        Background : This study was performed to investigate by antioxidant activity, total phenolic contents, total flavonoid contents, and effective component of Astragalus membranaceus treated with different artificial light Sources (fluorescent lamp, red, blue, green, white, LEP). Methods and Results : We investigated the effects of various artificial light sources on the DPPH radical activity, total phenol and flavonoid contents, tyrosinase activity and main flavonoid compounds contents (formononetin and calycosin) and other biological activities in A. membranaceus. Antioxidant activities were 53.6% as the highest level of activity under LEP light. Growth under LEP light also produced the highest total phenolic and flavonoid contents of 36.05 and 5.94 mg/ml, respectively. Extracts from plants grown under LEP light caused the highest inhibition of tyrosinase activity with inhibition of 35.37, 61.87, and 65.49%, respectively, for extract concentrations of 100 μg/ml, 500 μg/ml, and 1000 μg/ml compared with other artificial light treatments. Conclusion : Little information is available on the influence of LED and LEP light sources on antioxidant production or other biological activities in A. membranaceus. Our goal in this study was to determine the effects of LED and LEP artificial light sources on the production of new functional compounds in A. membranaceus.

        Sensory evaluation, in vitro antioxidant activities and main compounds of coffee water-extract, coffee liqueur (CL) and coffee-ground liqueur (CGL) were investigated to consider their industrialization. Sensory evaluation showed that all groups of CGL without 25% CGL (3 month) were relatively higher than CL groups. Total phenolic compounds and in vitro antioxidant activities such as 1,1-diphenyl-2picryl-hydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging activity and ferric reducing/antioxidant power (FRAP) were also performed. The group of 35% CGL had higher total phenolic compounds than others, and the result of DPPH radical scavenging activity was similar to that of total phenolic compounds. In addition, 35% CGL is comparable to the FRAP of coffee water extract (CE). Qualitative and quantitative analysis using high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) were performed, and chlorogenic acid as a ployphenolic compound and caffeine as a nonpolyphenolic compound were detected in all samples. Moreover, the HPLC analysis showed that CGLs contain a larger amounts of chlorogenic acid (difference of 0.3~10.5%) and also greater amounts of caffeine (difference of 10.0~18.2%) more then CE. Consequently, these results suggest that coffee-ground as coffee by-products could be used as commercially available food substances because of its physiological molecules remained.

        The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of horticulture occupation therapy program via healing garden which is increasing the emotional stability and hand Dexterity enhancement on pre-vocational rehabilitation of chronic mental disorder. The current study included 29 patients who were diagnosed as chronic mental disorder under the rehabilitation service at E capital hospital in Seoul from February to December 2010. All of patients participated with agreement in this study, then were divided randomly by experimental (n=17) and control groups (n=12). Therapeutic program was consisted with total 38 sessions, and performed once a week for 10 months. Experimental group was treated with horticultural occupational therapy program using a healing garden (one time), as well as general occupational therapy (four times) in a week. Control group was conducted only general occupational therapy five times a week. To evaluate the effects of program, physical and psychological stress test and hand dexterity test was used before and after program. The program was based on the person-centered therapy, then paired t-test was used to compare the results before and after the program. In the results of present study, there were no significant differences of psychological and physical stress between before and after the therapy in experimental and control group, respectively. However, hand dexterity of experimental group was markedly changed between before (112..4±50.9 sec) and after (82.1±40.6 sec) therapy. Moreover, the speed of performance in GPT was increased with rising therapeutic sessions, indicating the hand dexterity was improved after program. These results demonstrated that horticultural occupation therapy program using the healing garden is beneficial for pre-vocational rehabilitation of chronic mental disorder.

        The aims of this research were to examine whether horticultural activity is appropriate for personality education to prevent reformatory students from redelinquency, to make use of it for developing educational programs and to take advantage of the research as based information. In order to accomplish the purposes, the researches and surveys were taken in four parts targeting 262 reformatory students from five different Youth Detention Centers out of ten centers in the country: simple mental health diagnostic inventory, general characteristics, preferences of personality programs that are currently underway to juvenile delinquents in juvenile protection education institution, and awareness and preference of the plants and horticultural activities. First of all, as a result of simple mental health diagnostic inventory, ‘depression’ appeared to be the highest while ‘hostility’, ‘somatization’, ‘obsessional thinking’, ‘interpersonal sensitivity’, ‘anxiety’ and ‘psychosis’ emerged in the order. Secondly, as a result of preferences of personality programs, ‘social work’ appeared relatively the highest, while ‘Do-dream program’, ‘art therapy’, ‘career exploration’, and ‘sex education’ showed in the order. Thirdly, 53.3% students responded that personality programs through horticultural activities is desirable and 84% appeared that they prefer it. The most preferred plant species were fruit trees (strawberries, apples), flowers (roses, herbs) and vegetables (Scatter cucumbers, tomatoes). The most interesting garden activities were ‘growing (cultivation)’, ‘decorating (decoration and craft)’ and ‘feeling plants (appreciating).’ Therefore, it is well ascertained that juvenile delinquents in juvenile protection education institution consider introducing horticultural programs into personality education positive. Based on these results, it is identified that more various and specialized horticulture programs to prevent reformatory students from redelinquency should be developed for practical use.

        A total of CNU 28 colored hybrids developed at the Chungnam National University were evaluated to identify new cultivars with functionality. These color waxy corn hybrids appeared to have high antioxidant activity. The SOD activity in the developed color waxy corn was high; CNU13H-3, in white hybrid, and CNU13H-44, in yellow hybrid, was 5% and 27% higher than the Yeonnong and Daehakchal Gold 1 of control hybrids, respectively. The DPPH activity in CNU13H-44, of yellow hybrid, and CNU13H-75 of purple hybrid were high as 32.6 mg/g and 40.1 mg/g, respectively. We have already reported that color hybrids have high antioxidant activity. In this study also was same results. On the basis of our findings, these hybrids will be planted in next time to compare their productivity and area adaptation.

        The purpose of this study was to determine the possibility of using Wasabi japonica Matsum leaves as naturalhealth food source. To accomplish this purpose, the contents of general and antioxidative nutrients of Wasabi japonica Mat-sum leaves were measured. The contents of carbohydrate, crude protein, crude lipid and ash are 53.41%, 25.00%, 7.95%and 13.64%. And the calories of Wasabi leaves was 385.23Kcal. Total dietary fiber was 52.27%. The K was the largestmineral followed by Ca, P, Mg which means Wasabi leaves is alkali material. The contents of sinigrin and allyisothiocyanatein the wasabi leaves were 69.2㎎/g and 241.0㎎/g, respectively. Total phenol contents of the hot water extract and the 70%ethanolic extract were 19.44±0.23 and 19.33±1.17㎎ GAE/g, respectively. The total flavonoids content of the hot waterextract and the 70% ethanol extract were 7.69±0.71 and 19.25±1.41㎎ QE/g, respectively. The general nutrients andother antioxidant bioactive materials in Wasabi japonica Matsum leaves were also potential materials for good health food.

        본 연구는 인성 우수유치원으로 선정된 공립 유치원 1급 정교사가 1년간 수업에서 활용한 일일교육계획안을 대상으로 하여 일일교육계획안에 나타난 지속가능발전교육으로의 공존지향 적 유아교육에서의 교육내용 분석을 목적으로 하고 있다. 분석한 결과, 첫째, 일일교육계획안의 전체 생활주제에 나타난 공존지향적 유아교육의 범주별 교육내용 양상은 자아관 범주에서는 자유 교육내용이, 타인관 범주에서는 기본예절 교육내용이, 사회문화관 범주에서는 매체소양 교육내용이, 환경관 범주에서는 환경적 구성 교육내용이, 경제관 범주에서는 시장과 가격 교육 내용이 높은 발생빈도를 나타내었다. 둘째, 일일교육계획안의 각 생활주제에 나타난 교육내용 범주별 양상에서는 자아관과 타인관 범주에서 높은 발생빈도를 나타내었다. 셋째, 일일교육계 획안의 각 단위활동에 나타난 공존지향적 유아교육 내용은 등원과 간식 및 점심 단위활동의 경우 자아관의 자율 교육내용이, 자유선택활동, 바깥놀이, 평가 및 귀가, 이야기나누기, 문학활 동, 음악, 신체활동, 게임, 기타 단위활동의 경우 자아관 범주의 자유 교육내용이, 현장학습 단 위활동의 경우 자아관 범주의 평등 교육내용이 높은 발생빈도를 나타내었다.

        LED 광원을 달리하여 재배한 감초지상부의 항산화, 항돌연 변이원성을 평가하였다. BL-0에서 DPPH 라디칼 소거활성에 서 EC50이 3.02 ± 0.13 ㎍/㎖와 ABTS 라디칼 소거활성은 EC50 이 2.18 ± 0.18 ㎍/㎖와 환원력이 가장 높게 나타났다. 폴리페놀 함량은 2.93 ± 0.11 g/100 g으로 가장 높게 나타났으며, RL-0 에서는 항산화 활성이 가장 낮게 나타났다. 항돌연변이원성 평 가에서 직접변이원인 1-NP에 대해 모든 실험군에서 돌연변이 억제효과를 나타냈으며, 간접변이원인인 Trp-P-1, Trp-P-2, AFB1에 대해서는 BL-0에서 가장 높은 돌연변이 억제효과를 나 타냈고, 2-AA에서는 RL-1에서 돌연변이 억제가 높게 나타났 다. 청색광 LED (650 ㎚)와 적색광 LED (450 ㎚)를 이용하여 재 배한 감초지상부의 성분변화를 관찰하기 위해 GC/MS를 이용 해 분석한 결과 25분에서 RL-1에서만 cytidine이 검출되었고, 37분에서 BL-0에서만 2-bromotrimethylene glycol이 특정적 으로 검출되었다. 이는 LED광원 조건에 따라 감초 경엽의 성분 이 차이가 있음을 보여준다. 이 성분들이 생리활성에 어떤 영향 을 주는지는 더 검토해야할 부분이다.

        본 연구는 만성 뇌졸중 환자 30명을 대상으로 무작위로 실험군 17명과 대조군 13명으로 나누워서 주 5회 30분씩 12주 동안 실시 하였다. 실험군은 주 4회는 일반적인 작업치료(상지기능증진치료 및 일상생활훈련)를 실시하고, 주 1회 치료정원을 이용한 원예치료 를 실시하였다. 반면에 대조군은 주 5회 일반적인 작업치료만 실시 하여, 치료정원을 이용한 원예작업치료가 삶의 질에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 하였다. 실험결과 실험군과 대조군 모두 통계적으로 유 의하게 삶의 질 향상이 나타났지만, 실험군이 대조군보다 통계적으 로 높게 나타났다. 본 연구에서의 치료정원을 활용한 원예작업치료 프로그램은 환자가 활동을 이해하고 적절한 수준의 활동을 제시받 기 위해 작업분석 후 동기부여, 적응, 수행기술, 사회적응기술이란 4단계로 등급화(garding)하여 각 단계에 적합한 프로그램으로 구 성하였다. 치료정원에서의 원예활동프로그램을 통해 병원생활에 서 자기만족감이 향상되고, 우울감이 감소되어 삶의 질 향상으로 이어졌다고 사료된다. 이러한 결과를 통해서 만성 뇌졸중 환자에게 치료정원을 이용한 원예작업치료가 삶의 질에 미치는 영향을 주는 것으로 생각하지만, 원예작업치료 프로그램이 구체적으로 뇌졸중 환자의 삶의 질에 어떤 영향 미치고, 구체적 개선부분을 찾기엔 제 한이 있으므로 앞으로 지속적인 연구가 필요하다고 사료된다. 만성 뇌졸중 환자의 치료기간이 늘어나고 지역사회 중심의 재활치료공 간이 확대됨에 따라 장기치료계획의 수립이 필요하며 만성뇌졸중 환자가 지역사회에 생활 할 수 있는 활동 프로그램이 필요한 시기 라고 생각한다. 앞으로도 원예를 활용한 다양한 프로그램이 만성뇌 졸중 재활과정 및 삶의 질에 영향을 미칠 수 있는 연구가 필요하다 고 사료된다.

        The authors emphasize that the Republic of Kazakhstan is characterized by significant differences in the level of innovation capacity of regions. This article summarizes that the result of the monitoring of innovation potential of the regions are prerequisites for innovation policy adjustments, make it more dynamic, which ultimately contributes to its effectiveness. So, there are substantial differences in the level of innovation potential of the regions in the Republic of Kazakhstan, meanwhile it is noted that most regions’innovative features and potential can be assessed as average. After analysis of previously used methods, it can be concluded that the ranking of the level of innovation potential of regions takes place in the following order: High level of innovative potential: East Kazakhstan (3 matches), Almaty city (2 matches), Pavlodar (2 matches) and Zhambyl regions (2 matches); Low level of innovative potential: Almaty (2 matches), Mangistau (2 matches), West Kazakhstan (2 matches), Kyzylorda oblast (2 matches). In conclusion, it is emphasized that monitoring of innovative potential of regions creates the preconditions for innovation policy adjustments. These adjustments make the policy more dynamic and contribute to its effectiveness in the long run

        Solar variability is widely known to affect the interplanetary space and in turn the Earth’s electromagnetical environment on the basis of common periodicities in the solar and geomagnetic activity indices. The goal of this study is twofold. Firstly, we attempt to associate modes by comparing a temporal behavior of the power of geomagnetic activity parameters since it is barely sufficient searching for common peaks with a similar periodicity in order to causally correlate geomagnetic activity parameters. As a result of the wavelet transform analysis we are able to obtain information on the temporal behavior of the power in the velocity of the solar wind, the number density of protons in the solar wind, the AE index, the Dst index, the interplanetary magnetic field, B and its three components of the GSM coordinate system, BX, BY, BZ. Secondly, we also attempt to search for any signatures of influence on the space environment near the Earth by inner planets orbiting around the Sun. Our main findings are as follows: (1) Parameters we have investigated show periodicities of ~ 27 days, ~ 13.5 days, ~ 9 days. (2) The peaks in the power spectrum of BZ appear to be split due to an unknown agent. (3) For some modes powers are not present all the time and intervals showing high powers do not always coincide. (4) Noticeable peaks do not emerge at those frequencies corresponding to the synodic and/or sidereal periods of Mercury and Venus, which leads us to conclude that the Earth’s space environment is not subject to the shadow of the inner planets as suggested earlier.
