        본 연구에서는 반복적인 동작 행위에 따른 뇌파의 훈련효과를 규명하고자 한다. 훈련 효과를 검증하기 위해 반복적인 동작시의 뇌파 출현량 및 EMG와 EEG의 coherence의 변화를 분석하였다. 피실험자는 5명으로 실험 시간은 총 48분이며, 반복 일에 대한 훈련 효과를 살펴보기 위해 5일간 진행하였다. 반복적인 동작은 손을 오므렸다 폈다 하는 행위로, 5초간의 동작실행과 10초간의 휴식시간으로 나눠 실험하였다. 동작 유무와 반복 일에 따른 뮤파와 베타파량의 차이를 살펴 본 결과, 반복시간에 따라 뮤파 및 베타파량이 증가되는 경향이 있었다. 그러나 5일 동안의 반복 일에 따른 훈련효과는 보이지 않았다. 또한 EMG와 EEG의 coherence는 반복 시간과 반복 일에 대한 훈련 효과를 확인할 수 없었다.

        목적 : 본 연구에서는 암묵 및 외현적 속성을 가진 운동 과제를 통해 정신훈련과 실제훈련의 효과와 정신 훈련에 적합한 속성의 운동 과제를 알아보고자 하였다. 연구방법 : 정상 성인 36명을 세 집단(정신훈련군, 실제훈련군, 대조군)으로 무작위 할당하고, 표적조준과제와 시열반응과제를 이용하여 정신훈련 및 실제훈련 실시하였다. 표적조준과제는 모니터에서 제공하는 좌우의 두 개의 원안에 마우스를 위치함과 동시에 클릭을 하게 하였고, 시열반응과제는 모니터에서 제시되는 네 가지의 색깔에 대응하는 반응패드를 손가락을 이용하여 최대한 빨리 정확히 누르도록 하여, 반응시간을 측정하였다. 정신훈련과 실제훈련은 각각 하루 30분, 3일 동안 훈련하였고, 훈련 전과 후의 운동반응시간을 측정하여 비교하였다. 결과 : 표적조준과제에서는 정신훈련군과 실제훈련군에서 모두 대조군에 비해 통계학적으로 유의하게 반응시간의 변화를 보였고(p<.05), 시열반응과제에서도 정신훈련군과 실제훈련군에서 대조군에 비해 통계학적으로 유의하게 반응시간의 변화 차이를 보였다(p<.05). 또한 각각의 과제에서 집단간의 표준화된 점수의 비교에서 표준 조준과제의 경우, 실제훈련군에서 통계학적으로 유의하게 높은 증가를 보였고(p<.05), 시열반응과제의 경우에는 실제훈련군이 그 증감이 높았지만, 통계적으로 유의한 결과를 보이지 않았다(p>.05). 결론 : 정신훈련은 암묵 및 외현적 속성을 가진 모든 과제에서 운동학습이 이루어졌고, 암묵적 지식의 습득보다는 외현적 지식이 요구되는 과제에서 운동학습의 효과가 높았다.

        목적 : 뇌졸중 환자의 편측무시와 시각적 주의력에 대한 Dynavision의 훈련 효과를 알아보는 것이다. 연구방법 : 편측무시 증상을 나타내는 좌측 편마비 뇌졸중 환자를 대상으로 개별실험 연구 방법(single subject research design) 중 AB 설계를 사용하였다. 기초선 기간에서는 Dynavision을 이용한 치료를 하지 않고 시각적 주의력을 대변하는 Dynavision 불빛에 대한 반응 시간과 반응횟수를 4회기 동안 측정하였다. 치료 기간에는 Dynavision을 이용한 치료 후 반응시간과 반응횟수를 측정하였다. 치료 프로그램은 visual tracking, self-paced, digital flash 프로그램으로 구성하였고 3주 동안 12회기를 시행하였다. 치료 전 편측무시 증상의 변화를 알아보기 위해 선나누기 검사(line bisection test)를 실시하였다. 결과 : 대상자는 기초선 기간보다 치료 기간 동안에 시각 자극에 대한 반응횟수가 증가되었고 반응시간은 감소되었다. 또한 Dynavision 치료 후에 선나누기 검사의 오류 정도가 감소하였다. 결론 : Dynavision은 뇌졸중 환자의 편측무시 증상과 이와 관련된 시각적 주의력을 향상 시키는 치료에 유용하게 사용될 수 있는 도구이다.

        목적 : 운동학습은 신체적인 연습과 경험의 결과로 동작에 대한 기술 습득의 과정으로 표현된다. 최근 정신적 훈련을 통해 운동 기술의 습득이 이루어질 수 있다는 연구가 많이 보고되고 있다. 본 연구는 시열반응과제를 통하여 실제 훈련과 정신 훈련의 효과에 대해 연구하고자 하였다. 연구방법 : 50명의 정상 성인을 대상으로 정신 훈련군, 실제 훈련군, 대조군으로 무선적 배치하였다. 측정된 시열반응과제는 컴퓨터 화면에 제시되는 네 가지의 색깔에 대응하는 반응패드를 손가락을 이용하여 최대한 빨리 정확히 누르도록 하고, 반응 시간을 측정하였다. 정신 훈련군과 실제 훈련군은 정신 및 실제 훈련을 하루 30분, 2주 동안 훈련하였고, 훈련 시간은 동일하게 설계하였다. 결과 : 이요인 반복 측정 공분산 분석의 집단 간의 주 효과 검정에서 통계학적으로 유의한 차이가 관찰되었으며, 집단×훈련 전·후 간의 상호작용에서도 유의한 차이가 관찰되었다(p<.05). 또한 사후 검정에서 정신 훈련군과 대조군, 실제 훈련군과 대조군에서 유의한 차이를 보였다(p<.05). 이러한 결과는 훈련 후 대조군에서의 시간의 감소보다 정신 훈련군과 실제 훈련군에서의 과제 수행 시 시간의 감소가 더 크게 나타났다. 결론 : 본 연구에서는 정신 훈련군에서 실제 훈련군과 같이 운동 학습의 효과가 나타났으며, 정신 훈련은 효과적인 운동학습을 위한 방법임이 입증되었다. 그러므로 운동제어와 인지학습을 시켜야 하는 재활 영역에서 뇌손상 환자에게 학습을 시키기 위한 방법으로 정신 훈련을 채택할 수 있으며, 마비측의 실제 훈련을 수행하기에 어려운 상황에서는 정신 훈련이 더 효과적일 수 있고, 실제 훈련과 비슷한 효과를 기대할 수 있을 것으로 생각된다.

        The limited walking ability after a stroke restricts a patient's independent mobility at home and in the community. It also brings about significant social handicaps. Therefore, it is necessary to improve walking ability in community-dwelling persons with stroke. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of gait training and muscle strengthening exercise of lower extremities in persons with chronic stroke. Nineteen community-dwelling individuals with stroke participated in this program. The exercise program lasted for seven weeks, with a 1-hour program twice per week, and it consisted of balance training, gait training, and strengthening of lower extremities. The outcome of the program was assessed by the gait speed, Wisconsin Gait Scale (WGS), Berg Balance Scale (BBS), and Stroke Impact Scale (SIS). Significant effects were found for the WGS, BBS, and mobility and hand function domain of the SIS (p<.05). It was found that short-term gait training exercise could improve quality of gait, balance, and mobility. Therefore, a more effective exercise program is required for community-based persons with stroke.

        본 연구는 협동학습에서 소집단 경쟁을 유도하는 집단보상과 소집단 구성원의 결속을 강조하는 협동기술 훈련의 효과를 비교하기 위하여 시도되었다. 이를 위하여 초등학교 6학년 3개 학급을 대상으로 문제중심 협동학습을 실시하였고 2개 학급에서는 각각 집단보상과 협동기술 훈련을 실시하였다. 학업성취도 면에서 이질적으로 구성된 소집단별로 진행된 협동학습 후에 세 집단의 과학성취도와 학습동기 점수를 성취도 수준별로 비교 분석하였다. 본 연구의 결과, 첫째, 집단보상과 협동기술 훈련이 과학성취도에 영향을 미쳤으며 학습자의 학업성취 수준에 따른 차이가 나타났다. 즉 성취 수준 상위인 학습자에게는 집단보상이 협동기술 훈련보다 효과적인 반면 하위인 학습자에게는 협동기술 훈련이 집단보상보다 효과적이었으며 중위인 학습자는 집단보상과 협동기술 훈련이 모두 효과적인 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 집단보상과 협동기술 훈련이 학습동기에 영향을 미쳤으나 학습자의 학업성취 수준과는 관련이 없었다. 학습동기의 하위요소별로는 주의력 요소에는 효과가 없었으나 자신감과 만족감 요소에는 효과가 나타났다.

        The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of English oral presentation strategy training (OPST) in EFL contexts. For this study, eight university students of 4 high and 4 low proficiency level are selected. The participants were provided with an OPST over 5 weeks including 8 times of training. During the OPST, the participants learned 25 strategy, 17 verbal and 8 non-verbal strategies. The verbal strategies were again divided into two parts: general verbal strategies and genre specific strategies. For the validity of the present study a “triangulation” was achieved through the use of video recording, classroom observation, questionnaire, in-depth interview, and the native English speaker’s evaluation. The results of the study demonstrated that the participants showed some improvement in the use of presentation strategies, especially organizational and verbal components of the strategies rather than nonlinguistic components. The proficiency level of the participants had an effect on the frequency of use of strategies after the OPST. Overall, the OPST was found to have positive effects on the participants’ attitude toward English oral presentations. On the basis of the results of the study, some teaching implications for improving presentation skills in university EAP contexts are provided.

        The purpose of this study was to explore the effectiveness of strategy training in teaching English for Korean elementary school students. It also attempted to provide some empirical data for more successful strategy training in elementary English education. Sixty six fifth grade elementary school students from two intact classes (33 each) participated in the study as the experimental group and the control group. For 17 weeks, the experimental group was given strategy training in addition to traditional instruction, while the control group was taught in the traditional way only. Some of the major findings are as follows: 1) Strategy-trained group did not show significantly better improvement over the traditionally-taught group in their English proficiency; 2) Strategy-trained group used all categories of learning strategy significantly more frequently at the end of the experimental period than traditionally-taught group; 3) Both the quantity and quality of strategy use was affected by the learner's English proficiency. From these results it was concluded that a strategy training program for elementary school English learners could be fruitful and viable. Suggestions for further studies are presented along with limitations inherent in the present study.

        본 연구는 초등학교 과학과 문제중심학습에서 협동기술 훈련의 효과를 밝히기 위하여 통제집단, 문제중심학습 집단, 협동기술 훈련을 한 문제중심학습 집단의 학습능력 수준에 따라 과학 성취도와 자아존중감을 조사하였다. 본 연구의 결과, 학습능력이 높은 학습자는 협동기술 훈련에 무관하게 문제중심학습이 전통적 수업보다 효과적인 것으로 나타났다. 학습능력이 중간인 학습자와 낮은 학습자는 협동기술 훈련을 한 경우, 전통적 수업 집단보다 과학 성취도가 높게 나타났다. 이로써 협동기술 훈련이 학습능력이 중간 이하인 학습자에게서 발생하는 무임승객효과를 줄이고 소집단활동의 협력적인 상호작용에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 자아존중감은 문제중심학습 집단이 통제 집단에 비해 유의미하게 높게 나타났고 학습능력에 따른 상호작용 효과는 없었다.

        We report the reorganization of motor network resulted from intensive unilateral coordination training and the effect of cross education on the untrained side in patient with traumatic brain injury using functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI). A 22 year-old male patient who had suffered from diffuse axonal injury for 58 months showed coordination deficit in the left hand at initial examination. Intensive motor training including complex finger movements and coordination activities using a metronome was introduced to the patient 4 hours per day for a week. FMRI was performed on a 3T ISOL Forte scanner. All functional images were analyzed using SPM-99 software. Hand function was improved after training not only in the trained left hand, but also in the untrained right hand. There was no activation in the right primary motor area (M1) during left hand movement before training whereas robust activation of left M1 was demonstrated by the right hand movement. Profuse activation of bilateral prefrontal lobes was seen during both hand movements before training. After training of left hand, right M1 became prominently activated during the left hand motion. The activation of bilateral prefrontal lobes disappeared after training not only for the left hand movement but also for the right, which clearly demonstrated the effect of cross education. This case report demonstrated the learning-dependent reorganization of the M1 and the effect of cross education.

        The purpose of this study was to investigate the treatment effect of three interventions on the disuse atrophy of rat hindlimb after two weeks suspension. Forty-eight 11~12 weeks old female Sprague-Dawley white rats were divided into four intervention groups: 1) suspension only (S; n=10), 2) intensive weight bearing treadmill (IWBT; n=10), 3) electrical stimulation (ES; n=9), 4) 2)+3) (ES/IWBT; n=9). Another 10 rats received no intervention or hindlimb suspension and served as controls (C). After the interventions, 1) the cross-sectional area (CSA), 2) the ratio of white muscle fiber composition (WMFC), 3) isometric tetanic tension (ITT), and 4) muscle weights (MWs) were measured from the four calf muscle specimens. The results were as follows: 1. In all intervention groups, the CSAs of medial and lateral gastrocnemius (MG LG), soleus (SOL), and flexor digitorum superficialis (FDS) decreased when compared to the control (C) group (p<.05). The CSA increased in FDS and LG for the IWBT group, in SOL for the ES/IWBT group compared to the S only group (p<.05). 2. The ratios of WMFC in MG, LG, SOL, and FDS increased compared to the C group for all interventions (p<.05). The ratios of WMFC decreased in SOL and LG for the IWBT group, in SOL for the ES/IWBT group compared to the S only group, and decreased in SOL for the ES/IWBT group compared to the IWBT group (p<.05). 3. The ITT in the MG, LG, SOL, and FDS decreased compared to the C group for all interventions (p<.05). The ITT increased in MG LG/FDS, SOL, and the whole calf muscles (WCMs) in the IWBT, ES and ES/IWBT groups compared to the S only group (p<.05). 4. The MWs in MG LG/FDS, SOL, WCMs decreased compared to the C group for all interventions (p<.05). The MWs increased in MG LG/FDS and WCMs for the IWBT group, in SOL for the ES group, and in SOL for the ES/IWBT group compared to the S only group (p<.05). 5. In atrophied muscles, the IWBT group showed the best recovery and the ES/IWBT and ES groups followed in decreasing order. The most susceptible muscle to disuse atrophy was the SOL. But conversely, it showed the best recovery in the ES/IWBT group. After two weeks of hindlimb suspension, the calf muscles of rats atrophied and their isometric tension decreased. These changes were best reversed by hindlimb-focused treadmill activity. The next best results were achieved by electrical stimulation combined with the treadmill followed by only electrical stimulation. These findings indicate that full weight bearing treadmill activity alone or in combination with electrical stimulation are effective treatments for non-weight bearing induced muscle atrophy. Further study of the effect of different intensities of electrical stimulation and variations in the duration period of full weight bearing treadmill activity on disuse atrophy is recommended.

        The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of transfer of training approach on cognitive function and functional recovery and the difference in the stroke patterns of adult stroke patients with affected cognitive function. Twenty stroke patients were participated ; 8 males and 12 females, the age ranged from 34 to 73. By the classification of diagnosis, 10 subjects were cerebral infarction and 10 subjects were cerebral hemorrhage, by the classification of affected side, 11 Rt hemiplegic patients, 9 Lt hemiplegic patients who were above at least post onset 2 month to a year. It was evaluated and analyzed pre and post treatment with MMSE and FIM, and the method of transfer of training approach was practiced every 30 min a day for a month. The data were analyzed by t-test and one way ANOVA. The results of this study were as follows: 1. There was significant in the effect of transfer of training approach on cognitive function of stroke patinets. 2. There was significant in the effect of transfer of training approach on functional recovery of stroke patients. 3. There was a significant difference in the effect of treatment in the group of cerebral infarction.

        The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of knee exercises on the onset times of vastus medialis oblique muscle (VMO) and vastus lateralis muscle (VL) and in healthy subjects. Fifteen subjects (7 men, 8 women) in a mean age of 26.4 years participated in the study. Electromyographic (EMG) signals were recorded from the VMO and VL under four exercises. Knee exercises consisted of open kinematic terminal knee extension, straight leg raising, isometric hip adduction exercise, and closed kinematic terminal knee extension. No significant differences were found in the onset times of EMG activities of VMO and VL in the four exercises. There were also no significant differences among the exercises. These results coincided with previous studies that found no difference between onset of VMO and VL. However, it is difficult to say that there is no difference between onset of VMO and VL in healthy subjects. To confirm this results, further researches that follow same on set determination metod and exercises are needed. Not only is the study of onset time of muscle needed, but also the studies of the amount of activation and the rate of increase of muscle activation are needed.

        The purpose of this study were to evaluate the effect of program in visual perception on eye-hand coordination in a child with cerebral palsy. The results were as follows. 1) Eye-hand coordination were increased significantly compared to doing without pretreatment with the program in visual perception with time-dependent fashion with a cerebral palsy child 2) A most increased part of eye-hand coordination activities was a large heavy objects and a least increased part of those was a writing. From the above results, it is suggested that program in visual perception is a most useful therapy for a child with cerebral palsy having incomplete eye-hand coordination activity functionally.

        The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of ‘knowledge of results’ on wrist proprioceptive training in three persons with poststroke hemiplegia who had no unilateral spatial neglect on MVPT and had adequate cognition on MMSE-K. A single subject design with multiple baseline across individuals was employed. Each subject participated daily in the 10-15 minutes' wrist proprioceptive training for the affected wrist with ‘knowledge of results’ which informed the subjects of their wrist position verbally or visually as feedback. The proprioception was measured as average frequency and percentage of the correct responses on the wrist proprioceptive test in the affected side using apparatus of researcher’s own design and SoloSystem. The measurements were repeated three times; baseline, immediately, and 30 minutes after the training. The results were as follow: 1. During the baseline period, the number of average correct responses in three subjects were: S1 7.20(36.00%), S2 7.25(36.25%), and S3 10.58(52.92%) respectively. 2. Immediately after the training, the number of average correct responses in three subjects were: S1 14.07(69.67%), S2 12.83(64.17%), and S3 15.63 (78.13%) respectively. 3. Thirty minutes after the training, the number of average correct responses in three subjects were: S1 15.53(77.67%), S2 14.25(71.25%), S3 6.38(81.88%) respectively. 4. All the three subjects showed more correct responses in wrist proprioceptive tests at wrist flexion 60°and extension 60°during both the baseline and the training period. They also showed the highest improvement of correct response at neutral wrist position. These results indicated that ‘knowledge of results’ had positive effects on improving and maintaining the wrist proprioception of affected wrists in persons with poststroke hemiplegia. Effect of such improvement on the functional aspect of stroke-affected upper extremity remains to be evaluated in the later study.

        The purpose of this study was to find a more effective balance training method. The subjects of this study were 14 children with cerebral palsy (7 males, 7 females) being treated at Seran Pediatric Developmental Research Center in Taegu. Two groups of children with cerebral palsy (everyday trained group, every-other-day trained group) were evaluated with visual & auditory feedback. Evaluation and training device was Balance Performance Monitor (BPM) Dataprint Software Version 5.3. There was statistically significant difference of the balance score between the pre-and the post-training in both group (p<.05), but there was no difference of the balance score between two groups (p<.05). In conclusion, it is likely that the visual and auditory feedback in children with cerebral palsy was effective in improving standing balance, but there was no difference between everyday trained group and every-other-day trained group.

        To improve the effect of balance training, visual feedback is usually used. During the training process there are some factors which decrease the effect. Neurophysiologically, the main negative factor is thought to be synaptic fatigue which decreases the sensitivity of synapses. The purpose of this study was to find a more effective balance training method. In this study, a total of 60 normal subjects-19~30 years old young males and females(M=30, F=30)-participated, and they were randomized as A, B, and C group, each group containing 20 subjects. First, all groups had a pre-test of sway balance. One minute later, A group was trained in sway balance by continuous visual feedback for 2 minutes, B group by intermittent visual feedback which had 4 sessions of 30 seconds each and a one minute rest break. C group was not trained at all. All groups had a post-test. Only B group had improved balance compared with C group by ANOVA. On the other hand, intermittent visual feedback was more effective than continuous visual feedback in sway balance training with normal subjects.ㅂ

        Weight bearing training on the involved leg is impotant for ambulation and activities of daily living in ambulatory hemiplegic patients. Traditionally, physical therapists have relied on exercise therapy and subjective evaluation. The goal for this study was to measure lower extremity weight distribution in standing with ten hemiplegic pations(M:8, F:2) and to determine the traing effect on symmetrical standing posture using a "Limloader". The Limloader is a machine designed for training symmetrical weight bearing posture. The results showed that the ability to keep the center of gravity within the limits for balance was improved significantly but the ability to adjust weight bearing on the involved leg was not (p<0.05). This study demostrated that hemiplegics can improved their symmetrical weight bearing ability using sensory biofeedback.
