        PURPOSES: This study investigates the effect on concrete pavement accordance with the curing methods in cool weather and supports the best method in the field. METHODS: Two field tests evaluated the curing methods of concrete pavement in cool weather. Firstly, five curing methods were tested, including normal curing compound, black curing compound, bubble sheet, curing mat, and curing mat covered with vinyl. Concrete maturity was compared from temperature data. Secondly, normal curing compound and curing mat with vinyl, which showed the best performance, were compared in terms of maturity and join condition index. RESULTS: From the field tests, it is an evident that curing mat with vinyl accelerated the concrete strength. Therefore, it is possible to conduct saw-cut works in cool weather, which minimizes damage on concrete at joint. CONCLUSIONS: For concrete pavement in cool weather, using curing mat with vinyl as the curing method could overcome the strength delay. Therefore, strength and durability problems on concrete at joint due to cool weather would be fewer in the future.

        PURPOSES:The objective of this study is to ascertain the curing period of cementless cold central plant recycled asphalt base-layer, using mechanical analyses and specimen quality tests on the field.METHODS :Cold central plant recycled asphalt base-layer mixture was produced in the plant from reclaimed asphalt, natural aggregate, filler for the cold mix, and the modified emulsion AP using asphalt mix design and plant mix design. In order to examine the applicability of the curing period during the field test, the international standards for the possibility of core extraction and the degree of compaction and LFWD deflection were analyzed. Moreover, Marshall stability test, porosity test, and indirect tensile strength test were performed on the specimens of asphalt mix and plant mix design.RESULTS :The plant production process and compaction method of cementless cold central plant recycled asphalt base-layer were established, and the applicability of the optical moisture content for producing the mixture was verified through the field test. In addition, it was determined that the core extraction method of the conventional international curing standard was insufficient to ensure performance, and the LFWD test demonstrated that the deflection converges after a two-day curing. However, the back-calculation analysis reveals that a three-day curing is satisfactory, resulting in a general level of performance of dense asphalt base-layer. Moreover, from the result of the specimen quality test of the asphalt mix design and plant mix design according to the curing period, it was determined that the qualities satisfied both domestic and international standards, after a two-day curing. However, it was determined that the strength and stiffness after three-day curing are higher than those after a two-day curing by approximately 3.5 % and 20 %, respectively.CONCLUSIONS:A three-day curing period is proposed for the cementless cold central plant recycled asphalt base-layer; this curing period can be demonstrated to retain the modulus of asphalt-base layer in the field and ensure stable quality characteristics.

        본 연구는 양생(養生)에서 주요한 방법인 호흡법의 고찰을 통해 과거 선인들의 건강 인식과 실천을 살펴보고 현대적 의의 를 점검하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 양생에 대한 개념과 선인들의 양생 인식을 시대 상황 속에서 살펴보았다. 양생 중 에서 호흡은 단순히 생명 유지만을 위한 수단이 아닌 건강관리 의 주요한 개념으로 받아들여졌음을 알 수 있다. 이를 위해 호 흡의 정의와 작용부터 시작하여 역사적으로 호흡법을 실천한 인사들을 다루었다. 조선시대는 성리학이 지배하여 정신적 가 치를 우위에 두었기에 호흡법을 통해 맑은 정신을 유지하는 방 편으로 애용되었다. 특히 주자(朱子)를 신봉하였기에 그가 주장 한 ‘조식잠(調息箴)’은 사대부들 사이에 적극적으로 수용되었다. 호흡법은 도가적 색채가 강한 양생인데, 이를 유가들이 적극 수용했다는 사실은 실용적인 이중성을 보여주는 사례로 그들의 탄력적 사고를 보여준다. 호흡법 중 ‘태식(胎息)’은 이들이 가장 중시한 것으로, 일찍이 복식호흡이 지닌 가치를 인식한 증거라 하겠다. 한편으로 ‘태식’은 인간이 자기 존재의 출발점으로 회 귀하려는 본성에 대한 갈망으로 성리학이 추구한 근본사상과 상통되었다. ‘태식’이 지닌 건강학적 가치는 오늘 날에도 여전 히 유효하며, 바쁜 현대인들에게 명상으로 숨 쉬고 있다. 문헌 에 나타난 선인들의 호흡은 그것이 일상이었음을 보여주며, 성 리학의 수양과 맞물려 장려되었음을 알 수 있다. 특히 중국이 호흡방법에 치중하였던 반면에 우리나라에서는 호흡의 자세에 중점을 두고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 그러나 호흡 양생법은 모두가 공통적으로 사상과 종교를 초월한 유⦁불⦁선 이 융합된 동양학의 총체라 하겠다.

        PURPOSES : The objective of this study is to evaluate the curing and adhesive behavior of asphalt emulsions including polymer-modified emulsions for chip seals and fog seals. METHODS : For the laboratory testing, the evaporation test, the bitumen bond strength (BBS) test, and the Vialit test are used. Also, the rolling ball test and the damping test are employed to evaluate the curing properties of the fog seal emulsions. In order to conduct all the tests in controled condition, all test procedures are performed in the environmental chamber. The CRS-2L and the SBS CRS-2P emulsions are used as a polymer-modified emulsion, and then unmodified emulsion, the CRS-2, is compared for the evaluation of chip seal performance. For the fog seal performance evaluation, two types of polymer-modified emulsions (FPME-1 and FPME-2) and one of unmodified emulsion, the CSS-1H, are employed. All the tests are performed at different curing times and temperatures. RESULTS AND CONCLUSIONS : Overall, PMEs show better curing and adhesive behavior than non-PMEs regardless of treatments types. Especially, the curing and adhesive behavior of PMEs is much better than non-PMEs before 120 minutes of curing time. Since all the test results indicate that after 120 minutes of curing time the curing adhesive behavior of emulsions, the early curing time, i.e., 120 minutes, plays an important role in the performance of chip seals and fog seals.

        PURPOSES: This study is to suggest tunnel length to spray curing compound, based on the field tests. METHODS : At first field test, length from the entrance of tunnel to wet wall was checked by visual survey. The second and third test, various sensors were installed in concrete or in tunnel, such as RH sensor, temperature sensor, portable weather station and etc.. And also, test for bleeding and retaining water of concrete were conducted to evaluate environmental effect on concrete pavement. RESULTS: The result of the field experiment for tunnel length to spray curing compound indicates that length changes depending on tunnel length, season, and location. Environmental condition of a short tunnel was not much different between location near entrance and at center of tunnel. However, in case of a medium and long tunnel, effect of outside environmental condition decreased, when location moved into tunnel center of it. CONCLUSIONS: From the testing results, it can be proposed that optimum tunnel length to spray curing compound is 60m for a medium and long tunnel, and whole length for a short tunnel.

        PURPOSES : This study is to suggest time to spray curing compound, the amount of curing compound, and the number of times to spray curing compound based on indoor tests. METHODS : Based on the literature review, two methods are used in this study, One is test for water retention of concrete curing material and the other is test for abrasion resistance of concrete surfaces by the rotating-cutter method. Through those methods, curing compound was evaluated. RESULTS : The result of the laboratory experiment for time to spray curing compound indicates that 30 minutes after placing concrete is optimal. For the amount of curing compound, 0.5l/m2 is the minimum quantity for both concretes. Through test of the number of times to spray curing compound, method to spray the whole amount of curing compound in twice is more efficient than it to spray the whole amount at a time. Also, method of separately 30-50 minutes spray is better than method of separately 10-30 minutes spray. CONCLUSIONS : From the testing results, it can be proposed that optimum time to curing compound is 30±15 minutes, 0.5l/m2 is efficient for spraying the whole amount of curing compound at a time, and 0.4l/m2 is the best for spraying the whole amount of curing compound in twice, which sprays it in 20 minutes after 30 minutes from placing concrete.

        본 연구에서는 활성 산업부산물을 활용한 탄소흡수용 도로재료 개발 연구의 일환으로 산업부산물인 고로슬래그와 탄소포집 활성화제로 수산화칼슘과 규산나트륨을 사용한 콘크리트의 압축강도 실험을 수행하여 얻어진 결과에 대하여 고찰하였다. 본 실험에서는 탄소포집 활성 고로슬래그 콘크리트의 예비배합으로 다음 표 1과 같은 배합표에 따라 콘크리트 시험체 제작 후 압축강도를 측정하였다. 탄소포집 활성 고로슬래그 콘크리트의 양생온도에 따른 압축강도 실험결과, 양생온도 50℃에서의 28일 압축강도가 최대 약 30MPa 정도의 수준을 나타내었으며, 전반적으로 양생온도가 더 높은 50℃에서 양생 한 시험체의 압축강도가 다소 높은 것으로 나타났다. 또한 탄소포집 활성화제의 첨가량 증가에 따른 압축 강도의 변화폭이 미미한 수준으로 나타났으며, 따라서 추후 실험에서는 배합비, 양생방법 등을 고려한 추가적인 실험이 진행되어져야 할 것으로 판단된다.

        In this study, expedite curing period at curing temperature being 40, 60, 80℃ similar to strength of standard 28days curing temperature to confirm methods and applicability of early estimation of strength by warm water curing. Also, checked the effect related to different conditions such as using various kinds of material, differentiating quantity of material, with or without fiber mixing at same rate of water-bonding material. Existing method proposed by KS and JIS to estimate strength of 28 days standard curing temperature curing for 7days at 40℃ is not relevant because it takes so long to estimate strength. Already known method of estimating strength of 28days standard curing temperature curing for 3days in 60℃ warm water, too, is not relevant to apply 3day cycle of super high-rise. It also had the problem which didn’t consider fiber mixed concrete. According to the result of experiment, traits and rate of strength revelation were different relating to the kinds and quantity of bonding material. Strength value of mix without fiber was higher than that of mix with fiber, but without any relation to that, over 96% of similar confidence level with strength of 28 days standard curing temperature was shown in 7 days at 40℃, 3 days at 60℃, 2days at 80℃. Confidence level of estimation method of 2 days at 80℃ was similar to those of estimation methods of 4 days at 40℃, 3 days at 60℃, so it(2 days at 80℃) is regarded as the most relevant method because it’s possible to estimate strength fastly. As a result it can be said that early quality control of recently increasing super high-rise may be possible through estimation method of 2 days at 80℃.

        In this study, prediction of later-age compressive strength of ultra-high strength concrete, based on the accelerated strength of concrete cured in hot water was investigated. Comparing other acceleration method, hot water curing method is relatively easy and intuitive to use in the real construction site. The amount of time for evaluation of the concrete strength using the hot water curing method in KS and JIS is too long to predict the strength of the ultra-high strength concrete that are used in the tall building structure. For that reason, curing temperature of 40, 50, 60℃ 3 levels were examined to shorten the amount of time for the evaluation of the strength. When curing in warm water, different strength characteristics are verified from the experiment. In case of F3 substituting 30% fly ash in combination, because of the curing temperature sensitivity of fly ash, differences of strength expression velocity was verified according to the curing temperature at the same age. In case of B4 substituting 40% ground granulated blast furnace slag, there were no big strength expression velocity differences of the specimen cured in 3 different level of curing temperature(40, 50, 60℃). The results show reliable accuracy by regression relation between 28day strength cured by standard curing method and accelerated strength of concrete cured in warm water.(y=1x-0.0002 R2=0.9866) As a result, the feasibility of 3day-prediction was confirmed using warm water curing method with accelerated strength of concrete cured for three days in warm water.

        Recently, as architectural concrete structures become high-rise and megastructured, concrete become high-strengthened and, by ensuring products of more stability, and rationalization of construction are required.large cross-sectional precast concrete members such as columns show large temperature increase in manufacturing process not only by external heating but also by concrete itself's hydration heating. Therefore, it is expected that specimen for management to predict strength and compression strength of precast concrete member shows different strength characteristics. Conceming this, in order to suggest strength characteristics of high strength mass concrete suitable for precast concrete application, this study comprises the inclusive investigations on the relations between core strength and the strength characteristics per member cross-section dimensional value and per water-bonding material ratio value.

        콘크리트에서 강도는 콘크리트의 물리적 특성을 평가할 수 있는 중요한 인자중 하나이며 압축강도의 경우 실험의 편리함과 범용성으로 인해 널리 사용되고 있다. 콘크리트는 재료와 양생조건 등에 따라 압축강도가 달라지며, 특히 동일 재료라 하더라고 양생조건에 따라 강도는 변한다. 그러므로 현장에서 시공한 콘크리트의 강도를 알기위해서는 현장과 동일한 양생조건에 놓여야만 정확하게 강도를 측정할 수 있다. 그러나 현실적으로 밤낮으로 변화하는 현장의 양생조건을 실내에서 묘사하기란 쉽지가 않다. 또한 실제 콘크리트 포장의 강도를 측정하기 위해 포장체에 코어를 뚫기 때문에 손상이 가해지는 걸 피할수는 없다. 이러한 한계를 극복하기 위해 이미 비파괴 기법에 대한 다양한 연구가 진행되어 왔으며 그중 탄성파를 이용해 이미 콘크리트의 압축강도와 탄성파 속도와의 상관관계가 높음이 입증되었다. 본 연구에서는 양생조건에 따른 압축강도와 전단파 속도의 상관성을 분석하기 위해 동일 시멘트 페이스트를 3가지 서로 다른 양생온도에서 재령별 압축강도와 탄성파 속도의 변화를 측정했으며, 이 두 변수간의 상관관계를 파악하였다. 그 결과 양생온도는 재령별 압축강도증진과 탄성파 속도증가에 각각 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으나, 압축강도와 전단파 속도와의 상관관계에는 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다.

        Precast concrete produced in the industry is advantageous in a sense that it meets certain requiring standards and thus is easy to manage, and it saves construction period by shortening concrete curing time in the field. Nevertheless, studies on the strength evaluation of PC material by steam curing have rarely been done. In addition,as concrete becomes of high strength, it is speculated that relevant steam curing temperature history is also required. Therefore this study is on the steam curing method in manufacturing precast concrete products, and cement mortar has been used for experiments to exclude the possibility that concrete aggregate granularity and aggregate shape change may affect on strength development by cement hydration. In addition, this research is to provide the fundamental information of industrial manufacture of PC member by suggesting the optimal steam curing condition. The optimal steam curing condition has been investigated from the relations between temperature history condition and strength development, via modifying temperature patterns in various ways such as pre-tirne, curing maximaI temperature, maximaI temperature maintenance time which are factors that affect on high strength concrete product in steam curing.
