        미세먼지 등 대기오염이 일상화되고 국민 건강을 위협하면서 육상뿐만 아니라 해상 선박에서 발생하는 대기오염물질에 대한 관리 필요성이 대두되고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 선박 배출량 현황을 바탕으로 해양경찰 업무 중심의 선박 대기오염물질 점검 실태를 진단 하고 배출 저감을 위한 국가 관리 대책을 제안한다. 최근 국립환경과학원(NIER, 2018)에 따르면 선박에서 배출된 총량(CO, NOx, SOx, TSP, PM10, PM2.5, VOCs, NH3, BC)은 국내 전체 발생량의 6.4 %로 나타났고, 이 중 NOx는 13.1 %, SOx는 10.9 %, 미세먼지(PM10/PM2.5)는 9.6 %를 차지하고 있다. 선박 발생량 중에서는 국내외 입출항 화물선이 50.6 %로 가장 많은 배출을 보였고, 어선의 배출 비율도 42.6 %로 적지 않 음을 알 수 있었다. 지역적으로 해양경찰 관할 5개 권역을 기준으로는 부산항, 울산항을 포함한 남해권 44.1 %와 광양항, 여수항을 포함한 서해권 24.8 % 순으로 배출이 많았다. 해양경찰은 대기오염물질 관리를 위해 승선 점검을 통한 선박 배출 상황을 관리하고 있지만, 각종 배출 장치의 가동이나 연료유 기준 등의 실측에는 많은 시간과 노력이 필요하고, 또한 선박의 바쁜 운항스케줄에 따른 제약으로 대부분 서류상의 점검으로 진행됨으로써 관리에 한계가 있다. 따라서 선박 대기오염물질 관리를 위해서는 대기오염물질 발생을 실측 점검으로 바꾸도록 규제를 강화하고 해경 함정 등을 활용한 해역별 모니터링 시스템을 구축하여 실질적 현장 데이터에 기초한 관리가 이뤄지도록 하는 한편, 장단기적으로 환경친화적 선박 도입을 위한 기술 개발과 법·제도적 지원이 필요하다.

        Domestic industrial waste small-scale industrial incinerators produce less than 200 kg/hr; this study chose 13 of the 249 potential facilities. The target average emissions for air pollutants resulting from the facilities were SOx 13.56 ppm, NOx 82.74 ppm, NH3 19.95 ppm, HCl 54.33 ppm, HF 0.84 ppm, Hg N.D, As 0.1 ppm, H2S N.D. Dust and heavy metal analysis results for the facilities revealed Dust 32.51 mg/Sm3, Cd 0.04 mg/Sm3, Pb 0.20 mg/Sm3, Cr 0.08 mg/Sm3, and Cu 0.03 mg/Sm3. Combustion indicators were O2 11.58% and CO 271.20 ppm. Average PCDDs/DFs were 17.87 ng ITEQ/ ton. The target facilities were equipped with anti-pollution facilities. However, some items were found to exceed the emission standards. These results are even equipped with control facilities due to manual limitation actions of the management personnel. Therefore, it is determined that the emission control of contaminants is difficult.

        Emissions from aircraft have impacts on the air pollution of airport and the surrounding area. There are methods of emissions calculated as Tier 1, Tier2, Tier 3A and Tier 3B. Thus, this study investigated emissions from aircraft at the Gimhae International Airport using EDMS(Emissions & Dispersion Modeling System) program. Results of estimation from aviation emissions, Tier 3B considering all parts which can occur at the airport has the largest amount emissions. In order to understand the relation between aviation emissions and distribution of ozone concentration over airport area, numerical evaluation were carried out. Although the difference of surface ozone distribution between numerical assessment with and without aviation emissions was little, effects of air pollution at airport area from aviation emissions of NOx and VOCs.

        The emissions of several air pollutants (NOx, CO, VOCs, etc.) for the replacement of all diesel buses by Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) buses were estimated in the Busan Metropolitan Area (BMA). These emissions were calculated from emission factors considering the different driving speeds with bus routes, distance traveled, and deterioration factors. For the purpose of this study, three categories of fuel type were selected: (1) the combination of diesel (65%) and CNG buses (35%) (DSL+CNG case), (2) all diesel buses (DSL case), and (3) all CNG buses (CNG case). The emissions of NOx and CO in the CNG case were estimated to be significant decreases (by about 50% and 98%, respectively) relative to the DSL case. Conversely, the emission of VOCs (980.7 ton/year) in the CNG case were a factor of 3.3 higher than that (299.8 ton/year) in the DSL case. In addition, the diurnal variations of emissions between two city buses (e.g. diesel and CNG) and all other vehicles were distinctly different because the two city buses operate at a regular time interval. Our overall results suggest the possibility that the pollutant emissions from the CNG buses can exert less influence on air quality in the target area than those from the diesel buses.

        We measured ambient concentrations of hazardous air pollutants such as volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and aldehydes in residential areas nearby small and medium scale shipbuilding companies. The VOC concentrations were higher during the normal operation periods than vacation at which almost all operations were shutdown. Concentrations of VOCs was higher, as the sampling site was nearer from shipbuilding companies. The major components of VOCs were m,p-xylene, ethylbenzene, o-xylene, toluene, and 1,3,5-trimethylbenzene which had been found as major VOC compounds emitted from painting processes of shipbuilding in the previous studies. The major components of aldehydes analyzed were benzaldehyde, acrolein, formaldehyde, and acetaldehyde. The concentration of aldehydes was highest at the furthest sampling point from shipbuilding companies because the formation of aldehyde compounds could be occurred by the secondary chemical reactions of VOCs. The results of this study shows a proper counterplan need to be established for the reduction of hazardous air pollutants emitted from small and medium scale shipping companies.

        Present study was designed to characterize the concentrations of major roadside air pollutants in Daegu and to compare with those of Seoul and Busan. Evaluated were the exceedance frequence of mean concentrations of target compounds(CO, NO2, O3, PM10, SO2) and the relationship for time variation. Two air pollution monitoring stations(one roadside station and one residential station) in Daegu were selected for this study. In addition, one roadside monitoring station from each of Seoul and Busan was chosen for the comparison of Daegu monitoring stations. The data analyzed in the current study were collected from 1998 to 2000 by Daegu Regional Environmental Management Office. The roadside concentrations of NO2 and PM10 and the exceedance frequency of ambient air standard levels in Daegu were higher than those of Seoul and Busan. Except O3, the roadside concentrations of all target compounds showed following three distinguished patterns; first, possibly due to increased traffic density, the concentrations increased from 0500 to 0900(LST), second, the concentrations decreased from 0900 to 1700(LST) possibly due to the increased wind velocity and decreased traffic density, and finally, increased traffic density, the concentrations increased again from 1700 to 2100(LST). An implication was that major air pollution sources shifted from residential area to road-area during rush hours.

        This study was carried out to improve the interior environment by adjusting air of interior landscape. Unlike the methodology of removing interior contaminants through absorption of contaminants from existing interior plants, it introduced methodology of removing CO2 from the interior landscape plants. It examined the amount of m generated and absorbed by plants during 6 hours in sealed chamber. As a result of chamber test of 30 plants I capability of generating CO2 in Fatsia japonica, Monstera deliciosa, Pltilodendron selloum, Schefflera arboricola, Dracaena fragrans 'Massangeana', Ficus benjamiana, etc 30 indoor plants was 17.84 -2.34 ㎍/cm2. It was assumed that high type plants was needed 2-3 plants room, lower type plants was neded 20-30 flower pots as excellent plants for indoor air purification in order to remove CO2 in 20m3 sealed. Therefore it found that indoor plants was applied for suppling fresh air and sustaining indoor air quality safitily and continuously.

        The urban pollution if affected by local environmental, so it is necessary to consider area characteristics such as emission source and meteorological phenomena, in studying urban air pollution. Ulsan is laocated on south-east coast and has many industrial facilities, so many people have concerned about air pollution. This study contain conducting numerical simulation of air pollutant concentration considered land and sea breeze in Ulsan area with the numerical model.

        The oil crisis of the 1970s and the rise in oil prices motivated people to implement energy conservation strategies. Buildings were fitted with additional insulation and reduced ventilation rates. The reduction of mechanical and natural ventilation rate led to increases in indoor pollutant concentrations which resulted in increased health risks from indoor exposure to pollutants. The variable-air-volume/bypass filtration system(VAV/BPFS) is a variation of the conventional VAV systems, The VAV/BPFS is an electronically controlled system that provides cost-effective thermal comfort and acceptable indoor air quality. Under controlled conditions in a chamber, a series experiments were performed to compare the ability of a VAV/BPFS to remove indoor aerosol concentration and to reduce energy consumption with that ability of conventional VAV system. Results show that the VAV/BPFS increases the effective ventilation rate and removes indoor air pollutant, and maintains acceptable indoor air quality without sacrificing energy consumption.

        The diffusion of the pollutants released into atmosphere is dependent on its chemical reaction, topography and micrometeorological characteristics. The purpose of the study is to investigate how much micrometeorological characteristics such as stability, wind speed and mixing height affect the diffusion of the air pollutants. For this purpose, this paper let 1) the basic theory be K-theory, 2) eddy diffusivity and wind speed be dependent on mixing height and stability, and 3) Crout method be used for numerical calculation. The result was 1) the more unstable condition, the higher mixing height and the higher wind speed are, the lower pollutants concentration appears, 2) the most intensive effect on the distribution of the pollutant concentration is the atmospheric stability.
