        The purposes of this study were to assess dietary intake obtained by easy method and to compare dietary behavior of house wife and female college students in Yanbian. The subjects consisted of 276 house wives and 228 female college students. Mean daily energy intake of house wives was 1926.0kcal and that of female college students was 1949.0kcal. Calcium intake as NAR(Nutrient adequacy ratio) was lowest in house wife and female college student. Iron intake was also low in subjects and lower in female college student than in house wife. Meal frequency per day was regular in subjects. Skipping meal time in subjects was breakfast and snaking time was late evening generally. Frequency of eating out was rare in most subjects and 60.6% of subjects preferred chinese food in eating out, while house wives preferred Korean food than female college student in eating out. The vegetables were preferred than meat or fish and used by fried in sauces. Hot and sour tastes were more like than greasy taste in subjects. Nutrient intake levels and dietary behaviors of house wife were to be like as those of female college students in general. BMI(Body mass index) was lower in female collage students than house wives, similarly in Korean. According to these results, house wives and female college students in Yanbian had similar dietary patterns. Calcium intake was tend to be low and dietary pattern was regular, dietary qualifies of subjects were adequate. Nutrient intake and dietary pattern in Yanbian were to be like as in Korean, and the Korean-Chinese in Yanbian maintained traditional dietary pattern.

        This study was conducted to assess dietary intake and quality obtained by 24-hour recall method between Korean-Chinese in Yanbian, China(Korean-Chinese) and Koreans in Kuri, Korea(Koreans). The subjects consisted of 730 Korean-Chinese and 696 Koreans. Mean daily energy intake of Korean-Chinese was 1,788kcal and that of Korean was 1,844kcal. Proportions of energy intake from carbohydrate, fat, and protein were 62.6: 16.9: 14.2 for Korean-Chinese and 65.4: 16.3: 14.4 for Koreans. Nutrient intake levels of Koreans were higher than those of Korean-chinese in most nutrients. Calcium and vitamin B2 intakes as percent of Korean RDA were less than 60% in Korean-Chinese. Koreans consumed calcium and vitamin A in the level less than 80% of Korean RDA. Iron intake level of Korean females was less than 75% of Korean RDA. Korean-Chinese consumed 90.4% of food from plant origin, and Koreans consumed 82.5% of food from plant origin. Mean dietary diversity score(DDS) of Korean-Chinese, 3.00±0.39, was significantly lower than that of Koreans, 3.73±0.76(p<0.05). Mean dietary variety score(DVS) of Korean-Chinese, 13.6, was significantly lower than that of Koreans, 20.1(p〈0.001). According to these results, some adults in the both Korean-Chinese and Koreans did not consume enough nutrients, especially calcium and vitamin B2 intake for Korean-Chinese and calcium and vitamin A intake for Koreans. Dietary qualities of Korean-Chinese subjects and Korean females were not adequate. In the future, further research to promote dietary quality of Koreans including Korean-Chinese must consider the results of this study.

        Broadband networks are designed to support a wide variety of services with different traffic characteristics and demands for Quality of Services. Bandwidth allocation methods can be classified into two major categories: static and dynamic. In static allocation, bandwidth is allocated only at call setup time and the allocated bandwidth is maintained during a session. In dynamic allocation, the allocated bandwidth is negotiated during a session. The purpose of this paper is to develop policies for deciding and for adjusting the amount of bandwidth requested for a best effort connection over such as ATM networks.. This method is to develop such policies that a good trade off between utilization and latency using cell delay variation to the forecast the incoming traffic in the next period. The performances of the different polices are compared by simulations.

        The purpose of this study was to investigate the kinds and way of using traditional foods for korean traditional days, and to identify prohibitive foods for pregnant and lactating women, and sick people taking into account the cultural aspects and the belief of korean housewives in Yanbian. The data were collected from August to December of 1995 in Yanbian area of China. The questionaire was designed to find traditional and prohibitive foods for them. The results provide some implications regarding the impact of cultures in understanding the perceptions to traditional foods as well as prohibitive foods. The perception on the development of traditional fast food and traditional food and menu is higher in Yanbian area than in korea but the frequency to use traditional fast food is similar in two areas.

        The survey was made to learn Yanbian Korean housewives' knowledge of Korean traditional holidays and foods. The questionaires were answered by 143 Korean housewives living in Yanbian region. The results are summarized below. 1. 94.6% of the respondents acknowledge that the Korean traditional holidays should be inherited. And 47.0% of them answered that the Korean traditional foods should be inherited as they have been, but 51.0% replied that the traditional foods need to be slightly modified. 2. The percentages of those who have knowledge of the Korean traditional holidays are 98.7% for Seolnal, 97.3% for Chusuk, 96.6% for Jongwol Daeborum, 94.6% for Dongji, 90.6% for Dano. However, the percentages of those who know about Jungyangjeol, Yudeu, Muojeol and Samjitnal are lower than 10%. 3. Regarding the Korean traditional foods, more than 80% of the respondents have knowledge of Naeongmyun (96.6%), Gejangguk (94.0%), SiruD'ock (94.0%), Ogokbab (87.2%), Mulmandu (86.6%), Patjuk (94.0%), and D'ockguk (82.6%). And Naeongmyun, Mulmandu, Gejangguk, Kalgulksu were consumed most frequently. 4. It is found that Kimchi (97.9%), Soy-sauce (88.4%), and Sseokjang (72.6%), Hot-pepper paste (69.1%) are mostly made at home. The number in the parenthesis indicates the percentage of those who make the food at home.

        An individual's eating behavior reflects not only the eating habits of past but also the type of them which characterize the next generation's. A great difference had been observed between western and oriental food lifestyle. By the frequent contacts with each other, however, current oriental food lifestyle is apt to be much westernized. But the food culture of Chosun tribe in Yenbeun, in spite of natural, local, cultural and social demographical factor of change, has been almost preserved in basic convention for 140 years. It can be observed in choice, acceptance and fixation of food that the management of traditional food and eating behavior has been subtained preserving their unique tradition in Chosun tribe.

        This study was conducted to understand the variation characteristics of suspended solid in the Keum River Estuary. Water sampling was carried out regularly with response to the tidal cycle from September, 1986 to August, 1987. Analyzed or observed items were sea water temperature, salinity, TS, TDS, TSS, VSS, FSS. and also the relationships between wind velocity, precipitation, tidal cycle and TSS were investigated. It is found that the sea water temperature is the lowest in January(2.5℃)and the highest in August(24.4℃), and increases toward upstream in summer and vice versa in winter. Salinity is the lowest in August (13.6‰) and the highest in December(20.3‰), and the annual mean value shows 13.6‰. TS and TDS are firmly related with the variation of salinity, thus, high in spring and low in summer. The annual mean values of TSS in 199.8(65.3∼454.5)㎎/ℓ, highest in March 308.2(67.5∼792. 3)㎎/ℓ and lowest in June 36.8(10.9∼200.0)㎎/ℓ. The annual mean values of VSS is 22.0㎎/ℓ, its variation tendency is similar to that of TSS. The annual mean value of VSS /TSS ratio is 13.9(6.8∼20.2)%, which are not high level compared with those of polluted sea areas. This ratio is high in summer(24.1%) and low in autumn(13.3%), and increases toward the downstream direction. It is also revealed that TSS shows a positive correlation with the wind velocity(r=0.59), and a negative with the precipitation in the Keum River basin(r=-0.64). TSS concentration is primarily subjected to the tidal range and the freshwater discharge and also related to the resuspension of bottom sediments by the action of wind force or wind waves. The dilution rate is strongly subjected to the seasonal variation of the freshwater discharge, therefore, TSS concentration shows low in summer and high in winter. Under low discharge condition in spring, autumn and winter, TSS, VSS are high level in spring tide compared with those in neap tide : under high discharge condition in summer, these values are reversed that is, TSS is higher in neap tide than in spring tide.

        광양만의 수온과 염분의 관측을 1974년 5월부터 격월로 1975년 5월까지 7회 걸쳐서 실시한 자료와 그밖에 여수 측후소의 기상관측 자료를 분석한 결과, 그것을 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1) 수온은 9월이 최고로 23.8~24.2˚ C였고, 1월이 최저로 2.5~5.2˚ C여서 연변화량이 19~21˚ C이다. 2)표면에서의 열수지가 (+)일 때는 수심이 얕은 묘도 서쪽해역이 비교적 높은 수온을 나타내며(-)인때는 수심이 깊은 여수해만쪽의 수온이 높게 나타난다. 3)수면의 열수지는 1974년 5월이 93cal/cm2로 가장 크게 나타났고 1975년 1월이 -340cal/cm2로 최저로 나타났다. 4)수심이 얕은 St.E에서의 표층염분의 년변화는 7월이 20.8‰,최고는 3월이 32.5%로 연변화량은 7.3%밖에 되지 않는다. 5)St.A에서 10m층의 염분의 연변화량은 7월이 30.8 로 최저,최고는 3월이 33.0‰로 연변화량 2.2%밖에 되지 않아 섬진강의 하천수영 항이 10m이상 깊이에는 크게 영향을 미치지 못하는 것으로 해석된다. 6)St.A의 10m층과 St.E의 표층수의 염분의 차는 P-E값이 큰 7월이 10 로 최고이고 P-E값이 최저인 11월은 1.0‰로 역시 최저이다. 이것으로 보아 만내의 수심이 얕은 해역에서의 염분은 강수량이나 증발량과 밀접한 관계가 있다. 7)표층수를 분류하면 섬진강의 하천수와 대기의 영향을 가장많이 받는곳이 묘도 서쪽의 C해역이고 그 다음이 묘도 주위의 B해역이며,여수해만과 노량수도를 잇는 A해역은 가장 적게 영향을 받는다. 8) 강수량이 많고 수면에서 열수지도(+)인 5월과 7월은 표층과 10m층의 안정도가 커서 251×10-6~297×10-6이며 수면에서 열손실이 크고 강수량이 적었던 11월,1월 그리고 3월은 수직 안정도가 /-1×10-6~14×10-6으로 수직혼합이 쉽게 일어날수 있어 오염물질의 확산이 훨씬 잘도리 것으로 사료된다. 9)수직안정도는 조류의 영향을 별로 받지 않는다.

        기후 변화에 민감하게 반응하는 북극해는 지구 기후 변화의 흔적을 고스란히 간직하고 있으므로, 북 극해 퇴적물 연구는 지구 기후 변화를 연구하는 데 매우 중요하다. 2016년에 수행된 아라온호의 ARA07C 북 극해 탐사를 통하여 동시베리아해 연변부에서 획득한 ARA07C-St02B 중력 코어를 이용하여 퇴적학적, 광물 학적, 지화학적 특성을 연구하고 이를 이용하여 기원지를 추정하였다. 코어 퇴적물은 색, 입도와 빙운쇄설물 의 함량에 의하여 4개의 유닛으로 구분하였는데, 갈색층을 포함하는 유닛 1과 3은 회색층으로 구성된 유닛 2 와 4보다 모래와 빙운쇄설물의 함량이 다소 높다. ARA07C-St02B 코어 주변에서 연구된 ARA03B-27 코어 와 비교를 통하여 이들은 MIS (Marine Isotope Stage) 1부터 4시기에 퇴적된 것으로 여겨진다. 갈색층을 포 함하는 유닛들과 회색층으로 이루어진 유닛 사이에는 벌크 광물 조성, 점토광물 조성, 지화학 조성에서 차이 가 난다. 벌크 광물과 점토광물 특성은 조립질 퇴적물과 세립질 퇴적물 사이에 기원지가 다를 수 있음을 시 사한다. 조립질 퇴적물은 대부분 랍테프해와 동시베리아해로부터 동시베리아 연안류나 추크치해로부터 보퍼트 환류를 따라 운반된 것으로 여겨지지만, 세립질 퇴적물은 대부분 동시베리아해, 추크치해, 보퍼트해로부터 해 류에 의하여 운반된 것으로 추정된다. 유닛 1의 일부 조립질 퇴적물과 유닛 3의 세립질 퇴적물은 보퍼트해와 캐나다 북극 군도로부터 해류, 빙산 또는 해빙에 의하여 연구 지역에 퇴적된 것으로 판단된다. 잠재적인 근 원지의 지화학 조성에 관한 자료를 획득하게 되면, 연구 지역의 코어 퇴적물의 기원지와 공급 방법에 대하여 좀 더 자세하게 규명될 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.
