        구조물의 진동에 의해 유발되는 사용성, 안정성 저하를 방지하고, 성능을 개선하기 위하여 많은 진동제어시스템이 사용되어 왔다. 제어기 설계가 H2-norm, H∞-norm 으로 분리되어 독립적으로 이루어지다가 LMI 기법에 의하여 보다 효율적인 제어기 설계가 가능하게 되었다. 본 연구에서는 관심지점의 구조물 응답을 특정한 값 이하로 보장한 상태에서 제진장치 구동에 필요한 변수를 최소 화하는 제어알고리듬을 개발하여 능동형뿐만 아니라 수동형제진장치에도 적용하는 방안을 제시하였다. 관심지점의 구조물 응답의 제한은 요구 등가감쇠비와 H∞-norm을 연계하여 구속조건으로 설정하고 목적함수는 제진장치의 이송거리 또는 댐퍼 용량은 H2-norm으 로 표현하는 혼합제어를 구성하였다. 본 연구에서 제안된 혼합제어 기법을 능동질량감쇠기와 등가치환 점탄성 댐퍼가 설치된 구조물에 적용하여 수치적으로 검증하였다. 수치해석결과, 혼합제어문제를 LMI표준형으로 전환하면 능동형, 수동형 제진장치 설계를 보다 용이하게 적용 가능함을 알 수 있었다.

        A two-level full factorial design 22 with three replications was employed to assess the effect of the incorporation of PSF into the epoxy matrix and the surface treatment of carbon fibers on the work of adhesion (WA) and the interfacial shear strength (IFSS) of carbon fiber–epoxy composites. The IFSS was determined using the microbond (or microdrop) micromechanical test, and the work of adhesion was estimated using two different procedures: (1) using the Owens and Wendt method, and (2) from the Dupre–Young expression using the contact angle θ of a cured epoxy resin on a single carbon fiber and the surface energy of the cured epoxy resin. It was found that the treatment of the carbon fiber with the silane-coupling agent appreciably increases its polar component because of the nitric acid oxidation and the chemisorption of the silane-coupling agent onto the carbon fiber surface. Also, the O=S=O group present in the polysulfone chain resin fairly increases the polar component of the epoxy–PSF blend. The results show that the wetting of the silane-treated carbon fiber by the thermoplastic-modified epoxy resin is better, thus increasing the fiber–matrix adhesion. It was also found that there is a similarity between the trends of both, the IFSS and the WA results. Also, from the ANOVA results it was also seen that both the incorporation of the PSF to the epoxy matrix and the surface treatment of the carbon fibers and their interaction were statistically significant to the IFSS and the WA.

        A series of molecular dynamic (MD), finite element (FE) and ab initio simulations are carried out to establish suitable modeling schemes for the continuum-based analysis of aluminum matrix nanocomposites reinforced with carbon nanotubes (CNTs). From a comparison of the MD with FE models and inferences based on bond structures and electron distributions, we propose that the effective thickness of a CNT wall for its continuum representation should be related to the graphitic inter-planar spacing of 3.4Å. We also show that shell element representation of a CNT structure in the FE models properly simulated the carbon-carbon covalent bonding and long-range interactions in terms of the load-displacement behaviors. Estimation of the effective interfacial elastic properties by ab initio simulations showed that the in-plane interfacial bond strength is negligibly weaker than the normal counterpart due to the nature of the weak secondary bonding at the CNT-Al interface. Therefore, we suggest that a third-phase solid element representation of the CNT-Al interface in nanocomposites is not physically meaningful and that spring or bar element representation of the weak interfacial bonding would be more appropriate as in the cases of polymer matrix counterparts. The possibility of treating the interface as a simply contacted phase boundary is also discussed.

        This study proposes the generation mechanism of various design matrix using generalized linear model for design of experiment. Design generation method of GLM analysis, factorial design(FD) with center points, ANOVA design with lack-of-fit test, and response surface design are introduced. In central composite(CC) design, orthogonal blocking and fractional factorial design(FFD) are presented. We compare the design of Box-Benhken(BB) and face-centred central compsite design.

        Optimal weighting matrix in LQR method for determining sliding surfaces is proposed for different types of sliding mode controllers (SMC). In order to identify the control performance variation of SMC accorcling to the dynamic characteristics of sliding surfaces, parametric study is performed for single-degree-of-freedom (SDOF) systems and control force limit is considered. Also, based on the results from SDOF systems,a procedure for optimal weighting matrix is proposed for multi-degree-of-freedom systems. Numerical analyses show that the SMC using proposed weighting matrix provide better control performance than the existing SMC, and it uses less control energy.

        In this paper, we present a linear controller for attitude of aircraft. We use a rotational matrix in one approach and a quaternion in the other approach. We also find some interesting mathematical properties concerning a symmetric rotational matrix and we use these properties to analyze the stability of the proposed control law. We find that the quaternion approach is better than rotational matrix approach because there exists no singular region problem in quaternion approach. On the other hand, singular region problem may happens in rotational matrix approach. The controller structure of the quaternion is also very simple compared with the one proposed by using a rotational matrix approach. We make use Matlab Simulink to simulate and illustrate the theoretical claims. The graphic animation program is developed based on Open-GL for the computer simulation of the proposed control algorithm.
