        The ride quality (i.e. smoothness) is a key factor for evaluating the construction quality of expressway asphalt pavement. Conventionally, three paving devices are widely used to control the surface layer thickness: leveling sensor (i.e. LS), short-range-surfacing-contact-ski (i.e. SSCS) and long-range-surfacing-contact-ski (i.e. LSCS). However, each of these levelling tools presents one major drawback. In the case of LS, if the original sub-layer evenness is poor, the final asphalt pavement surface and its smoothness will be negatively affected. The SSCS cannot assure satisfactory smoothness when relatively long paving section (in the order of 10 km) are paved. While the LSCS would reduce the drawback of the SSCS, its weight on the one hand and its length on the other discourage its use in the paving site especially for curved sections. In this paper, a next generation pavement smoothness leveling equipment, known as non-contact-digital-ski (i.e. NCDS) was implemented, evaluated and compared to the conventional equipment leveling device. The international Roughness Index (IRI m/km) was measured on sections paved with and without NCDS and the results visually and statistically compared. In addition, for the same sections, the modulus of the pavement layers was computed and compared by means of Falling Weight Deflectometer (i.e. FWD). It was observed that when NCDS is used for asphalt pavement overlay of existing concrete pavement, significant improvement in IRI (i.e. IRI<1.0m/km) and consistently uniform elastic modulus could be achieved compared to the conventional levelling and paving method.

        The aim of this research is to expand application areas of the advanced manufacturing concept and technology based on combining the traditional weaving techniques with digital forming technology. Through the man-machine interface of traditional weaving techniques of processing machines and craftsmanship complex data visualization and interactive operation, Virtual Reality Technology can realize computer model images, which is a kind of new form of artistic language and the key of VR art presenting its unique advantages. Combined with digital technology, the production of raw materials can generate 2D graphics, and 3D object can also be generated by using rapid solidification laser material preparation and forming technology (3-Dimension Printing). In one word, the traditional weaving techniques of processing machine and craftsmanship realized the complete inheritance. In this paper, main content are 4 parts including the analysis of ethnic traditional weaving technology in southwest areas of China, the usage of fashion digital simulation forming technology, the combination of traditional weaving technology with digital forming technology, and expanding of digital customized technology. We started our research work using grass linen and its weaving machine. In the end, the conclusion of study will be used to build the digital museum online for Southwest Ethnic Traditional Weaving Technology Museum, which is also bridging around world marketing for traditional culture.

        The digital technology that has brought about the information revolution acts as the causes of multi-faceted socio-cultural phenomena. The spread of the digital environment and the popularity of the digital devices accelerate the phenomenon or the fusion of culture and technology, and such a phenomenon is no exception in the fashion design. Namely, the combination of fashion design and digital-based technology draws more and more attention; Not only the technology is simply applied to the fashion design, but also it is used as an emotional tool to enhance consumers' satisfaction, while some designs and marketing cases stimulating consumers' emotion are highlighted importantly. This study was aimed at surveying and analyzing the contemporary fashion using the digital technology and thereupon, assessing the characteristics of the emotional representations of technology as well as their aesthetic values. To this end, the theory of ‘science of emotion and sensibility’ was applied to divide the characteristics of emotional technological expressions in the contemporary fashion into immateriality, non-boundary, multi-media and interaction, while the aesthetic values of the emotional technology immanent in the contemporary fashion were categorized into communication & participation, conceptual configuration, physical expansion and variable movement. This study analyzed uses of technology for human emotion and sensibility shown in not only collections but also communication media and exhibition spaces and thereby, suggested the direction for our fashion industry to fulfill consumers' changing needs and advance further.

        Maximizing students’ ability and potential in the teaching learning process will likely be the goal of a teacher. This will give the chance for the students to employ all the skills and knowledge they have obtained throughout the learning process. One-way for utilizing this idea is by implementing a particular method called digital storytelling. This paper tries to investigate the impact of integrating technology in students’ learning process - especially English - using existing technology. It also investigates what the students get from the implementation of digital storytelling in their learning. This employs a survey method to gather the information from students before the implementation of digital storytelling. It involves 15 students taking English for Specific Purposes at the Faculty of Information Technology, Satya Wacana Christian University Salatiga. It employs practical implementation of digital storytelling to answer the two objectives set previously. The students involved in the study reported that it was a good way of implementing all the skills they had learned during the class. They needed to employ their reading, speaking, and writing skills to carry out their project. They mentioned that it improved their productive skills in English and gave them opportunities to explore and try new applications in producing the intended video. This method is a simple way of integrating technology into classroom activity that can maximize students’ possible potential to develop. This also gives them a sense of enjoyment and satisfaction as they have their end product that they can refer to at any time

        The art field of contemporary society is developing rapidly, and digital media is developing at a high speed. The installation art, which is rooted in contemporary art, has gradually become an important art form of new media art with its unique conceptual, experimental, on-site and interactive nature. In the late 20th century, the media scene has become more diversified with the development of science and technology, and the creation form and content of installation art have been more fully developed, and once became the patent of avant-garde fashion designers. On this basis, with the help of outdoor art behavior, the article makes an in-depth exploration and research on the integration and development of digital media technology and installation art.

        본 논문에서는 재난재해 정보를 제공할 수 있는 GIS 디지털 맵의 효율적인 압축 기법들의 동향을 살펴본다. GIS 기술의 빠른 발전으로 2D에서 3D로 고차원적 GIS 맵 데이터의 용량이 방대해지고 있으며 이를 빠르고 전송하기 위해서는 데이터 압축 기술이 필요하다. 일반적으로 GIS 디지털 맵의 표현 및 저장 방식에는 아스키(ASCII)와 바이너리(binary) 형식이 존재한다. 벡터 맵 데이터로 이루어진 GIS 벡터 맵 데이터의 구조는 많은 레이어(layer)로 구성되고 각 레이어는 지형, 하천, 도로 등의 실세계의 지리정보들을 점(point), 선(polyline), 면(polygon)의 속성을 이용하여 각 단말의 환경에 따른 효율적인 GIS 벡터 맵의 전송 및 저장을 위한 손실 및 무손실 데이터 압축 기법이 존재한다. 벡터 맵 데이터의 압축 기술 연구로 Kolesnikov는 벡터 맵의 점진적 전송을 위한 압축 기법을 제안하였다. 이 기법은 협대역 네트워크 환경에서 효과적이고 높은 압축률과 수행속도는 빠르지만 폴리곤 속성에 제한적으로 수행이 가능하며 정밀지도를 표현하기에는 어려움이 존재한다. Shekhar 등은 사전 검색 알고리즘을 활용한 압축 해제 손실 최소화하는 비가역 압축 기법을 제안하였지만 정밀 지도 데이터의 무손실 압축에 활용은 어려움이 존재한다. Alecander 등은 지각적인 차이의 최소화하여 벡터 데이터를 제거하는 방법을 제안하였다. 하지만 손실압축을 수행하기 때문에 특정 목적을 수행하기 위한 정밀 지도 데이터 압축에는 적용하기 어렵다. GIS 디지털 맵 압축 기술에는 손실 압축의 경우 데이터의 손실은 있으나 압축률이 높아서 저용량의 데이터 전송에 용이하고 무손실 압축의 경우 데이터의 손실은 거의 없으나 압축률이 낮기 때문에 이율 배반성(trade-off)의 관계가 발생한다. 향후 재난재해 정보를 레이어로 구성하여 전송 시 상황에 맞는 효율적인 압축 기술을 선정하여 적용해야한다.

        This study is to develop the technology and the ways of the practical use of the integrated digital map of and Electronical Navigational Chart(ENC) and Digital Terrain Map(DTM) for the effective and scientific based conservation, development and management. In this study, as preliminary studies to make eventual integrated maps, the concept of coastal areas are defined and the characteristics of digital maps developed by Korean Geography Institute and National Marine Investigation Institute are carefully analyzed. A test coastal map was developed based on the integrated digital map, a high resolution satellite image and Global Positioning System. Results from the edge matching analysis of coastal lines shows 8 meters difference in maximum. The problems, causes and solutions for the edge matched differences are described. Furthermore, the practical value of utilization, future use and various field of application are described based on the integrated digital map data base of coastal area.
