        Lycopene, one of the major carotenoids in human diet, has been suggested as a healthful phytochemical compound. Recently, it is important to quantify lycopene content in the lycopene-containing foods. However, it has been difficult to analyze lycopene content in the lycopene-containing foods using a HPLC because lycopene is not fully extracted during sample pretreatment resulting in less reliable quantitative data. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of solvent on lycopene extraction from lycopene-containing foods for HPLC quantitative analysis. Two different solvents such as 100% acetone and methanol/acetone (1:1) mixture were used to extract lycopenefrom a commercial lycopene-enriched tomato concentrate (containing approximate 72 mg/g lycopene). All extracted samples were sonicated for 10 min, centrifuged, and filtered before injection into HPLC. The analysis of lycopene content was performed by an Ultimate3000 series HPLC system using a Unisol C18 column on UV detector at 450 nm. When the lycopene-enriched tomato concentrate was extracted using 100% acetone and methanol/acetone mixture for HPLC analysis, the lycopene contents were 75.88 and 39.84 (mg/g), respectively. As a result of quantitative analysis, acetone was able to extract lycopene fully from the lycopene-containing foods. The HPLC method established in this study might be useful to quantify lycopene in the lycopene-containing foods which are manufactured in various typessuchasbeverage, powder, tablet, and etc

        The Baermann funnel method requires three to four Kimwipes tissues for clean nematode extraction. To find more efficient and economical nematode extraction paper, 14 different kinds of tissue papers were tested and compared with Kimwipes tissues. Nematode species used in the extraction efficiency test were juvenile (J2) of Heterodera spp., J2 of Meloidogyne spp., Pratylenchus spp., Rhabditis spp., Acrobeloides spp., Panagrolaimus spp., Poikilolaimus spp. and Diplogasterida. Extraction efficiency varied between 42.0 to 88.8%. Considering costs, extraction efficacy, and cleanness, one sheet of Pulling Kitchen Towel (MONALISA Co., Korea) is selected.

        This study was carried out to investigate the antioxidant activities, total phenol, and flavonoid contents of 70% methanol, 70% ethanol, and chloroform-methanol (CM, 2:1, v/v) extracts from garlic (Allium sativum L.) peels. Antioxidant activity was evaluated by DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl) radical and ABTS [2,2′-azino-bis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6- sulfonic acid) diammonium salt] radical scavenging activity, β-carotene bleaching assay, and ferric reducing antioxidant power. Total phenol and flavonoid were in a range of 32.59-63.05 mg CAE/g, 5.26-9.22 mg QE/g, respectively. Total phenol and flavonoid were predominant with the values of 63.05±0.20 mg CAE/g and 9.22±0.17 mg QE/g in 70% ethanol extract. Additionally, 70% ethanol extract also displayed the strongest antioxidant activity followed by 70% methanol extract and CM extract in all assays. These results showed that garlic peel can be used as natural antioxidant in nutraceutical preparations to prevent human diseases.

        Consumption of fruits and vegetables has been conducted to be effective in the prevention of chronic diseases. In this study, 70% methanol, 70% ethanol and chloroform-methanol mixture (CM, 2:1, v/v) were used as solvents in the extraction of apple peels. The total phenol content, total flavonoid content and antioxidant activity of various extracts were investigated using in vitro assays. The extract obtained by 70% methanol showed the highest total phenol content (20.87±0.17 mg CAE/g), ABTS [2,2′-azino-bis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) diammonium salt] radical scavenging activity and ferric reducing antioxidant power. However, 70% ethanol extract possessed the strongest antioxidant activity assayed by DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl) radical scavenging activity and β-carotene bleaching method. And CM extract was found to show the highest total flavonoid content with the value of 9.26±0.06 mg QE/g. These results indicated that apple peels can be used in dietary applications with a potential to reduce oxidative stress.

        The objective of this study was to increase starch extraction efficiency from domestic potato by five kinds of foodgrade cellulases (mixture of β-glucanases, pectinase, cellulase, hemicelullase, and β-glucosdiase). Cellulase-treated potato had a maximum of 40% higher starch extraction yield than non-enzyme treated potato. It turned out that the shape and structure of cellulose-treated and nonenzyme-treated potatoes were the same. The average particle size of cellulose-treated potato starch was smaller than non-enzyme treated potato. Interestingly, the small starch granular (<10 μm particle) was shown in extracted starch from cellulose-treated potato. Rapid viscosity analysis showed that starch from cellulase treated potato had lower pasting temperature than starch from nonenzyme-treated potato. The range of the gelatinization temperature (49-62oC) of starches from cellulose-treated potato was broader than that of starches from nonenzyme-treated potato. Therefore, the results of this study confirm that cellulase plays an important role in the extraction of starch from the potato and physicochemical characteristics of potato starch.

        The present in vitro study was conducted to examine the effect of buffer solubility of eight protein feeds (coconut meal, distillers grain, sesame meal, perilla meal, soy source cake, rape seed meal, soybean meal and lupine) on the fermentation characteristics, degradability of dry matter (DM) and crude protein (CP), and methane (CH4) production by rumen microbes. Buffer extraction increased pH (P<0.05 ~ p<0.001) of the culture solution but tended to lower ammonia- N concentration for all protein feeds. Total volatile fatty acids(VFAs) and each VFAs concentrations in all incubation was decreased by buffer extraction (P<0.01 ~ P<0.001). Also, molar proportion of acetate in 1h (P<0.001), 3h (P<0.01) and 12h (P<0.05) incubations and molar proportion of propionate in 1h (P<0.001), 3h (P<0.01), 6h (P<0.05) and 12h (P<0.05) were decreased by buffer extraction. But molar proportion of butyrate in 1h (P<0.001), 3h (P<0.01) and 6h (P<0.05) were increased by buffer extraction. The in vitro effective degradability of dry matter (P<0.001) and CP (P<0.001) was decreased by buffer extraction. The methane production (P<0.01~P<0.001) in all incubation was decreased by buffer extraction. The results from in the current study might be useful for diet formulation to improve the feed efficiency of the ruminant animals without massive loss of major nutrients.

        The increasing interests on patents have led many individuals and companies to apply for many patents in various areas. Applied patents are stored in the forms of electronic documents. The search and categorization for these documents are issues of major fields in data mining. Especially, the keyword extraction by which we retrieve the representative keywords is important. Most of techniques for it is based on vector space model. But this model is simply based on frequency of terms in documents, gives them weights based on their frequency and selects the keywords according to the order of weights. However, this model has the limit that it cannot reflect the relations between keywords. This paper proposes the advanced way to extract the more representative keywords by overcoming this limit. In this way, the proposed model firstly prepares the candidate set using the vector model, then makes the graph which represents the relation in the pair of candidate keywords in the set and selects the keywords based on this relationship graph.

        큰느타리버섯의 아미노산을 함량을 분석하고, 70% 메 탄올, 95% 발효주정, 물 추출물의 항산화 활성을 측정하 였다. 아미노산 17종류 분석결과 필수아미노산에서는 체 내 단백질을 구성하는 Phe의 함량이 가장 높았고, 비필수 아미노산에서는 감칠맛을 내는 Glu가 가장 높은 함량을 보였다. DPPH 라디칼 소거능에서는 ASI 2887이 70% 메 탄올, 95% 발효주정, 열수 추출용매별로 34.37±1.19, 34.66±5.46, 40.97±1.65 mg/g으로 소거능을 보였고, 아질 산염 소거능 역시 열수추출물이 다른 추출물보다 소거능 이 높았으며 ASI 2820이 70% 메탄올, 95% 발효주정, 열수 추출물에서 각각 21.45±2.73, 33.32±1.06, 33.31±2.65 mg/g으로 추출용매에 상관없이 높은 아질산염 소거능을 보였다. 폴리페놀 함량도 열수 추출물에서 가장 높은 함 량을 보였고 가장 높은 함량을 보인 것은 ASI 2887로 DPPH 라디칼 소거능과 유사한 관계를 보이는 것을 확인 하였다. 큰느타리버섯은 아미노산과 생리활성 물질의 다 량 함유하고 있어 기능성 식품 및 건강식품으로서의 활용 이 기대된다.

        Recently, satellite image data has been widely used in various fields. Extraction of forest information is the field which has great application possibility. Forest type information can be used in forecasting and simulating soil erosion, landslides and debris flow as an important influence factor. Application of satellite imagery has advantages to obtain latest forest type information. NDVI calculated from near infra red band of satellite imagery represents vegetation activity, with seasonal difference of it forest type can be classified. In this study, we analyzed MODIS imagery from 2011 years to 2013 years in Gangwon-do where forest area is large and classified forest type with coniferous and deciduous forests. As a result, there was high correlation between forest type of digital map and it classified from NDVI. The possibility for extraction of forest type information from satellite imagery was confirmed.

        유기 발광 다이오드(OLED)는 차세대 조명으로 많은 관심을 받고 있으며, 디스플레이로서의 상용화에 이미 성공하였고, 대체 조명 시장에까지 그 영역을 넓혀가고 있다. OLED의 급격한 기술 발전에도 불구하고, OLED의 유 기층/투명전극과 기판에서 발생하는 내부 전반사에 의해서 일반적인 OLED의 외부 광자 효율은 현재 20~30% 정도에 머무르고 있는 실정이다. 따라서, 고효율의 OLED의 구현을 위해서는 고성능의 광추출 구조의 개발이 절실히 필요하 다. 내부 광추출 구조를 소자에 적용하기 위해서는 많은 어려움이 있으며, 특히 소자의 누설전류를 방지하기 위해서 광추출 구조의 표면 거칠기를 최소화하는 것이 매우 중요하다. 본 연구에서는 ZnO 나노파티클-투명 고분자 복합 구 조의 광추출 구조를 쉬운 제작 방법으로 구현하였으며, 나노파티클의 분산에 따른 광추출 구조의 광학적 특성 및 표 면 구조의 영향에 대해서 알아보았다.

        This study analyzes the chemical composition of green tea, white tea, yellow tea, oolong tea and black tea with respect to extraction temperature and time. The optimum extraction conditions for these teas were determined by assessing the chemical composition of tea brewed at different temperature (50, 60, 70, 80℃) and extraction times (1, 3, 5, 10 minute). Catechins contents were the largest at 5 minutes and generally declined by 10 minutes. Green tea catechins contents were highest when brewed at 70℃ and besides other teas a change of the trend variation at 70 and 80℃. These temperatures did not extract theaflavins in green tea. Extract temperature and time did not significantly affect theaflavins content of white tea, yellow tea, and oolong tea. Black tea, however, was noticeably dependent on extract conditions, which were most effective at 70℃, brewed for 5 minutes. Caffeine content of green tea, yellow tea, and oolong tea was highest at 5 minutes, but temperature did not appear to affect the content. White tea and black tea caffeine content was highest when brewed at 70℃ for 5 minutes. Theobromine content of green tea, yellow tea, oolong tea, and black tea did not show major differences between the study times or temperature, though the content in white tea increased with higher temperatures when brewed for 5 minutes. The extraction of phenolic compounds increased until 5 minutes, and showed not further increase at 10 minutes. Antioxidant capacity of green tea, white tea, and yellow tea were maximized at 70℃ for 5 minutes or 80℃ for 3 minutes, while oolong and black tea were reached maximum antioxidants at 70℃ for 5 minutes. In general, to optimize the beneficial chemical content of brewed tea, a water temperature of 70℃ for 5 minutes is recommended.

        Total phenol contents, total flavonoid contents and antioxidant activity of 70% methanol, 70% ethanol and chloroform-methanol (CM, 2:1, v/v) extracts from onion (Allium cepa L.) peels were studied. The IC50 values of DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl) radical and ABTS [2,2′-azino-bis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) diammonium salt] radical scavenging activity in 70% ethanol extract were remained to be lowest followed by 70% methanol extract and CM extract. And the total phenol content (113.56±0.86 mg CAE/g), total flavonoid content (49.63 mg QE/g) and ferric reducing antioxidant power value were also found to be the highest. In contrast, 70% methanol extract possessed the strongest antioxidant activity by β-carotene bleaching assay. CM extract displayed the lowest antioxidant activity compared with other extracts. Onion peels exhibited strong antioxidant activity and abundant phytochemicals, which could be used in a various food products to add phytochemicals and promote good health.

        The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of single antiplatelet treatment on delayed bleeding, in patients undergoing dental extraction. A total of 154 teeth were extracted in 94 patients with ongoing antiplatelet treatment, who were taking single antiplatelet of either aspirin or clopidogrel. All patients underwent simple dental extraction; local hemostasis was performed with gauze-biting, suturing, and/or application of a local hemostatic agent. Delayed bleeding was recorded in 5 teeth out of a total of 154 teeth after extraction, the incidence of postoperative delayed bleeding being 3.2%. The bleeding was controlled by the patients themselves, through application of pressure with additional gauze-biting. No one visited the doctor or emergency room for hemostasis. These results confirmed that patients taking single antiplatelet drugs may have teeth extracted safely without interruption of the antiplatelet treatment.

        Concerns about water quality in the Nakdong River have been raised because the Nakdong River will change from a lotic environment to a lentic environmental due to the installation of eight weirs to be constructed as part of the Four Major Rivers Restoration Project. The rapid urbanization and industrialization of the middle and the lower reaches of Nakdong River causes the indiscreet discharge of uncleanly living sewage and industrial wastewater. And the water quality of lower reaches of Nakdong River is getting seriously worse. Owing to the water shortage of Nakdong River and the closing of reaches because of the estuary dyke in the dry season, the velocity of a moving fluid is almost accumulated under 0.03m/sec. Then a pollutant is piled up on the bottom of the river. Polluted sediment is formed and nutrition level of water is increased more and more. The eutrophication state propagated to dark brown or green from eutrophication often comes out. Therefore in this study, we measured Chl. a of chlorophyll sensor (YSI6600V2) and aceton extraction through field observation in the Nakdong River and Samrangjin. And we evaluated the reliability of chlorophyll sensor. In correlation analysis between chlorophyll sensor and aceton extraction, it shows high relation in general. And it also shows high relation among the chlorophyll sensor and aceton extraction of the dominant diatom (Skeletonema costatum), Dinophyta (Prorocentrum minimum) in the Nakdong River estuary by laboratory analysis results.

        본 연구에서는 총백 특유의 향과 항산화 기능 등으로 알 려진 alliin과 allicin의 추출 최적 조건을 정립하기 위해 추 출용매, 추출온도, 추출시간 등을 달리하여 alliin과 allicin 의 함량을 측정하였다. 또한, 총백의 alliinase 활성화 조건 에 따른 allicin의 함량의 변화를 알아보기 위해 생총백을 물과의 혼합비율, 수침온도, 진탕시간을 달리하여 처리하여 allicin 함량을 비교하였다. 결과적으로, alliin은 총백 추출 조건 중 추출용매로 물을 사용하여 40oC에서 2시간 추출 하였을 때, 86.477 mg/g으로 최대함량을 보였으며, allicin의 경우, 70% ethanol, 70oC, 2시간 추출조건에서 1.371 mg/g 으로 최대함량을 나타냈다. 본 실험에서는 총백의 추출 조 건을 alliin의 함량이 크게 감소하지 않고, allicin의 함량이 최대로 추출될 수 있도록 70% ethanol, 70oC, 2시간으로 추출조건을 설정하였다. Alliinase 활성화 처리 조건에서는 생총백과 물을 1:1 혼합하여 40oC에서 30분간 진탕하였을 때, 0.111 mg/g로써 최대의 allicin 함량을 보였다. 본 실험 결과, 다양한 추출조건에서 alliin과 allicin의 함량이 높은 총백추출물을 제조함으로써 원가경쟁력이 높은 총백추출물 기반 기능성 소재 또는 식품을 개발하는데 기여할 수 있을 것으로 사료된다. 또한, alliinase 활성화를 통한 allicin의 최적 추출방법을 확립함으로써, 총백 이외의 마늘, 양파, 대파 등 allium 속 식물을 이용한 allicin 개발을 타겟으로 하는 연구자들뿐만 아니라 전반적인 기능성 식품 산업에 있어서 소재 개발을 위한 기초자료가 될 수 있을 것이다.

        The purpose of this study is to analyze the characters and images of Picasso's muses, to extract the color chip from the works of Picasso, and to apply these results to fashion design. The study includes a literature review, an analysis of visual materials. The results are as follows. Fernande, who was cheerful and voluptuous, was depicted with pink-brown, a few browns, grey, black, white, and green and represents an ethnic and elegant image. Eva, a star-crossed lover, was depicted with a few browns, black, and pale-yellow and represents a gorgeous and natural image. Olga, who was jealous and sickly wife, was depicted with a few blues, browns and neutral-color and represents a classic and dandy image. Thérèse, who was innocent and sweet, was depicted with the bright and pastel colors of red, green, violet, and yellow and of white, blue, brown, and black and represents a romantic, pretty, and casual image. Dora, who was intellectually and emotionally- challenging, was depicted with the strong colors of red, yellow, green, and blue, which are in contrast to black and also to white, grey and brown and represents a wild and dynamic image. Gilot, who was strong-willed and prideful, was depicted with the symbolic color of green, a color contrasting with black and white, grey, and pale brown and represents a clear, cool casual and modern image. Jacqueline, the self-giving and reclusive wife, was depicted with deep red, blue, green, black, white, dark brown, grey represents a formal, dandy, and chic image.
