        This study was conducted to compare volumes estimated from two taper functions and observed volumes of Chamaecyparis obtusa trees to evaluate accuracy and precision of centroid method. Centroid volume estimates were also compared with volume estimates from existing Forest Resources Evaluation and Prediction Program. The results of this study showed that Gregoire’s simple taper function produced unbiased volume estimates while the others were biased. Volume estimates from the Forest Resources Evaluation and Prediction Program were also biased when applied in the Jangseong National Forest regions. These results suggested that the centroid method could produce reliable stem volumes of trees when no other reliable stem volume equations exist.

        표고, 느타리, 양송이, 팽이등 버섯의 종류에 관계없이 발생되고 있는 푸른곰팡이병은 그린몰드(green mold)가 그원인으로 알려져 있으며 이들의 피해는 심각하다. 푸른 곰팡이병을 일으키는 곰팡이로는 Trichoderma, Gliocladium, Aspergillus, Penicillum 등이 현재 알려져 있다. 푸른곰팡 이 병원균은 균사생장 시 균상에 발생하여 버섯균의 균사 생장을 방해하거나 기생하여 버섯균사를 사멸시키며, 버 섯수확기에 병해를 발생시키고 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 버 섯의 수확을 저하시키는 Trichoderma를 억제하기 위하 여 수목추출물 2종을 혼합한 다음 그 효능을 평가하였다. Trichoderma에 대하여 항균력을 나타내는 유효 화합 물질을 확인하기 위하여 GC/MS를 이용하여 편백 휘발성 추출물을 분석한 결과, 50개의 테르펜계 화합물이 존재한 다는 것을 확인하였고 대부분의 물질이 동정되었다. 편백 휘발성 추출물의 주요 화학적 조성은 모노테르펜류인 sabinene 11.62%, limonene 4.31%, isobornyl acetate 6.23%, α-terpinyl acetate 11.75%였으며, 세스퀴테르 펜류로 elemol 11.08%, β-eudesmol 4.02%, epibicyclosesquiphellandrene 4.18%가 나타났다. 소나무와 편백 추출물의 혼합비율 10 : 1(g/g) 제제는 T. aggressivum에서 20.4%, T. atroviride에서 14.0%, T. harzianum에서 32.0%, T. koningii에서 26.8%, T. viride에서 19.0%의 항균활성을 나타냈다. Trichoderma 균주는 편백 추출물의 첨가량이 증가함에 따라 항균활성 이 감소하는 경향을 나타냈다. Trichoderma 균주는 편백 추출물보다는 소나무 열수추출물에 대하여 영향을 받았다.

        In this study, essential oils were extracted from the leaf of Chamaecyparis obtusa (CLEO), indigenous toKorea, CLEO constituents were analysed, and the effects of CLEO on airway hyperresponsiveness (AHR) and airwayinflammation (AI) were investigated in Ovalbumin (OVA)-induced asthma mouse model. Terpenoid components amongidentified CLEO constituents made up more than 80%. The CLEO-treated group in comparison to the control groupshowed reduced AHR, the decrease of eosinophil number in the bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF), reduced specific anti-OVA IgE level in the serum, and a significant reduction in Th2 cytokines levels in the BALF with concentration. We con-cluded that CLEO have an alleviating effect on asthma-like symptoms such as AHR and AI. Further studies about antiasth-matic effect are necessary on the focus of single component of CLEO.

        Taxifolin-3-O-β-D-xylopyranoside and quercetin-3-O-α-L-rhamnopyranoside were isolated from an EtOAc-soluble extract of the leaves of Chamaecyparis obtuse. Quercetin-3-O-α-L-rhamnopyranoside was found to possess a potent inhibitory activity of human recombinant aldose reductase in vitro, its IC50 value being 11.5 μM. Kinetic analysis showed that quercetin-3-O-α-L-rhamnopyranoside exhibited uncompetitive inhibition against DL-glyceraldehyde. Also, quercetin-3-O-α-L-rhamnopyranoside suppresses sorbitol accumulation in rat lens under high glucose conditions, demonstrating the potential to prevent sorbitol accumulation in vivo. These results suggest that this compound may be a promising agent in the prevention or treatment of diabetic complications.

        This study was conducted to develop the effects of site environmental factors on estimation of site index function for Chamaecyparis obtusa Endlicher stands. We derived nonlinear growth equation and the draw site index curves by applying this estimated equation. This study with Chapman-Richards function showed significant P-value which was less then 0.0001 and R2 value 0.5947. This study was conducted to develop the feasible site index equation of Chamaecyparis obtusa Endlicher. For the table, the data of 82 sample areas that were thought to be without errors among the data of Chamaecyparis obtusa Endlicher sample area located on the value-oriented forest location chart were used and estimated. After analyzing the quantification method I based on 13 environmental factors to develop the score table for the site-index estimation of Chamaecyparis obtusa Endlicher, R2 value of the model was 0.7555. It has been analyzed that the scope value of Soil moisture in horizon A was 7.5045, that of total soil depth was 6.3896, that of topography was 5.3471, that of slope was 4.7000 and that of aspect was 3.2038. After analyzing the partial correlation to examine the factors that affected most the site-index of Chamaecyparis obtusa Endlicher, it has been noted that the partial correlation of climatic zone was 0.4987, which was highest, and it was followed by Soil moisture in horizon A (0.4592), slope (0.4537), topography (0.3299) and total soil depth (0.1035). As a result of conducting the significance test for partial correlation, it has been found that topography, climatic zone, parent rock, slope, altitude, aspect, Soil moisture in horizon A, soil hardness in horizon A and total soil depth were recognized significant with 1% of significance level and sedimentary type and soil texture in horizon A were recognized significant with 5% of significance level.
