        This study was carried out to evaluate the characteristics of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and aldehydes emission as a function of airtight time in new apartment. Sampling was undertaken at 34 new apartments located in 4 different cities of Korea from February to November 2005. The measurement data were collected every one hour from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. toward increasing airtight time in a day. The concentrations of VOCs and aldehydes were analysed by GC/MS and HPLC method, respectively. These methods showed good sensitivity, linearity, and repeatability. In this study, the most abundant compounds at new apartments appeared to be toluene, m,p-xylene, formaldehyde and acetone. Moreover, the concentration variations at a closed rooms progressively increased by airtight time of 5 hours. Airtight time of new apartment was a most important and affective factor which influenced concentration change.

        This study was performed to estimate the emission rate of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and to evaluate the risk level affected by indoor air pollutants (IAPs) in 27 new apartments (prior to residence) in Seoul City from December 2004 to March 2005. The indoor air pollutants investigated in this study include formaldehyde, several aromatic VOCs (benzene, toluene, styrene, xylene, and ethylbenzene). All measurements were made based on the standard method of Ministry of Environment in Korea. The indoor concentration levels for benzene, xylene, toluene, ethylbenzene, styrene, and formaldehyde have significant increase trend 5 hours after closing windows and doors. Levels of air pollutants did not exhibit significant difference between living rooms and bedrooms. The air exchange rates by the concentration decay method using SF6 were 0.37 for low floor, 0.32 for middle floor, and 0.75 for high floor. The emission rate showed the highest level in the middle floor and second one in the low floor, when estimated by the IAQ model for benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, xylene, styrene, and formaldehyde. Considering the above result, it is suggested that the estimation of emission rate be considered when the new apartment is designed and constructed with respect to construction materials to emit low VOCs. Moreover, the related regulation should be established for IAQ management.

        For indoor air quality at a newly built apartment before move-in, we monitored formaldehyde and VOCs and assessed human exposure and probabilistic health risk. We selected 801 newly built apartments all over the country. The results of the research on the condition show the mean concentrations of formaldehyde 294 ㎍/㎥, 210(median) 1497㎍/㎥(maximum), benzene 6㎍/㎥, (4 and 92㎍/㎥), toluene 1003㎍/㎥(773 and 5013 ㎍/㎥), ethylbenzene 120㎍/㎥, (62 and 1192㎍/㎥), xylene 287㎍/㎥(138 and 2723㎍/㎥) and styrene 64㎍/㎥, (42 and 531㎍/㎥). Formaldehyde from carcinogen and toluene and xylene from non-carcinogen were assessed the risk for human health. The excess cancer risk of formaldehyde for human beings between carcinogens is per 1.36 of average 1000 persons. This implies that it is over a level per 1.00 of 1000 persons demanding active risk reduction. Hence, we strongly need the active reduction plan and accurate source assumption. Among a variety of factors affecting indoor air quality for householders, closing construction or density of indoor air processing additional interior construction and indoor area, indoor air quality with a variety of districts show significant. The excess cancer risk for human beings of formaldehyde between carcinogens is per 1.36 of average 1000 persons. Non-carcinogen toxicity rate for human-beings with toluene and xylene among non-carcinogens is over HQ 1 from Seoul to local area.

        This paper is concerned with the natural periods of ambient vibration and eigenvalue analysis. Ambient vibration tests were conducted to four bearing-wall reinforced concrete buildings ranging from twelve to nineteen stories. The performance of modeling in eigenvalue analysis was investigated using consideration of rigidity out of the plane in the slab and the non-structural bearing wall. Measured natural period was also compared with the value by the KBC2005. Natural period of the short direction in eigenvalue analysis is well fitted with the measured one. In the other hand, Natural period of the long direction in eigenvalue analysis is slightly more overestimated than the measured one. Natural period of the long direction in eigenvalue analysis was found to be enhanced by considering the effect of the stiffness out of the plane of the slab and non-structural wall in the structural modeling.

        공동주택의 바닥 슬래브의 합리적인 진동평가를 위하여 보다 정확한 진동해석이 수행되어야 하므로 바닥 슬래브의 시공방법 및 재료에 따라서 상세하게 모델화하여야 한다. 실제 바닥 슬래브의 수치해석에 있어서 매우 상세하게 모델화하여 진동해석을 수행하는 것은 현실적으로 어려우므로 이에 대한 대안으로 본 논문에서 공동주택의 표준바닥 슬래브에 대한 보다 합리적인 수치해석 방법을 제안하였다.

        The seismically design of building has objects to minimize in judge of people by preventing brittle fracture and to guarantee serviceability of building. But I come to the conclusion that the seismically design is not easy to use, even though we recently use it applyed with shear wall-type evaluation method, because we don't know how to estimate seismic performance of existing reinforced concrete wall-type apartment and evaluation method of wall-type apartment. so in this study, we conduct analysis program by using MIDAS-Gen & MIDAS-SDS, structure analysis program, after conducting a preliminary evaluation about research apartment by seismic performance evaluation method of existing safety & Technology corporation. In addition we show the problem when research apartment is applied with shear wall-type evaluation method that is estimate and grade of seismic performance level by capacity spectrum method.

        Earthquake resistance design has been developed many countries like Japan, USA, Mexico, New Zealand etc., which countries have experienced many earthquakes. Nowadays, earthquake resistance design has come into worldwide use. In Korea, the seismic design regulations have been established since 1988 in order to minimize the economic losses. Recently performance based design method has been adopted as a new Earthquake resistance design method. These regulations, however, are targeted for newly constructed buildings, In Korea, there are no regulations for existing buildings that built before 1988. So, we need to prepare the regulations that evaluate the seismic performance, furthermore proper retrofitting design guideline needs to be proposed when remodeling old buildings. This study was performed that many existing apartments is being a Remodeling object when considering the present condition of existing apartment and the problerns of cost and environment in the future plan. When Remodeling construction is reviewed by former the Seismic Performance Evaluation Method, generating problems is evaluation by using Push-over. According to this, it provides the appropriate method of calculating the Seismic Performance Index.

For these reasons, the retrofitting research demands for existing buildings arise recently and many retrofitting methods are proposed. These tasks are irnportant to reduce the enormous economic loss and environmental issues. The objective of this study is to predict the perforrnance increase due to various strengthen schemes and suggest adequate strengthen methods for wall type apartment buildings not designed to resist earthquake.

In this study, Scaled residential buildings with/without lateral resistance were tested and monitored with external lateral load especially toward the longer side of the building. From these experiments, enhanced retrofitting methods of old shear wall system are proposed and also compared with structural analysis.

        Recently, concern about Sick House Syndrome (SHS) has been increased in Korea. And it is suspected that formaldehyde (HCHO) and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are major factors for SHS. This study was surveyed the indoor air quality in new apartments in Korea. The HCHO and VOCs were measured at 90 sites and analysed by HPLC-UV and GC/MS, respectively. The range of HCHO concentrations at 90 sites were 9.39∼248.78㎍/㎥ and the mean value 105.41㎍/㎥ and the concentrations of HCHO at 42 sites (46.7%) exceeded the indoor air quality guideline (100㎍/㎥) in Japan. Among the 4 VOCs, toluene concentrations were the highest and the mean value 127.33㎍/㎥ and that concentrations at 12 sites (13.8%) were exceeded the indoor air quality guideline (260㎍/㎥) in Japan. There was a tendency which the longer the movement and measurement period is, the more the pollutants concentration is decreased. HCHO and VOCs concentrations of domestic results was similar to Japan's survey results in 2000.

        본 연구는 공동주택단지 용적률변화에 따른 녹지면적 및 녹지구조의 변화파악을 목적으로 수행하였다. 대상지는 용적률 100%이하, 용적률 250%이하, 용적률 250%이상의 세 유형으로 구분하여 각 유형별로 2개소씩 선정하였다. 1970~1980년에 조성한 용적률 99%인 화곡제2주공아파트와 용적률 73%인 개포주공아파트는 녹지면적 비율 40.23~44.23%, 녹지 폭 3~ 15m 녹지 량 1.06~1.71㎥/m2, 교목층 식재밀도 0.04~0.06주/m2 관목층 식재밀도 0.06 ~0.20주/m2이었다. 1990년대에 조성한 용적률 226%인 등촌주공아파트와 용적률 240%인 개화 아파트는 녹지면적비율 24 16~26.16%, 녹지폭3~7m, 녹지량 0.84~l.54㎥/m2, 교목층 식재밀도 0.18~0.31주/m2, 관목층 식재밀도0.15~0.35주/m2이었다. 1990년대말에 조성한 용적률 269%인 한보구암아파트와 용적률 376%인 동아3차아파트는 녹지면적비율 23.47~25.53%, 녹지폭 2~6m, 녹지량1.06~2.12㎥/m2, 교목층 식재밀도 0.25주/m2, 관목층 식재밀도 0.22~0.37주/m2이었다. 용적률변화에 따른 녹지구조 분석결과 녹지면적은 용적률이 높을수록 넓었으나, 녹지량과 식재밀도는 용적률의 변화와 상관없이 전체적으로 낮은 상태이었고 식재구조는 외래종위주의 단층구조이었다.

        본 연구는 1980년대 후반부터 조성된 5개 신도시 공동주택단지의 완충녹지를 대상으로 녹지의 형태와 식재기법, 효과 등을 분석하여 완충녹지 조성시 배식에 이용할 수 있는 자료 구축을 목적으로 하였다. 연구대상지 완충녹지의 형태는 마운딩형, 사면형, 펴연형이었으며 식재된 수종으로는 교목은 상록수 10종, 낙엽수 20종의 총 30종이었고 관목은 총 13종 이었으며 도시공원 등의 관상용수종과 차이가 없었고 식재는 단층적으로 한 상태였다. 완충녹지에 의해 소음완화 효과는 인정되었으나 7개 조사유형중 4유형에서는 공동주택단지의 소음 기준치(65dB) 이하의 완충효과를 보이지 못했다. 소음완화효과는 마운드형이 효과적이었다. 본 연구대상지는 식재밀도, 녹지용적계수는 완충녹지의 기능을 충족시키지 못하고 있으며 자연림과 비교했을 때 식재밀도가 매우 적었고 녹지용적계수도 기준 녹지에 비해 션격히 낮은 값을 나타내어 개선이 요구되었다. 완충녹지는 높이를 2m 이상으로 한 마운딩형으로 조성지역 인근 자연림의 식생구조를 모델로 하는 복층적 식재기법을 이요하여 조성하는 것이 바람직한 것으로 판단되었다.

        공동주택단지내 조경수목의 생장과 피음시간과의 관계를 파악하기 위하여 과천주공아파트 2단지 내의 조경수목 4종을 대상으로 현재의 규격과 식재위치를 조사하여 개체별 그림자시간을 분석하고 피음시간과 수목규격을 단순회귀분석하였다. 전체적으로 R2값이 낮아 두 변수간의 상관성은 설명력이 약하다 하겠으며, 도출된 회귀방정식도 일반화 할 수는 없는 것으로 판단되었다. 즉, 본 연구대상지내에서 조경수목의 생장과 피음시간과의 상관관계가 낮아 대상지내 조겨수목의 생장에 있어서 피음시간은 타 환경여인보다 상대적 중요도가 낮은 것으로 추정되었다. 다만, 전반적으로 스츠로브잣나무는 부(-)의 상관관계를, 단풍나무와 백목련은 정(+)의 상관관계를 보여 음양수의 특성이 나타난 것으로 추정되었다. 또한, 수종별로 통계적으로 유의성이 있는 경우는, 단풍나무의 경우 근원직경 및 수관폭, 백목련의 경우 수관폭과 피음시간과의 관계로서 상관계수 0.4 미만의 낮은 상관성을 보였다.

        New towns and large multi-family housing complexes are being built in the capital region of Korea, with the goal of creating safe and pedestrian-friendly cities. Traffic accidents in such residential complexes, however, is on the rise, creating social problems. While there have been many previous studies on problems with pedestrian environment; there is a dearth of studies that take design-based approach to ensure safety in pedestrian environment within residential complexes. Therefore, this study aims to prevent traffic accidents by properly planning pedestrian environment within multi-family housing complexes, in addition to emphasizing theories related to planning safer pedestrian environment in general. This study found the following design directions required to improve the design theory of pedestrian safety in multi-family housing complexes: (1) Linking traffic facilities and residential complex spaces in Korea; (2) Considering implementation of United Kingdom road systems; (3) Establishing appropriate objectives for each residential complex based on case study. In response to these findings, the study selected the A84BL complex in Hwaseong Dongtan 2 Complex located in Dongtan-myeon, Hwaseong-si in Gyeonggi Province, Korea. Items that can be implemented, as well as spatial design directions, were discussed with a focus on private vehicles, pedestrians, and service vehicles.

        공동주택 리모델링 공사에서 필연적으로 발생하는 신/구 구조체의 접합에 사용되는 부착식 후시공 앵커에 대한 시공성 및 인장성능을 확인하기 위하여 30년 이상 경과된 노후 공동주택의 기초판에서 부착식 후시공 앵커에 대한 인발실험을 수행하였다. 후시공 앵커는 리모델링 설계에 주로 사용되는 SD500 이형철근으로 3종류의 직경과 매입깊이를 변수로 직접 인발성능을 검증하였다. 부착식 후시공 앵커의 현장 인발실험결과, 모든 철근직경에서 현행 기준에서 제시하는 부착식 앵커의 설계 묻힘깊이 이하에서 철근 인장파괴가 발생하였다.

        There have been arguments in terms of defects liability for apartment building, and one of the arguments is that crack width less than 0.3mm which is appeared in the concrete structures should be defined as defects without application of allowable crack width under Construction Specification. Another argument states that the crack width less than 0.3mm appeared in concrete structures is not defect according to the Construction Specification. This study analyzes the engineering characteristics of concrete crack appeared in apartment building with the comparison of allowable crack width in terms of design, construction, and maintenance.Moreover, regarding defects in apartment building, this study analyzes legal problems which are found in the comparison of defects liability clause stipulated in the related regulations, and also analyzes all together the foreign regulations on defect liability and defect repair costs in the previous appraisal reports.

        국내의 경우 아파트 등 공동주택의 안전점검과 진단은 2-6년 주기로 수행되고 있다. 하지만 최근 2016년 이후의 안전점검 및 진단 용역의 적법 수행여부에 대한 정부합동점검결과, 공동주택의 부실수행 비율이 매우 높다. 이는 공동주택의 경우 법정 대가기준 대비 평균 1-10% 수준에서 용역이 낙찰되기 때문인 것으로 분석된다. 본 연구에서는 공동주택의 안전전검 및 진단에 대한 결과조사를 바탕으로 업체형태, 협약방식 별로 협약대가, 조사 및 시험의 충실성 등 현황을 분석하였다. 조사대상은 년도, 규모, 지역 등 다양한 변수 분포를 가지며, 이를 바탕으로 공동주택의 안전점검 및 진단의 부실 현황을 분석하였다.

        국내의 경우 아파트 등 공동주택의 안전점검과 진단은 주기적으로 수행되고 있지만 부실수행의 비율이 매우 높다. 현재 국내 공동주택 안전점검-진단 세부지침 및 해설서는 시설물 일반 그리고 건축물 일반과 표본층수 산정 방법과 재료시험 수행개수 등이 동일하다. 그러나 공동주택은 일반 건축물과 달리 생애주기 동안에 용도변경이 거의 없으며 하중의 편차가 크지 않는 특성이 있다. 특히 지상 또는 지하주차장의 면적이 넓고 형태가 다양하며, 건설년도에 따라서 지하주차장 시스템이 달라지고 있다. 한편 공동주택은 벽식구조와 골조식 구조로의 전이부가 있거나, 콘크리트의 강도가 건축물 상하부에서 달라 지는 등 여러 가지 고유의 특징을 가지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 공동주택의 주요 특징을 고려하여 공동주택 안전점검 및 진단의 수행방법 개선을 위한 방안을 제안하였다.
