‘그린뷰티’ 품종은 경기도농업기술원에서 2005년도에 육성한 절화용 장미 신품종이다. 이 품종은 2000년도에 화색이 분홍색이며 화형이 우수한 스탠다드 장미 ‘Qvarna’ 품종을 모본으로 하고 향기가 있는 노랑색 스탠다드 장미 ‘Sky Line’ 품종을 부본으로 하여 교배를 하였다. 2000년에 실생을 양성하여 화색과 화형이 우수한 13계통을 예비선발 하였으며 2001～2005년에 1, 2, 3차 특성검정과 품평회 결과 절화특성이 우수한 KR99-62-1(Gyeonggi R1-8)계통을 최종 선발하였다. 화색은 연한오렌지색과 녹색의 복색이며 중형 크기의 스탠다드 형태로 개화하고 화형은 반고심형이며 꽃잎수는 61.2매이고 향기 정도는 약한 편이다. 년간 절화수량은 178본/m2이고 절화장은 64.6cm이며 줄기직경은 6.0mm이고 엽수는 13.6매이며 절화중은 28.6g이고 절화수명은 14일이다.

‘레드플래시’ 품종은 경기도농업기술원에서 2005년도에 육성한 절화용 장미 신품종이다. 이 품종은 2000년도에 화색이 적색이며 화형이 우수한 스탠다드 장미 ‘Red Sandra’ 품종을 모본으로 하고 향기가 있는 다홍색 스탠다드 장미 ‘Neon’ 품종을 부본으로 하여 교배를 하였다. 2001년에 실생을 양성하여 화색과 화형이 우수한 90계통을 예비선발 하였으며 2002~2004년에 1, 2, 3차 특성검정과 품평회 결과 절화특성이 우수한 KR00-54-83(Gyeonggi R1-7)계통을 최종 선발하였다. 화색은 적색이며 스탠다드 형태로 개화하고 화형은 반고심형이며 꽃잎수는 35.7매이고 향기 정도는 매우 약한 편이다. 년간 절화수량은 123본/m2이고 절화장은 65.2cm이며 줄기직경은 6.6mm이고 엽수는 11매이며 절화중은 27.3g이고 절화수명은 7.6일이다.

A new cultivar of Rosa hybrida “Orange Flash” was selected from the progenies of a cross between “Lora” and “Timeless” at the Gyeonggi-Do Agricultural Research and Extension Services in 2000. It was finally selected in 2004 after investigation of the characteristics for three years (2002-2004). “Orange Flash” was developed for a standard type cut flower. The major characteristics of “Orange Flash” are 107stems/m2/year in yield, 24.8 in petal number and 10.9 days in vase life. The cultivar was applied for a variety protection in 2005, and was released to commercial growers in 2006.

The degree of pesticides accumulation in tap water in Taejon from June 1995 to Apr 1996 was measured by Ellman's coupled enzyme assay. Since organic phosphate and carbamate pesticides specifically inhibit the neurotransmitter modulating enzyme acetylcholinesterase(AChE), the enzyme activity can be used as a diagnosis for the pesticides accumulation in water and various samples. During the period of this study, the enzyme activity was changed almost every week. The lowest enzyme activity was 64 % of that of the control reaction and there are several days showing about 100 % enzyme activity. In general, the enzyme activity is higher in summer than other seasons especially early spring times. The pH value of tap water was very close to neutral(pH 7.0) and it seems that the enzyme activity was not affected by the small pH changes. Either boiling of tap water or addition of NaOH solution decomposed the pesticide components. These results show that AChE assay is a convenient, sensitive, and reliable method for detection of pesticides in water samples.
