        가는잎향유[Elsholtzia angustifolia (Loes.) Kitag.]는 화형 이 아름답고, 정유 특유의 향기가 좋아서 분화용 및 지피용 관 상식물로 수요가 증가하고 있고, 전초에는 약효가 있다고 알 려져 있다. 본 연구는 가는잎향유의 육묘에 미치는 플러그 트 레이 셀 사이즈, 파종립수, 차광정도, 추비농도 등의 영향을 구명하기 위하여 수행되었다. 연구결과, 플러그 트레이 셀 사 이즈는 용량이 증가할수록 유묘의 초장, 엽수, 마디수, 근장, 지상부 생체중이 유의적으로 증가하였다. 파종 립수는 2립 파 종 시 가장 효율적이었고, 파종량이 증가할수록 생육이 감소 하였다. 차광정도가 높아질수록 초장은 증가하였고, 경직경, 엽수, 마디수는 55% 차광에서 가장 우수하였다. 추비 처리 시 공시비료 1000배 처리구에서 생육이 가장 양호하였다. 따라 서 가는잎향유의 육묘 시 162셀 트레이에 원예상토를 채운 다음 셀 당 2립 파종한 후 55% 차광막이 설치된 육묘상에서 공시비료 1000배로 엽면시비하는 것이 가장 효과적인 것으로 생각된다.

        In this study, we investigated the antioxidant activity and anticancer effect of Coprinus comatus (C. comatus) extracts. Free radical scavenging capacity of the C. comatus extracts was evaluated in vitro by the DPPH assay. C. comatus exhibited the strong DPPH radical scavenging activity. In vitro tests were also performed to examine the anticancer activity of C. comatus against 293 human normal epithelial kidney cells and various human cancer cell lines including AGS, Hela and HCT-15. C. comatus extracts showed the potent cancer cell-selective growth inhibitory activity against AGS, Hela, and HCT-15 cells, but slightly inhibited 293 normal cell growth. We examined several biological activities such as antitumor effects of C. comatus extracts in vivo. Solid tumors were induced by Sarcoma-180 inoculation in the left groin of BALB/c mice and then C. comatus extracts were oral administered. After 5 weeks, all mice were sacrificed and their tumor weights were measured. C. comatus extracts exhibited the most effective antitumor activity, and the tumor growth rate was inhibited by 55% in comparison with control group. Taken together, these results indicate that C. comatus extracts showed high antioxidant activity and possessed powerful antitumor activity.

        Fermented halla gold kiwifruit (FHK) was prepared with Lactobacillus plantarum CK10, a bacterium derived from kimchi. We investigated the quality characteristics and antioxidative activity of madeleine added with FHK. The madeleine dough was prepared by mixing flour, sugar, baking powder, and then followed by adding salt, rum, different amount of the FHK (0, 1, and 3%) and butter. The total titratable acidity of madeleine increased significantly with the amounts of added FHK (p<0.05), while the pH value and total soluble solids showed the reverse trend. The color of madeleine became substantially redder with increasing amounts of FHK (p<0.05), and it appeared darker and less yellow at the same time. The total polyphenol contents of madeleines increased significantly with increasing amounts of FHK (p<0.05), but there was little difference in the total flavonoid content. When the antioxidant activities were measured in terms of 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH)- and 2,2’-azino-bis-3-ethylbenzothiazoline- 6-sulfonic acid-diammonium salt (ABTS)- radical scavenging, both measured activities of madeleines increased dramatically with added FHK in a dose-dependent manner. Our results suggested that the acidity, color, polyphenol content, and antioxidant activities of madeleines can be improved by adding the fermented gold kiwifruit.

        In this study, contetnts of phenolic acid and isoflavone, and biological activities of soy sauce were compared the soy sauce added bitter melon powder (BMPs). After the fermentation, pHs were decreased from 5.83 (0% BMP), 5.47 (5% BMP), and 5.32 (10% BMP) to 5.28, 5.36, and 5.16 at 90 days, whereas the acidities of soy sauce were increased from 0.06%, 0.07%, and 0.09% to 0.30%, 0.28%, and 0.36% at 90 days, respectively. In addition, the salinities of soy sauce were decreased, while viable cell numbers including Bacillus and yeast were increased. The contents of total phenolic, isoflavone-aglycone, and phenolic acid and antioxidant and α-glucosidase inhibition activities were significantly increased for 90 days, while the isoflavone-glycoside contents were decreased. In Particular, soy sauce with 10% BMP at 90 days showed the highest contents of glutamic acid (GA, 9,876.09 mg/100 mL) and γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA, 325.02 mg/100 mL) contents than among other samples. Additionally, the radical scavenging activities (DPPH, ABTS, ⦁OH, and FRAP) and α-glucosidase inhibition activities of soy sauce with 10% BMP at 90 days were shown to be high 96.07%, 97.27%, 59.47%, 1.98%, and 79.96%, respectively.

        Ahn and Cho (2011) suggest that Caseless fragments are just CPs directly dominating nonsentential NPs. The analysis of Caseless fragments in Korean raises non-trivial problems in three phenomena: P-stranding, quantifier scope, and anaphoric binding. Merchant (2004) argues that fragments and their sentential correlates show parallelism with respect to P-stranding. Interestingly, in Korean, P-stranding is allowed in fragments unlike their sentential correlates. We suggest that the apparent P-stranding is a consequence of the existence of Caseless fragments. Regard- ing scope interaction, Caseless fragments yield only wide scope reading with respect to another scope bearing element. We suggest that it is related to the complex structure of quantifiers put forward in Ahn and Cho (2012b). Following this analysis, quantifier fragments are all analyzed in some sense as Case-marked fragments. Hence, argument quantifier and adjunct quanti- fier can display the same scope patterns. With respect to anaphoric binding, we note that Caseless fragments of anaphors show distribution different from their full sentential correlates in both subject and object positions, which may further support our analysis of Caseless fragments in Korean; namely, Caseless fragments are directly generated as XPs without full sentential structures.
