본 연구는 동물매개교육을 통해 대학생의 긍정심리자본에 미치는 영향을 알아 보기 위 하여 시행되었다. 연구방법은 단일군 전후 실험설계 방법을 설계로 진행하였다. 긍정심리 자본은 조직과 개인의 발전을 초래하는 개인의 긍정적인 심리 상태로 자기효능감, 희망, 낙관주의, 복원력으로 구성되어 있다. 동물매개교육이 대학생의 긍정심리자본향상에 영 향을 미친다는 것이 본 연구의 결과이다. 따라서 대학 교육에서 동물매개교육 프로그램을 도입하여 학생들의 긍정 심리자본을 향상시키는 데에 기여할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

본 연구는 아동 및 청소년을 대상으로 한 동물매개중재 연구의 동향을 파악하기 위해 2011년부터 2021년까지 발표된 학술지 논문 및 학위논문을 국내 69편, 국외 123편을 분석하여 연구의 흐름에 대한 기초자료를 제시하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 발표연도, 프 로그램 유형, 연구대상 연령, 연구대상 유형, 중재효과를 기준으로 분석한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 국내 동물매개중재 연구는 꾸준히 증가하는 국외 동물매개중재 연구는 감소 하는 추세이다. 둘째, 동물매개교육, 동물매개중재, 동물매개치료, 동물매개활동이 다양하 게 연구되고 있으나 국내, 국외 모두 동물매개치료가 가장 활발하게 연구되었다. 셋째, 국내는 주로 청소년을, 국외는 주로 아동을 대상으로 동물매개중재 연구가 진행되었으며, 자폐스펙트럼 장애를 앓고 있는 경우가 가장 많았다. 다섯째, 동물매개중재 연구에서 국 내, 국외 모두 사회성 향상이 효과적으로 나타났다. 연구결과에 따라 향후 동물매개중재 연구에 대한 동향 분석의 방향성을 제시하였다.

현대 사회에 들어와 우리는 기술의 발전에 따른 다양한 혜택을 누리며 풍요롭고 안락한 삶을 영위할 수 있게 되었다. 그러나 이 과정에서 지나친 개발로 인해 생명경시 태도와 인격체에 대한 경시 사상 또한 함께 퍼지게 되었고, 이는 정서지능이나 인성에 대한 가치관이 확립되는 아동기에 좋지 않은 영향을 준다. 이에 본 연구에서는 동물매개교육 프로 그램이 초등학교 3학년 아동의 생명존중 의식과 인성에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 알아보고자 하였다. 본 연구의 대상자는 J도 I시 소재 초등학교 3학년 아동 24명을 대상으로 사전‧사후 점수 비교법을 통해 결과를 얻었다. 동물매개교육 프로그램은 2019년 3월 29일 부터 2019년 5월 31일까지 주 1회씩 총 10회기를 실시하였다. 연구 결과로 동물매개교 육이 대상 아동의 생명존중 의식과 인성에 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났으며 실시한 생명존 중 의식 척도와 인성 척도 사전‧사후 검사를 통해서도 유의한 차이가 있었다. 따라서 본 연구를 통해 동물매개교육이 초등학교 3학년 아동의 생명존중 의식과 인성 향상에 긍정적인 효과가 있음을 알 수 있다.

The activities with animals in the fields of educational practice has been increasingly popular, The aim of this article is to provide a systematic review relating to animal-assisted interventions in the fields of school educational practices. Most studies reported significant benefits of animal-assisted interventions in the school setting. Furthermore, a worrying lack of reference to risk assessment and animal welfare must be highlighted. Taken together, the results of this review show promising findings and emerging evidence suggestive of potential benefits related to animals in school settings. The review also indicates the need for a larger and more robust evidence base driven by thorough and strict protocols. The review further emphasizes the need for safeguarding for all involved—-welfare and safety are paramount. Future research employing more rigorous designs and systematically building upon a clearly defined line of inquiry is needed to advance our knowledge on the potential beneficial effects of the animal-assisted interventions in the fields of school educational practices.

This article provides a review of research published since 1990 on the beneficial effects and current situation of animal assisted education. Animal Assisted Education (AAE) is goal-directed interventions designed to promote improvement in cognitive functioning of the person(s) involved and in which a specially trained dog-handler team is an integral part of the educational process. AAE is directed and/or delivered by an educational professional with education, licensure, and specialized expertise and within the scope of education. AAE may be provided in a variety of settings, may be group or individual in nature and may be implemented for persons of any age. There are specific educational goals for each individual involved and the process is documented and evaluated. Future research employing more rigorous designs and systematically building upon a clearly defined line of inquiry is needed to advance our knowledge on the potential beneficial effects of the education programs trough animal-assisted intervention with animals.

본 연구는 동물매개교육 프로그램을 통한 초등학교 학생들의 심리･정서 치유 및 생 명·존중의식 향상이라는 주제로 2014년 3월1일부터 2015년 2월 28일까지 진행이 되었으며, 전교생 중에 동물매개교육을 희망하는 학생 14명을 선발하여 진행이 되었다. 연구도구로는 6개의 변수(불안, 우울, 품행장애, ADHD, 생명존중의식)에 대한 사전 사 후 검사를 별도 측정해 프로그램의 효과를 확인하고자 하였다. 연구방법으로는 사전· 사후검사를 통한 변화를 특정 하였다. 동물매개교육이 프로그램 참가 학생들의 심리· 정서 불안요인에 끼친 영향을 살펴 본 결과, 모든 영역에서 유의미한 차이가 나타났으며, 생명존중의식 또한 유의미한 결과가 나타났다. 이번 사례를 통해 동물매개교육프 로그램이 초등학생들에게 긍정적인 영향을 미친다는 사실을 알 수 있었다.

Animal Assisted Education (AAE) is goal-directed interventions designed to promote improvement in cognitive functioning of the person(s) involved and in which a specially trained dog-handler team is an integral part of the educational process. The purpose of this manuscript is to report a pilot study of animal assisted education in Seongdang Elementary School in Iksan City, Jeollabuk-do. We conducted the study of animal assisted education program with 16 elementary school students in Seongdang Elementary School in Iksan City, Jeonbuk. This program had a total of 12 sessions as one secession per a week for a period of 12 weeks, which took around two hours for a session. As the results, we found he positive improvement effects of anxiety, depression, ADHD and, conduct disorder by animal assisted education program. Also, animal assisted education program had a positive impact on the elevation of attention potency, activity and positivity of the subject students. In conclusion, animal assisted education program could be used effectively for the improvement of education efficiency and problem solving for the young students.
