        Modernism is an internationally accepted design style. In addition, traditional Korean costume is not the clothing of the past, but its form is also used in modern fashion. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to examine the social and cultural contents of the morphological structure of traditional Korean costume, in order to derive the design characteristics of modernism and examine the global applicability of traditional Korean costume structure. For this study, photographic materials from museums, schematic drawings of relics, and Hanbok production books published by government agencies were analyzed. Further, this study examined traditional Korean costume, especially the modernism characteristics derived from Paul Greenhalgh and previous studies. The results are as follows. First, The traditional Korean costume is a cut based on basic shapes, along with a silhouette appears according to the background of the times. Second, the characteristics of modernism can be divided into universality, functionality, and simplicity. Third, as a result of analyzing the form structure of traditional Korean costume based on the characteristics of modernism, universality is expressed as standardized form, functionality as practical aesthetics, and simplicity as sustainable diversity. Furthermore, Korean costume has a difference in that was greatly influenced by various Eastern ideas and aesthetics of the late Joseon Dynasty. These findings provide a perspective of modern reinterpretation of the uniqueness and universality of traditional Korean costume in line with globalization by utilizing the design characteristics of modernism, an international style.

        In this study, the change in the mold opening stroke of important functional parts according to the 20, 50, 80, and 100% increase in the injection speed of a hydraulic 150 ton hydraulic injection molding machine was studied to verify the accuracy of the injection speed and mold opening stroke and the reproducibility of the standard deviation. The null and alternative hypotheses were confirmed by conducting hypothesis verification according to the experimental condition change using the experimental design method.

        This study investigates the melting point and brazing properties of the aluminum (Al)-copper (Cu)-silicon (Si)-tin (Sn) alloy fabricated for low-temperature brazing based on the alloy design. Specifically, the Al-20Cu-10Si-Sn alloy is examined and confirmed to possess a melting point of approximately 520oC. Analysis of the melting point of the alloy based on composition reveals that the melting temperature tends to decrease with increasing Cu and Si content, along with a corresponding decrease as the Sn content rises. This study verifies that the Al-20Cu-10Si-5Sn alloy exhibits high liquidity and favorable mechanical properties for brazing through the joint gap filling test and Vickers hardness measurements. Additionally, a powder fabricated using the Al-20Cu-10Si-5Sn alloy demonstrates a melting point of around 515oC following melting point analysis. Consequently, it is deemed highly suitable for use as a low-temperature Al brazing material.

        본 논문에서는 철근콘크리트 골조를 주 대상으로 하여 설계 및 시공 전 과정에 대한 디지털전환 전략과 기술개발에 대하여 기술하 였다. 건설 현장의 BIM 도입과 디지털 전환이 기대만큼 활성화되지 않는 중요원인을, 모델링 솔루션을 이용한 설계모델 구축의 생산 성과 후속 프로세스에서 요구하는 필요충분한 정보를 제공하는 완성도에서 찾을 수 있다. 특히 방대한 양의 상세설계 모델 구축에 소 요되는 과도한 노력과 단순반복 작업 과정에서 발생할 수 있는 인적 오류에 의한 정확성 결여는 건축 프로젝트의 디지털 전환 실현을 위하여 해결되어야 할 기술적 장벽이다. 이러한 배경에서 본 연구에서는 철근콘크리트 골조 공사를 대상으로 디지털전환과 현장적용 을 목표로 이를 실현하기 위한 개념적 전략 수립과 기술개발 사례에 대하여 기술하였다. 이를 위하여 시공 단계에서 필요한 상세설계 정보를 포함하는 건물골조 상세설계 BIM 모델링 기술개발 결과를 제시하고, 특히 배근상세설계 등 반복성이 높은 상세설계 업무를 자동화하여 기본설계 2D CAD 도면에서 출발하여 3D BIM 모델을 구축하고 상세설계 BIM 모델을 생성한 후 이를 활용하기 위한 플 랫폼 구축까지의 프로세스를 완성하였다. 제시된 자동화기술과 현장관리 플랫폼에 의한 프로세스는 CAD 도면 기반의 전통적 건설 프로세스를 대체하기 위해 요구되는 업무 생산성과 기술적 정보 완성도를 확보한 것으로 평가되었다.

        본 논문은 남성의 혼합형 수염 디자인과 나이추론 간의 관계를 분석하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위해, 혼합형 수염 유형을 제시한 뒤 표본이 지각하는 나이 와의 관계를 검증하는 형식으로 진행하였다. 이후, 통계적 검증으로 수염 디자인과 나이추 론 간의 관계를 분석하고 제시하였다. 전국 내국인 대상 20대~50대 이상 남녀이다. 온라인 설문지(네이버 폼)를 통해 배포되었다. 모집단을 대상으로 설문지를 배포하여 단순 무작위 추출법으로 표본을 추출한 뒤, 총 337부를 유효표본으로 활용하였다. 분석은 WIN SPSS 25.0 프로그램을 활용하였다. 연구 결과, 남성의 혼합형 수염은 그 디자인 유형에 따라 서 로 다른 나이를 추론하게 하였으며, 이 차이는 수염 디자인별로 통계적 유의미한 차이를 보였다. 본 연구는 이러한 결과를 통해 이론적 및 실무적 시사점을 논하며 향후 연구의 제 언을 제시하였다.

        본 연구는 남성의 수염 디자인 유형과 인상형성 간의 관계를 분석하는 것이 주 목적이 다. 본 연구는 남성의 수염 디자인을 살펴본 뒤, 연구에서 살펴볼 주요 수염 디자인을 설정 한 뒤, 인상형성 수준을 살펴보기 위해 인상형성과 관련된 측정 변수들을 설정하였다. 이후 수염 디자인과 인상형성 간의 상관관계를 분석하여 그 결과를 제시하였다. 연구를 위해 설 정한 수염 유형별 모델 실착 사진을 확보한 뒤, 수염 유형별로 인상과 관련된 측정 문항을 제시하여 최종 267부의 표본 응답을 통계분석에 활용하였다. 연구 결과, 남성의 수염 디자 인은 그 유형별로 타인이 지각하는 인상과 그 수준에 유의미한 차이를 보임을 확인하였다. 선행연구와의 차별점을 위해, 지각자의 인구통계적 차이에 따른 수염 디자인별 인상형성 요인 평가 평균을 분석하여 제시하였다. 이를 통해 퍼스널 브랜딩과 이미지메이킹 등 남성 개인의 인상형성을 비롯한 실용 미용에 기여하고자 하며, 이론적 및 실무적 시사점을 제시 하였다.

        The purpose of this study is to examine how similarities between product designs manifest themselves in various aspects and how these influences purchasing and usage behavior. Product design similarity evokes positive images, such as a sense of security and familiarity, as well as negative images, such as mimicry and copying. For example, if you have just transferred to another school and your uniform does not match everyone else's, you might feel alienated. On the other hand, in parks and on street corners, wearing the same clothes and belongings can lead to an awkward moment. In the realm of psychology, the former is called the bandwagon effect and the latter is the snob effect. In contrast to the snob effect, which emphasizes scarcity, the bandwagon effect can create fads and hits. People experience both of these emotions, and it is said that using them appropriately and combining them leads to an effective marketing strategy.

        The focus of this paper was on the establishment of a service design model for digital fabrication. Service design processes and tools were used to identify problems of current digital fabrication systems. Augmented reality was deployed to substantiate two-dimensional information by combining it with digital fabrication equipment to enhance interactivity and engagement. The fuzzy Delphi method was used to consult the expert’s opinions to optimize the model for increasing overall system satisfaction. A two-dimensional quality questionnaire was designed to survey the participant’s opinions on the system’s satisfaction. The result indicated that the participants reacted positively to augmented reality and the service design model. The result of this paper was helpful for the exchange and diffusion of digital knowledge to strengthen people’s interaction with information. It can improve the efficiency of entire value chains, including product development, marketing and service, which is crucial to future innovative design and fabrication practice.

        The spread of COVID-19 changes consumer preferences and behaviors greatly across the world. Extant literature has demonstrated that when there is a threat to disease, people stay away from those who do not seem healthy as they can be potentially infectious. Based on the previous literature, this research shows that individuals exposed to disease threat avoid products of which designs are high in visual complexity. When disease threat was present, individuals had lower purchase intention for products with complex designs. The perceived uncleanliness mediated the effect of visual complexity and disease threat on purchase intention. The findings provide a novel insight into the effect of disease salience on consumer perception of product design.

        Social marketing is a discipline promoting voluntary behaviour change in target audience to effect societal and individual benefits by applying commercial marketing strategies. Considering the UNFCCC mechanisms are established to foster voluntary cooperation of parties of the Paris Agreement (2015) in achieving their emission reduction targets and adaptation goals, potential for social marketing playing a critical role in contributing to the context seems endless. The Climate Technology Center and Network (CTCN), established in 2013, is an operational arm of the Technology Mechanism (TM) introduced by the Conference of the Parties (COP) under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. With the purpose of pursuing impactful mitigation and adaptation technology transfer based on global cooperation ontology, the CTCN supports technical assistance (TA) to developing countries on climate technology issues. Nevertheless, the participation rate of the domestic members in the CTCN TA project is low at 7 per cent. With this regard, little has known about what government support would benefit the Network members most, therefore, contributing to the global climate change issue. This research aims to respond to these calls. Three sequential studies outlining 4P strategy development were conducted. Study 1 conducted an online survey to identify pricing factors influencing participation of climate technology transfer business (RQ1). Study 2 tested four different types of government support program that will is most likely to encourage the Network member’s CTCN TA participation (RQ2). Study 3 pilot tested the most appropriate government support program, including a new communication strategy (RQ3). This research has taken climate technology experts’ perspectives in order to enhance the participation of 81 Korean Network members in climate technology projects. This paper contributes to applying the social marketing approach in expanding climate technology assistants globally, thereby purposefully bringing new theoretical and practical insights affecting the mitigation of carbon emissions and increasing the adaptation to climate-related disasters in developing countries.

        How to shifting consumer behavior to be more sustainable has been a hot research topic. The COVID-19 Pandemic has ignited this since consumers pay more attention to sustainability issues. Sustainability application (app) has been a promising way to connect individuals and provide information to promote a habit of sustainable consumption. The use of these apps to facilitate sustainable consumption has been a recent research focus. The strategy to encouraging app adoption is a research priority identified in a synthesized literature review of prior studies on mobile app marketing. As such, it is imperative to understand how to design sustainability apps to motivate consumers to facilitate app use intention. Attention, relevance, confidence, and satisfaction (ARCS) model is one commonly used motivational design model, which has been applied to mobile learning systems to examine gamification design. The four factors of ARCS correspond to different strategies to increase users’ motivation to use the app. Thus, the aim of this research is to develop an ARCS motivational model for sustainability apps. A simulated gamified sustainability app was utilized with the aim of reducing carbon footprint. A market research firm was contracted to collect data by using an online questionnaire. Respondents were shown the pictures and functions of the app including the interface of the app, carbon footprint status, the leaderboard of carbon emissions in the community, shop, personal profile and then answered questions. 346 usable questionnaires were obtained. Partial least squares structural equation modeling was used to analyze the data.

        Some digital platforms introduced a novel positive-framing design in the multi-dimensional rating system, which framed the attribute with positive words for consumers to rate. The results from a cross-platform quasi-natural experiment show that the positive-framing design can increase the rating scores compared with the traditional non-positive framing design.

        Metaverse tourism is blurring the boundaries between the virtual and physical worlds. Among the core technologies in the metaverse world (e.g., Avatar, Virtual reality, Augmented reality, NFTs, etc.), the avatar has the potential power to revolutionise customer experience. Destination management organisation (DMO) can boost customers’ immersion through effective avatar customer journey design (ACJD) in the metaverse world. Yet, there is a lack understanding of how practitioners view an effective ACJD in the metaverse world. This study aims to explore the role of avatars on customer journey design in a metaverse tourism program (e.g., Dunhuang) from practitioners’ perspectives through a qualitative study. This study advances theoretical understanding about metaverse tourism in the tourism literature, and provides important implications for tourism industry on how to design tourist experiences in metaverse tourism.

        In recent years, the trend of customer demand and personalization has become more and more obvious. The previous innovation model can no longer meet the diversified needs of consumers. Therefore, firms vigorously develop open innovation to promote internal and external innovation (von Hippel, 1988). With the rapid development of AI technology, open innovation communities have more interactions with the users. Organizations continue to rely on their open innovation community to collect innovative ideas from non-professional customers and then integrate them into their new product development process to produce innovative products that are more in line with customer preferences (Bayus, 2013). At present, the research on user design focuses on how to increase user design implementation and the idea popularity (Yang et al., 2022; Zhang et al., 2022). Few studies discussed how to motivate consumers to participate in innovative content output from the source. In addition, academic research on user design is mostly limited to management comments, lacking in-depth empirical research (Franke et al. 2008). Previous studies have proved that the number of leading users in the open innovation community is far less than that of non-leading users (Hofstetter et al., 2018), so it is very necessary to improve the willingness of users to participate in community creative activities. With the vigorous development of the new technology, it is an urgent problem to be solved to encourage users to participate in innovation activities and improve the innovation performance of firms (Chesbrough, 2012). Today, firms pay more and more attention on the implementation of AI technology. With AI and user design as the research background, “AI recommendation” and “willingness to design” as the key variables, and the “S-O-R model” and “Self-determination Theory” as the basis, this paper deeply explores whether AI recommendation can be used as a factor affecting user’s participation in design activities from the perspective of users, focusing on the intermediary role of user’s inspiration, competency and self-expression. It also puts forward that product involvement and aesthetic experience openness (Donghwy and Youn, 2018) are the boundary conditions that affect user’s willingness to participate in design. The results show that user’s willingness to participate in design is higher when providing AI recommedation, and the sense of inspiration, competence and self-expression play a mediating role in it. Furthermore, the results show that when product involvement is high, users are more willing to participate in design. Similarly, users with a high degree of aesthetic experience openness are more willing to participate in design activities. This study enriches the theory of enterprise community management, promote the internal information flow of the open innovation community, and provide theoretical guidance and reference for firms to optimize the new product design process.

        The GMT-Consortium Large Earth Finder (G-CLEF) is the first instrument for the Giant Magellan Telescope (GMT). G-CLEF is a fiber feed, optical band echelle spectrograph that is capable of extremely precise radial velocity measurement. G-CLEF Flexure Control Camera (FCC) is included as a part in G-CLEF Front End Assembly (GCFEA), which monitors the field images focused on a fiber mirror to control the flexure and the focus errors within GCFEA. FCC consists of an optical bench on which five optical components are installed. The order of the optical train is: a collimator, neutral density filters, a focus analyzer, a reimager and a detector (Andor iKon-L 936 CCD camera). The collimator consists of a triplet lens and receives the beam reflected by a fiber mirror. The neutral density filters make it possible a broad range star brightness as a target or a guide. The focus analyzer is used to measure a focus offset. The reimager focuses the beam from the collimator onto the CCD detector focal plane. The detector module includes a linear translator and a field de-rotator. We performed thermoelastic stress analysis for lenses and their mounts to confirm the physical safety of the lens materials. We also conducted the global structure analysis for various gravitational orientations to verify the image stability requirement during the operation of the telescope and the instrument. In this article, we present the opto-mechanical detailed design of G-CLEF FCC and describe the consequence of the numerical finite element analyses for the design.

        중국의 고령화 사회가 도래함에 따라 가족의 노후는 사회의 주 요 노후 방법 중 하나가 되었으며 중국인들은 음식, 특히 노인을 좋아하고 스스로 요리하는 것을 선호하며 음식 생산 장소, 주방 은 노인의 생활 공간의 일부로써 주택에서 자주 사용되고 가사 노동이 가장 집중되는 곳이며 노인에게도 사고가 발생하기 쉬운 곳입니다.무장애 장비와 시설이 완비된 무장애 주방은 노인의 능 력 부족을 극복하고 보상하며 노인에게 안전하고 편안하며 자립 적인 주방 생활 환경을 제공하고 노인의 생활과 정신의 요구를 충족시켜 삶의 질을 향상시킬 수 있다.본문은 자기관리 능력이 있는 노인을 연구대상으로 하여 노인의 생리적 특징과 심리적 특 징을 두 가지 차원에서 분석하고, 무장애 주방설계의 이념과 원 칙을 결합하여 주방공간의 평면배치와 조작과정, 주방입면의 설 계원칙을 설명하고, 노인의 주방작업의 행동패턴과 생리적 특징 을 통해 노인의 주방작업시 실제 수요를 분석하여 노인의 무장애 주방공간의 설계원칙과 주방설계를 제안한다.노인의 주방 업무에 대한 장벽을 줄이고 노동 강도를 줄이며 작업 효율성을 높이고 노인의 신체적, 정신적 편안함을 높다.동시에 관련 디자인 분야에 대한 참고 자료를 제공 한다.

        In this study, a survey focusing on the status of clothing interest, inconveniences resulting from clothing, preferred design items, etc. was conducted on 364 elderly women to suggest aesthetically and functionally appropriate indoor wear design for at home elderly women aged 60 years or older. The survey results showed that in general, the respondents’ interest in clothing was high, and more respondents in their 70s or older had difficulty in the action of opening and closing. With respect to considerations when purchasing clothes, color was considered more important than design as respondent’s age increased, and size was regarded as the most important factor especially among those in their 80s. The preferred top styles were T-shirts and blouses among those in their 60s and 70s, and T-shirts and shirts among those in their 80s. The preferred sleeve lengths were “below the elbow” and “above the wrist” in all age groups. The preferred sleeve hem type was “tightening” in all age groups. The most preferred bottom styles were “straight-leg pants” and “elastic waistband.” This study suggests the design items of indoor wear, including top, bottom, and overgarment for warmth, appropriate for elderly women at home based on the survey results. The study results are expected to serve as basic data necessary for the revitalization of the clothing industry for elderly women.

        This research introduced a command-filtered backstepping control of mirror system to maintain laser communication between satellite and ground station. This requires a 2 degree of freedom gimbal mirror system using DC motors for target acquisition, pointing, and tracking (APT) system. This APT system is used for laser communication between satellite and ground stations. To track these desired angles, we have to control DC motors using introduced command-filtered backstepping controller (CFBSC) with disturbance. Command filtered backstepping controller has second order filter instead differentiation for simple and fast calculation. Introduced command-filtered backstepping control gives a smooth control signal for intermediate states. Simulation results verify that CFBSC outperforms SMC in terms of tracking error and disturbance rejection.

        중국의 고건축물(古建築物)은 인류문명중의 걸작으로 고대인 의 출중한 지혜와 정밀한 기예 및 장인정신의 결정체이다. 이 들 건축물의 기세는 성대하며 건축양식의 풍채 또한 독특하며 정교하고 섬세하였다. 특히 중국 강남 지역의 고건축물은 원림 (園林), 수곽(水廓, 水鄕) 등과 청와(靑瓦)와 백벽(白壁)으로 이 루어진 독특한 풍경을 지니고 있다. 또한 그 청와와 백벽으로 이루어진 고건축물 중에서도 강남지역의 독특한 예술매력을 보 여주는 휘파(徽派) 건축이 가장 대표적이다. 오늘날 현대 장신구 디자인에서는 전통문화에 대한 전수와 계승, 그리고 정감 및 예술에 대한 사상의 구현을 더욱 중요시 하고 있다. 이에 본고에서는 강남지역의 청와와 백벽 건축물의 요소를 현대 장신구의 디자인에 유입함을 연구하였다. 휘파(徽 派)건축의 수묵(水墨)양식 건축은 청신하고 아담하며 고풍스러 운 느낌이다. 이는 현대 장신구의 수수하고 진중하며 개성적인 모습으로 전개되어 전통적인 장신구와의 귀족적적이며 화려하 고 고루함 등과 상대적으로 차별이 되었다. 이들 휘파(徽派) 건 축물과 현대 디자인은 예술형식의 융합이며 전통에 대한 추억 이다. 그러므로 본고는 현대 예술 디자인의 창조적인 탐색이다. 이를 바탕으로 장신구 디자인을 탐구하는 동학들에게 새로운 디자인의 창의와 폭넓은 사고에 도움이 되길 바란다.

        The production process of ultra-pure water (UPW) involves dozens of unit processes such as reverse osmosis (RO), pretreatments, membrane degasifier, and several ion exchange processes. Recently, continuous electrodeionization (CEDI) has replaced the 2-bed and 3-tower (2B3T) ion exchange process. As a result, the majority of wastewater in UPW production now comes from the RO concentrate. The important of RO in UPW production is to produce high-quality water with a low ion concentration (around 1 mg/L) for CEDI feed water. Minimizing RO concentrate is essential to reduce the wastewater produced in the UPW production process. This can be achieved by maximizing the recovery of the RO system. However, increasing the recovery is limited by the water quality of the RO permeate. To ensure high-quality permeate water, the RO system is designed with a two-pass configuration. The recovery of each pass in the RO system is limited (e.g., < 85%) due to the expected increase in permeate water concentration at higher RO feed water concentrations. Interestingly, tests using 4-inch RO modules with low concentration feed water (≤ 35 mg/L as NaCl) revealed that the permeate concentration remains almost constant regardless of the feed water concentration. This implies that the recovery of the first RO pass can be increased as long as the average feed/concentrate concentration of the second RO pass is less than 35 mg/L. According to this design criterion for the RO system, the recovery of the first and second RO pass, with a feed water concentration of 250 mg/L as NaCl, can be increased up to 94.8% and 96.0%, respectively. Compared to the conventional RO system design (e.g., 70% and 80% for the first and second RO pass) for UPW production, this maximum recovery design reduces the volume of RO feed and concentrate by up to 38.4% and 89.2%, respectively.
