional status from hydroponic culture. Color of the leaves become chlorotic on iron deficient and high concentration. The plant height on each iron concentration had retarding effect at concentration lower than 25μM and greater than 12525μM. In normal green leaves. Total iron content was almost constant with a mean value of 2.5μmole of iron/mg of dry matter, except at 63day, for which it increases slightly to 4μmole. Howere, iron content of chlorotic plants grew on iron free medium was not almost detectable. Also in post chlorotic leaves(++Fe), iron content was evidently increase unitl 7days after transfer on liquid medium, but decreased from after 14days. Also, ferritin protein analysed total protein extracts prepared from leaves of different ages using antibodies raised against ferritin protein. Ferritin protein deereased progressively during the first week of germination and was not detectable in vegetative tissues. Ferritin protein in post chlorotic leaves wasevidently strongly cnhanced until 11days after transfer on liquid medium but decreased until the leves became chlorotic.
재배화(栽培化)가 되지 않아 자생품(自生品)을 채취(採取) 한약재(韓藥材)로 이용(利用) 되어 왔으며 수요량(需要量)도 높은 쇠무릎의 뿌리 수량(收量)을 높이기 위하여 지상부(地上部) 절단(切斷) 시험(試驗)을 수행(遂行)한 결과(結果)를 요약(要約)하면 다음과 같다. 1. 수확기(收穫期) 경장(莖長)은 무절단(無切斷)이 103cm로 가장 길었고 20rm 절단(切斷) 및 개화직전절단(開花直前切斷)은 각각(各各) 86.82cm로 큰 차이가 없었으나 2회절단(回切斷)은 49cm로 찾았다. 2. 절단처리(切斷處理)에 따른 주당(株當) 꽃의 수(數바)는 20, 30, 2회(回) 절단(切斷) 등(等제) 절단량(切斷量)이 증가(增加) 할수록 감소(減少)가 컸으며 꽃대(화촉)의 길이도 짧아졌다. 3. 종자(種子) 결실량(結實量)은 무절단(無切斷), 20, 30cm 절단처리간(切斷處理間)에는 차이(差異)가 인정(認定)되지 않았으나 2회(回) 절단(切斷)은 결실량(結實量)이 가장 적었으며 개화직전절단(開花直前切斷)은 무절단(無切斷)에 비해 유의적(有意的)으로 적엇으며 이에 따른 종자등숙율(種子登熟率)도 비슷한 결과(結果)를 보였다. 4. 뿌리 직경(直徑)은 무절단(無切斷), 개화직전(開花直前) 절단(切斷)이 각각(各各) 7.1, 7.3츠였으나 그 외 절단처리(切斷處理)는 6.6~6.8 였고 주근장(主根長)은 개화직전(開花直前) 절단(切斷)이 가장 길었으며 개당(個當) 뿌리 무게도 개화직전(開花直前) 절단(切斷)이 21g으로서 무절단(無切斷)에 비해 3.5g이 높았다. 5. 건(乾)뿌리 수량(收量)은 무절단(無切斷) 253kg/10a에 거친 반면 개화직전(開花直前) 절단(切斷)은 285kg/10a로서 무절단(無切斷) 대비(對比) 13%가 증수되었다.
