        본 연구에서는 인디안구스베리(암라), 찔레나무, 쏘팔메토열매를 5:1:1 비율로 Complex하고 추 출하여 0%, 0.5%, 2.5%, 12.5%, 100%의 NF Complex를 제조하였다. 제조한 NF Complex로 탈색한 시 료 모발에 도포 후 손상된 모발과 비교 · 분석하였다. 개선 효과를 확인하기 위해 인장강도, 광택, 흡광도, 명도를 측정하였다. 측정 결과 인장강도는 증가하였다. 광택은 함량이 100%는 감소하고 나머지 함량은 증 가하였다. 흡광도는 손상모와 대조군과의 차이가 있어 개선 효과가 있는 것으로 보인다. 명도는 변화는 있 으나 미미하였다. NF Complex의 평균값은 유의미한 차이가 있음을 확인하였으며 추후 다양한 추출방법 및 혼합 비율에 따른 연구가 필요하다고 판단된다.

        LNG propulsion ships are actively being built as an eco-friendly fuel for ships, and ships with C-type LNG tanks are being widely built. In order to analyze the risk of LNG venting from operating ships and test-run ships, the flow characteristics according to operating conditions were reviewed using ANSYS FLUENT, a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software. As a result of the study, it was confirmed that the distribution area exceeding the lower explosion limit of natural gas and the area where the natural gas temperature rose to 17 ° C had similarities. In addition, it was confirmed that the change in the horizontal direction was greater than the change in the vertical direction when the natural gas distribution range was changed. Since the valve opening has a greater effect than the tank pressure, if natural gas must be vented to the atmosphere inevitably, the risk can be reduced by operating the valve opening at 50% or less.

        본 연구는 여성들의 천연 에센셜 오일에 대한 인식 및 사용실태 정도를 연구하 고자 2023년 3월 23일부터 4월 24일까지 대전광역시, 세종특별자치시, 충청남·북 도 지역에 거주하는 10-50대 이상의 여성 300명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였 다. 수집된 자료는 통계 프로그램 SPSS(Statistical Package for Social Science) 28.0를 사용하여 분석하였으며, 이에 따른 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 연구 대상자 의 일반적 특성으로 연령대로는 50대 이상(39.7%), 결혼 유무별로는 기혼(81.7%), 직업별로는 전문직(27.0%)이 가장 많았다. 최종학력별로는 대학교 재/졸(47.3%) 가 정의 월평균 소득별로는 300-400만원 미만(34.0%)이 가장 많았다. 천연 에센셜 오 일에 대한 인식으로 천연 에센셜 오일에 대한 인식수준은, 천연 에센셜 오일은 직사광선을 피하고 서늘한 곳에 보관해야 한다.’는 정답(98.0%), 천연 에센셜 오일에 대한 지식수준은 연령별로는 50대 이상(M=8.66), 아로마테라피에 대한 인지도는 30대(M=3.23)가 가장 높게 나타났다. 천연 에센셜 오일의 사용 실태에서 처음 사 용한 시기는 40-49세(27.7%), 사용하게 된 계기는 주위의 권유(39.0%), 사용하는 주된 이유는 스트레스 완화(42.7%), 사용하는 시기는 기분 전환이 필요할 때 (40.0%), 주로 사용하는 형태는 블렌딩 오일(43.7%), 사용하는 정도는 2-3일에 한 번(37.3%), 이용하는 주요 부위는 얼굴/목(34.4%), 현재 사용하는 오일은 라벤더 (11.6%)로 나타났다. 이의 결과는 추 후 아로마테라피 분야 연구에 따른 기초자료 로 활용 가능성이 높은 것으로 사료되어진다.

        커피 부산물을 이용하여 대체실험동물 모델인 제브라피쉬 배아 독성 및 미백 효능에 대한 실험 을 진행하였다. 커피 부산물 추출물을 처리한 배아 독성 실험의 결과 24, 48, 72hpf에서 125ppm 농도에서 는 각각 3, 3, 5%로 응고율을 나타냈다. 배아의 부화율은 최고 농도인 125ppm에서 73%를 나타냈다. 제브 라피쉬 치어의 심장 박동수 실험에서 72hpf 후 심박수가 125ppm 농도에서 153회/60s’로 확인되었다. 음 성대조군은 148회/60s’으로 대조군의 비해 심박수의 변화가 크지 않았으며, 낮은 독성을 나타냈다. 또한 미백효능을 평가한 결과 커피 부산물 추출물의 농도가 증가할수록 멜라닌 형성이 저해되는 것으로 나타났 다. 본 연구 결과를 통해 천연 유래 부산물 소재가 화장품 원료로 활용할 수 있다는 가능성을 제안하며, 천 연 부산물의 부가가치를 높이는 연구 예시로서 화장품 산업에 활용되기를 기대한다.

        The conditions for minimizing dyes and additives when dyeing cellulose fibers such as linen, ramie, and hemp fabrics were obtained using glucose, an organic reducing agent. Dyeability and colorfastness were measured through repeated dyeing. The overall surface dyeing concentration followed the linen>hemp>ramie order, and most of the colors were in the range of PB (PurpleBlue). As the glucose concentration increased, the blue series was strengthened, and the color was dark and clear. It was determined that glucose the concentration of 4g/L was appropriate for minimizing the amount of dye. When the dyeing temperature was 30℃, the surface dyeing concentration was the highest, and the color was dark and clear. Although the dyeing concentration increased as NaOH concentration increased, 3g/L (pH 12.37) was considered appropriate for the minimum NaOH concentration, which becomes gradual after the dyeing concentration increased rapidly. It was found that the surface dyeing concentration, when repeated six times for 5 min, was better than that of dyeing once for 30 min. Washing, rubbing, and perspiration colorfastness were all found to be excellent in grades 4–4-5, and colorfastness to light was excellent in grades 5 of linen and hemp and grade 4 of ramie.

        In this study, natural dyeing using Polygonum tinctoria was performed with linen, ramie, and hemp, which are biodegradable cellulose fibers, considering environmental aspects. In particular, the impacts of alkali NaOH and reducing agent Na2S2O4 were examined, and the possibilities of minimizing the use and reusing the dye were explored. The surface dye concentrations were found to be in the following order: hemp>linen>ramie. With the increase in all additives, the L* value decreased, and the ⊿E and K/S values increased gradually. When Na2S2O4 was 1g/L, the surface color of the dye appeared uniformly from the NaOH concentration of 0.4g/L (pH 10.84). When NaOH was 0.4g/L, the K/S values of linen and ramie increased rapidly after 0.4g/L of Na2S2O4, and hemp maintained a stable color from 0.6g/L of Na2S2O4. With the increase in the dye concentration from 1 to 6g/L, all the fibers were dyed uniformly. The K/S value increased or higher doubled upon repeated dyeing six times for 5 min than when dyed only once for 30 min. Therefore, the linen, ramie, and hemp fibers dyed repeatedly exhibited good washing, rubbing, and colorfastness to perspiration, which was rated between 4 and 4–5, and that to light was rated as 5. Moreover, no discoloration due to sunlight was observed. Finally, linen exhibited a bacterial reduction of 99.9%, thereby indicating its excellent antibacterial property.

        To increase antioxidant and antibacterial activities of seasoned soy sauce, five kinds of oriental medicinal plant(Scutellaria baicalensis (P1), Coptis japonica makino (P2), Citriunshius pericarpium (P3), Zizyphi spinosi semen (P4), Crataegus pinnatifida (P5)) and four kinds of medicinal mushrooms(Inonotus obliquus (M1), Hericium erinaceus (M2), Phellinus linteus (M3), Lentinula edodes (M4)) were added to seasoned soy sauce. Soluble solid content, pH, salinity, total polyphenol & flavonoid contents were determined. DPPH & ABTS radical scavenging activities, SOD-like activity, and antibacterial activity were analyzed. Experimental sauces showed decreased pH but significant increases of soluble solid content and salinity. Total polyphenol content was 12.76 μg GAE/g in the control. However, M1 and P1 sauce had significantly higher polyphenol contents at 352.14 and 528.25 μg GAE/g, respectively. Total flavonoids content also showed the same pattern. DPPH free radical scavenging activity was the lowest in the control at 15.75%. It was the highest at 81.80% in M1 and 68.88% in P1. ABTS free radical scavenging activity and SOD-like activity showed the same tendencies. They were higher in the experimental groups than in the control. As for the antibacterial activity analyzed by the paper-disc method, the activity increased the most in P1 and P2. In particular, P2 had the strongest antibacterial activity. Its activity against different microorganisms was in the order of Staphylococcus aureus > Bacillus cereus > Escherichia coli > Salmonella typhimurium. In conclusion, these new sauces show increased antioxidative and antioxidant activities. Therefore, they are expected to be used in various ways as a functional soy sauce.

        PURPOSES : This study describes the experimental findings on the mechanical properties of calcium aluminate cement (CAC)-based repair mortars with or without natural cellulose fiber (NCF). Additionally, the effect of adding NCF to the reduction of fugitive dust in the CAC powder was examined. METHODS : To produce mortar, four different levels of NCF (0.0.5, 1.0, and 2.0% by binder weight) were adopted, and the water-binder ratio was fixed at 0.485. The flow, strength characteristics, absorption, and surface electrical resistivity of the mortars were measured at predetermined periods. Additionally, SEM observations were performed to examine the microstructural changes and hydrates formed on the 28 day-mortar samples. RESULTS : The addition of NCF led to a decrease in fugitive dust. Regarding the mechanical properties of the mortars, that with 0.5% NCF exhibited a better performance in terms of strength development and surface electric resistivity compared to those of other mortars. However, the addition of NCF was less effective in the enhancement of the absorption of mortars. Further, we discovered that the microstructures of the mortars with additional NCF were comparatively dense compared to those without NCF. CONCLUSIONS : The appropriate addition of NCF can enhance the performance of CAC-based repair materials. However, further studies on the durability of CAC with the addition of NCF are needed to determine the optimal mixture.

        Flexible zinc-air batteries have many merits, including low cost, high safety, environmentally friendliness applicability, etc. One of the key factors to improve the performance of flexible zinc-air batteries is to use a gel electrolyte. In this study, gel electrolytes were synthesized from potato, sweet potato, and corn starch. In a comparison of each starch, the corn starch-based gel electrolyte showed the highest discharge capacity of 12.41 mAh/cm2 in 20 mA and 6.47 mAh/cm2 in 30 mA. It also delivered a higher specific discharge capacity of 7.06 mAh/cm2 than the other materials after 100° bending. In addition, the electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) was analyzed to calculate the ionic conductivity. The potato, sweet potato, and corn starch-based gel electrolytes showed electrolyte resistances (Re) of 0.306, 0.298, and 0.207 Ω, respectively. In addition, the corn starch-based gel electrolyte delivered the highest ionic conductivity of 0.121 S cm-1 among the other gel electrolytes. Thus, the corn starch-based gel electrolyte was verified to improve the performance of flexible zinc-air batteries

        Asthma is a chronic inflammatory disease characterized by recurring symptoms, airflow obstruction, and bronchial hyper-responsiveness. The onset of asthma for most patients begins early in life, and current asthma treatment with anti-inflammatory agents can have adverse effects, eventually leading to impaired quality of life. In the pathogenesis of asthma, macrophages and basophils play a vital role during progression. Macrophages not only induce inflammation by secreting inflammatory cytokines but also promote DNA damage and mucus production through nitric oxide (NO) production. Basophils enhance eosinophil recruitment and aggravate asthma through the FcεRIα receptor with high affinity for histamine and IgE. Therefore, in this study, we investigated whether the activation of macrophages and basophils is suppressed by the individual extracts of 28 natural products. RAW 264.7 cells (mouse macrophages) were treated with the natural products in LPS, and 4 natural product extracts resulted in decreased NO production. In β-hexosaminidase assay using RBL-2H3 cells (rat basophils), 19 natural product extracts decreased β-hexosaminidase production. In NO production and β-hexosaminidase assay using macrophages and basophils, 3 natural product extracts (Plantago asiatica, Centella asiatica, and Perilla frutescens var. japonica) significantly inhibited NO production and β-hexosaminidase release. Overall, we examined the inhibitory effects of 28 natural product extracts on macrophage and basophil activity, and the findings demonstrated the potential of natural product extracts for treating asthma and macrophage- and basophil-related diseases.
