        This study investigated consumers’ recognition on shelf life of health functional foods to set up their rational expiration date. For this study 107 male and female adults aged 20 to 59 years were randomly selected as major consumers of health functional foods. And their data were analyzed with SPSS 17.0. The questionnaire included questions asking a consumer's recognition on the shelf life of health functional foods and how to treat health function food passing its shelf life. In this study, the consumers were found to pay attentions considerably to the shelf life. But most of them did not know an accurate meaning of the shelf life of health functional food and mistook it for expiry date. In addition, the consumers doubted safety of health functional foods passing the shelf life. Therefore, education for consumers about an accurate meaning of the shelf life was needed. The results of this study were considered to be helpful to set up a reasonable expiration date for health functional food.

        식육 중 플로르페니콜을 분석하기 위하여 시료를 ethyl acetate로 추출 농축한 후 이 농축액을 acetonitrile과 nhexane을 가하여 분획하고, acetonitrile층을 분리하여 농축하였다. 이를 Oasis HLB cartridge로 정제하고 C18 컬럼을 이용한 HPLC-FLD로 분석하였다. 분석법은 표준물질 0.05~1.0 mg/kg의 농도범위에서 직선성(r2=0.9997)을 나타냈으며, 검출한계는 0.012 mg/kg, 정량한계는 0.039 mg/kg 이었다. 또한 회수율은 쇠고기에서 87.6~92.3 %, 돼지고기에서 85.6~93.3 %, 닭고기에서 92.9~95.6 %이었으며, 상대 표준편차(RSD)는 쇠고기, 돼지고기, 닭고기에서 각각 1.1~4.8 %, 1.1~3.4 %, 1.0~5.3 %이었다. 본 연구에서 확립 된 분석방법으로 유통 중인 식육(쇠고기, 돼지고기, 닭고기) 150건을 전국 지역(서울, 부산, 대구, 대전, 광주)별로 수거하여 플로르페니콜의 잔류 실태를 조사한 결과, 돼지고기 1건에서 0.040 mg/kg이 검출되었으며, 돼지고기 2건, 쇠고기 1건, 닭고기 2건에서는 검출되었으나 정량한계 미만의 수준이었다. 이들 결과로부터 우리나라에서 유통 중인 조사한 식육 150건의 플로르페니콜 잔류량은 모두 국제기준에 적합한 것으로 조사되었다.

        The in vitro effects of trisodium phosphate and cetylpyridinium chloride on E. coli O157:H7 and L. monocytogenes were investigated. The trisodium phosphate and cetylpyridinium chloride was bactericidal toward E. coli O157:H7 and L. monocytogenes. The killing effects of the 1 × 10^(-2) M trisodium phosphate on E. coli O157:H7 and L. monocytogenes were 30-40%, 40-50%, respectively. The killing effects of the 5 × 10^(-7) M cetylpyridinium chloride on E. coli 0157:H7 and L. monocytogenes were 90-95%, 95-99%, respectively. The killing effects of the trisodium phosphate was 105 times that of the cetylpyridinium chloride. Factors effecting the bactericidal action of trisodium phosphate and cetylpyridinium chloride were investigated and the action depended on temperature and pH.
