        An ultrafine grained complex aluminum alloy was fabricated by an accumulative roll-bonding (ARB) process using dissimilar aluminum alloys of AA1050 and AA5052 and subsequently annealed. A two-layer stack ARB process was performed up to six cycles without lubricant at an ambient temperature. In the ARB process, the dissimilar aluminum alloys, AA1050 and AA5052, with the same dimensions were stacked on each other after surface treatment, rolled to the thickness reduction of 50%, and then cut in half length by a shearing machine. The same procedure was repeated up to six cycles. A sound complex aluminum alloy sheet was fabricated by the ARB process, and then subsequently annealed for 0.5h at various temperatures ranging from 100 to 350˚C. The tensile strength decreased largely with an increasing annealing temperature, especially at temperatures of 150 to 250˚C. However, above 250˚C it hardly decreased even when the annealing temperature was increased. On the other hand, the total elongation increased greatly above 250˚C. The hardness exhibited inhomogeneous distribution in the thickness direction of the specimens annealed at relatively low temperatures, however it had a homogeneous distribution in specimens annealed at high temperatures.

        Taraxaci Herba has long been used in herbal medicine for their choleretic, anti-heumatic and diuretic properties. In the present study, we investigated the effects of origin plants of Taraxaci Herba, Taraxacum coreanum Nakai, as an anti-inflammatory agent in lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-induced microglial activation in BV2 cells. NNMBS273, the EtOH extracts of roots T. coreanum was examined for anti-neuronal inflammatory activity as new drug development. The roots of T. coreanum, showed the potent anti-neuroinflammatory effects on LPS-induced inflammation in microglial BV2 cells. The anti-inflammatory effects of NNMBS273, the EtOH extracts of roots T. coreanum was demonstrated by the suppression of pro-inflammatory mediators, including pro-inflammatory enzymes (inducible nitric oxide synthase and cyclooxygenase-2) and cytokines (tumor necrosis factor-α and interleukin-1β). These results suggest that the roots T. coreanum may be a promising candidate for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases related to neuroinflammation.

        Glutamate-induced oxidative injury contributes to neuronal degeneration in many central nervous system (CNS) diseases, such as Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, epilepsy and ischemia. Inducible heme oxygenase (HO)-1 acts against oxidants that are thought to play a role in the pathogenesis of these diseases. The EtOH extracts of Viola mandshurica (NNMBS274), Viola patrinii (NNMBS275) and Viola papilionacea Pursh (NNMBS276), origin plants of Violae Herba, showed the potent neuroprotective effects on glutamate-induced neurotoxicity. Among them, NNMBS275, the extract of V. patrinii possessed the protective effects against glutamate toxicity by inducing the expression of heme oxygenase (HO)-1 in the mouse hippocampal HT22 cells. These results suggest that extracts of V. patrinii could be the effective candidates for the treatment of ROS-related neurological diseases. Furthermore, it is suggested that the protective effects of V. patrinii extract due to inducing the expression of HO-1 as an antioxidant/cytoprotective target

        In this study, We evaluated structural performance of SRC Column using square steel tube. the parameter is a pre-axial load for inner CFT column. ABAQUS 6.9.3 was used for analysis. The results from this study show that the pre-axial load for inner CFT column does not affect to structural performance of the SRC column using square steel tube. And, a experimental test is needed to investigate the results of this study.

        The effects of conventional rolling (CR) and differential speed rolling (DSR) on the microstructure and mechanical properties of a copper alloy sheet were investigated in detail. A copper alloy with thickness of 3 mm was rolled to a 50% reduction at ambient temperature without lubrication with a differential speed ratio of 2:1; sample was then annealed for 0.5h at various temperatures from 100 to 800˚C. Conventional rolling, in which the rolling speed of the upper and lower rolls is identical, was performed under the same rolling conditions. The shear strain introduced by the CR showed positive values at positions on the upper roll side and negative values at positions on the lower roll side. However, the shear strain showed a zero or positive value at all positions for the samples rolled by the DSR. The microstrucure and mechanical properties of the as-rolled copper alloy did not show very significant differences between the CR and DSR for the microstructure and mechanical properties. However, those properties showed very significant differences in the case of the annealed samples. The effects of rolling method on the microstructure and mechanical properties of the as-rolled and subsequently annealed materials are discussed in terms of the shear strain.

        최근 초고층 건축물은 비정형적 외관을 갖는 랜드 마크적인 역할과 택지의 효율적인 사용을 위한 수직 도시 기능을 수행한다. 건축물의 외관은 비정형적인 요소로서 3T형태(Twisted, Tilted, Tapered)의 설계안들이 대부분 제안되고 있으며, 세장한 형태의 형상비를 만족하기 위한 새로운 구조시스템의 연구 개발이 활발히 진행 중이다. 다이아그리드 시스템의 하중 전달 메커니즘은 대각 가새(Diagrid)의 삼각형 형상에 기인하여 중력하중 뿐만 아니라 횡하중을 전달하기 때문에 대부분의 기둥이 제거되게 된다. 또한 대각 가새의 축방향 거동(인장/압축)에 의해 전단력을 전달하여 전단 변형이 최소화되기 때문에 기둥이 전단력을 전달하던 기존 방식에 비해 비정형적인 외관에 쉽게 대응할 수 있는 구조시스템이다. 본 연구에서는 싸이클론 타워의 건축 계획안을 바탕으로 접합부 디테일 선정 과정과 접합부의 구조안전성을 유한요소해석을 통해 검증하였다. 이를 통해 응력집중 완화 방안을 제시하여 적절한 캡 플레이트 두께와 캡플레이트 확장 길이를 제시하여 응력집중 현상을 완화하였다.

        A Cu-Fe-P copper alloy was processed by accumulative roll-bonding (ARB) for ultra grain refinement and high strengthening. Two 1mm thick copper sheets, 30 mm wide and 300 mm long, were first degreased and wire-brushed for sound bonding. The sheets were then stacked on top of each other and roll-bonded by about 50% reduction rolling without lubrication at ambient temperature. The bonded sheet was then cut into two pieces of the same dimensions and the same procedure was repeated for the sheets up to eight cycles. Microstructural evolution of the copper alloy with the number of the ARB cycles was investigated by optical microscopy (OM), transmission electron microscopy(TEM), and electron back scatter diffraction(EBSD). The grain size decreased gradually with the number of ARB cycles, and was reduced to 290 nm after eight cycles. The boundaries above 60% of ultrafine grains formed exhibited high angle boundaries above 15 degrees. In addition, the average misorientation angle of ultrafine grains was 30 degrees.

        The through-thickness variations of strain and microstructure during high-speed hot rolled 5052 aluminum alloy sheet were investigated. The specimens were rolled at temperature ranges from 410 to 560˚C at a rolling speed of 15 m/s without lubrication and quenched into water at an interval of 30 ms after rolling. The redundant shear strain induced by high friction between rolls and the aluminum sheet was increased largely beneath the surface at a rolling reduction above 50%. Dynamic recrystallization occurred in the surface regions of the specimen rolled under conditions of high temperatures or high rolling reductions.

The specimens of 1050 aluminum were rolled at temperatures ranging from 410 to 560˚C at a rolling speed of 15 m/s without lubrication and quenched in water at an interval of 30ms after rolling. The redundant shear strain induced by high friction between rolls and the aluminum sheet was increased largely beneath the surface at a rolling reduction above 50%. Recrystallization occurred in the surface regions of the specimen rolled to reduction of 65% at 510˚C, while only recovery occurred in the other regions.

        The purpose of this study was to measure respondent's demographic characteristics, respondent's attitudes toward chicken, and factor influencing on the level of perceived helpfulness of country of origin in predicting the quality of chicken. The data was collected through a consumer survey during the March 2006. A total number of 250 meat consumers living in Suncheon, the eastern part of Chonnam, were randomly selected as respondents. Eleven respondents did not complete the survey instrument, resulting in a final sample size of 239. All estimations were carried out using chi-square, correlation, and logistic procedure of SAS package. The results are as follows. The level of perceived helpfulness of country of origin in predicting the quality of chicken was significantly different by age and occupation of demographic variables, and was significantly correlated with respondent informed of attitude variables. The proportional odds assumption of model was not violated at p<0.05. The effects of income, occupation and respondent informed on the level of perceived helpfulness of country of origin in predicting the quality of chicken. The results from this study could be useful in developing marketing and health promotion strategies, as well as government trade policy.

        The particle reinforced composite fabricated by a powder-in sheath rolling (PSR) method was severely. deformed by the accumulative roll-bonding (ARB) process. The ARB process was performed up to 8 cycles at ambient temperature without lubricant. The ARBed composite exhibited an ulbricant. grained structure similar to the other ARBed bulky materials. Tensile strength of the composite increased gradually with the number of ARB cycles, but from the 6th cycle it rather decreased slightly. These characteristics of the composite were somewhat different from those of Al powder compact fabricated by the same procedures. The difference in microstructure and mechanical properties between Al powder compact and the composite was discussed
