        Observations of line of sight (LOS) Doppler velocity and non-thermal line width in the o -limb solar corona are often used for investigating the Alfven wave signatures in the corona. In this study, we compare LOS Doppler velocities and non-thermal line widths obtained simultaneously from two di erent instruments, Coronal Multichannel Polarimeter (CoMP) and Hinode/EUV Imaging Spectrometer (EIS), on various o -limb coronal regions: aring and quiescent active regions, equatorial quiet region, and polar prominence and plume regions observed in 2012{2014. CoMP provides the polarization at the Fe xiii 10747 A coronal forbidden lines which allows their spectral line intensity, LOS Doppler velocity, and line width to be measured with a low spectral resolution of 1.2 A in 2-D o limb corona between 1.05 and 1.40 RSun, while Hinode/EIS gives us the EUV spectral information with a high spectral resolution (0.025 A) in a limited eld of view raster scan. In order to compare them, we make pseudo raster scan CoMP maps using information of each EIS scan slit time and position. We compare the CoMP and EIS spectroscopic maps by visual inspection, and examine their pixel to pixel correlations and percentages of pixel numbers satisfying the condition that the di erences between CoMP and EIS spectroscopic quantities are within the EIS measurement accuracy: 3 kms􀀀1 for LOS Doppler velocity and 9 kms􀀀1 for non-thermal width. The main results are summarized as follows. By comparing CoMP and EIS Doppler velocity distributions, we nd that they are consistent with each other overall in the active regions and equatorial quiet region (0.25  CC  0.7), while they are partially similar to each other in the overlying loops of prominences and near the bottom of the polar plume (0.02  CC  0.18). CoMP Doppler velocities are consistent with the EIS ones within the EIS measurement accuracy in most regions ( 87% of pixels) except for the polar region (45% of pixels). We nd that CoMP and EIS non-thermal width distributions are similar overall in the active regions (0.06  CC  0.61), while they seem to be di erent in the others (􀀀0:1  CC  0.00). CoMP non-thermal widths are similar to EIS ones within the EIS measurement accuracy in a quiescent active region (79% of pixels), while they do not match in the other regions ( 61% of pixels); the CoMP observations tend to underestimate the widths by about 20% to 40% compared to the EIS ones. Our results demonstrate that CoMP observations can provide reliable 2-D LOS Doppler velocity distributions on active regions and might provide their non-thermal width distributions.

        농업용 노외작업 기계는 작업속도가 변이하므로 경운 시비 방제 파종 작업등에서 주행속도를 정확하게 측정할 필요가 있다. 도플러 레이더는 포장에서 속도측정의 신뢰성이 있어 견인효율 또는 변량제어 연구 등에서 사용될 수 있을 것으로 판단된다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 도플러 레이더 속도계를 이용하여 주행속도를 측정할 때 콘크리트 견고지면에서 보정된 기준 변환계수를 포장실험에서도 적용이 가능한지에 대한 엄격한 통계적 검토와 검증을 수행하였다. 견고지면에서 얻은 기준 변환계수를 비교군으로 포장실험의 결과를 검증하기 위하여 Proc GLM을 사용하였다. 완전모델 의 분산분석 결과에서 유의하지 않은 교호항을 제거한 주 변수모델에 대하여도 유의하지 않았다. 사후분석에서 보수적이고 엄격한 Scheffe 방법으로 민감한 계수를 검정하였고 또한 유의하지 않았다. 기준 변환계수를 비교군으로 하여 대비처리(contrast) 하였고 유의하지 않았다. 견고지면에서 평가한 기준 변환계수(a0=0.0396)와 기준절편(y0=-0.0235)을 바탕으로 평가한 변환계수(a)의 절대오차(Erra)는 –0.415×10-3 이었고, 퍼센트 오차는 –1.18% 였다. 따라서 기준 변환계수는 포장작업의 주행속도의 환산계수로 사용되어도 측정치에 심각한 오차를 초래하지 않을 것이다.

        한국 남해안 금호열도 주변 다도해역의 조류특성과 해수순환 구조를 파악하기 위해 대조와 소조시 ADCP bottom tracking을 이 용한 25시간 선박 항주관측을 실시하였다. 대조시 낙조와 창조 방향은 남동-북서이며, 최강유속은 표층 약 40 cm/s이다. 개도주변은 지형적 특성으로 주변해역의 탁월유향과 다르고, 유향·유속의 분산이 크다. 전 구간 표~저층 흐름에 두드러진 경압모드 성분은 없었다. 이는 좁은 수로와 얕은 수심, 빠른 유속으로 지형성와류나 eddy로 인한 연직혼합이 활발했음을 나타낸다. 소조시 조류는 남남동-북북서, 평균유속은 대조의 85 %이다. 탁월유향은 대조보다 우세하지 못하고 지속시간도 짧다. 흐름은 연직방향 유속시어, 수평와류, 비대칭 조류혼합으로 물질의 수평·연직이동이 왕성할 것으로 추정된다. 일평균조류는 개도 서~북서 수로해역이 북서~북동, 금오도 서쪽은 서남서~남남서 방향 최 대 21 cm/s의 흐름이 존재한다. 소리도 서쪽에는 좌선환류나 와류가 형성되었다.

        슬로싱과 같은 액체의 동적 거동을 측정하고 제어하는 연구가 다양한 공학분야에서 활발히 진행중이다. 건축공학분야에서 도 건축물의 풍진동을 저감시키는 동조액체감쇠기의 연구에 액제 진동이 측정되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 기존 파고 측정 센서의 한계를 극복하기 위하여 레이저 장비 중 LDV와 스캐닝 장비 중 갈바노미터스캐너를 이용하여 동조액체감쇠기 내의 액체 진동을 측정하는 방법을 제안하고 검증하였다. LDV가 속도와 변위를 측정하는 원리를 기술하였고 갈바노미터스캐너의 구동 원리에 따라 LDV의 단일 포인트로 다점측정이 가능한 시스템을 구성하였다. 동조 액체감쇠기의 4점 액체 진동을 측정하여 각 점의 시간 영역 데이터를 기존에 사용하던 비디오 센싱 데이터와 비교하였고 파형 분석을 통해 진행파와 정상파를 구별할 수 있음을 확인하였다. 또한 측정 딜레이가 있는 데이터를 상호 상관을 취하여 특이값 분해를 하고 이론 및 비디오 센싱 결과와 일치하는 고유진동수와 모드형상을 도출하였다.

        In this study, dynamic vertical displacement of liquid in the tuned liquid column damper(TLCD) is measured by a laser Doppler vibrometer(LDV) to overcome limitations of existing sensors and to leverage noncontact sensing. Addressing advantages of noncontact measurements, operational principles of the LDV to measure velocity and displacement of a target object in motion is explained. The feasibility of application of the LDV to measurement of liquid motion in the TLCD is experimentally explored. A series of shake table tests with the TLCD are performed to determine requirements of application of the LDV. Based on the experimental results, it is proved that the LDV works under the condition of adding dye to the liquid by increasing the intensity of reflected laser and thus validity is verified by comparison with a conventional wave height meter.

        ADCPs have been widely used to estimate the dynamic characteristics and biomass of sound scattering layers (SSLs), and swimming speed of fish schools for analyzing SSLs spatial distribution and/or various behavior patterns. This result showed that the verification of the mean volume backscattering strength (MVBS or averaged SV, dB) acquired by the ADCP would be necessary for a quantitative analysis on the spatial distribution and the biomass estimation of the SSLs or fish school when ADCP is used for estimating their biomass. In addition, the calibrated sphere method was used to verify values of each MVBS obtained from 4 beams of ADCP (153.6 kHz) on the base of 3 frequencies (38, 120, 200 kHz) of Scientific echo sounder's split beam system. Then, the measured SV values were compared and analyzed in its Target Strength (TS, dB) values estimated by a theoretical acoustic scattering model.

        This study was conducted in order to evaluate three different non- invasive blood pressure measurement methods (NIBP) in comparison with direct blood pressure measurements in anesthetized dogs. Ten normal healthy Beagle dogs (mean age; 3.7 ± 1.01 yrs, mean body weight 10.2 ± 1.15 kg) were enrolled in this study. BP was measured using three different methods, i.e., Doppler (DOP), oscillometric, and high density oscillometric (HDO) methods, simultaneously, five times in each subject under anesthesia at three different locations (right, left front legs, and tail). The blood pressure value measured by the Doppler method was the closest to the value measured by the direct method. Although the accuracy and consistency of BP measured by three different non-invasive methods differed according to the method, all methods, except the conventional oscillometric method, were acceptable for monitoring systolic blood pressure in anesthetic dogs. The inter-measurement variations in DOP and HDO were minimal without affecting the consistency of the test results.

        This study shows that the vertical migration speed of sound scattering layers (SSLs), which is distributed in near Funka Bay, were measured by 3D velocity components acquired from a bottom moorng ADCP. While the bottom mooring type has a problem to measure the velocity vectors of sound scattering layer distributed near to surface, both the continuous vertical migration patterns and variability of backscatterers were routinely investigated as well. In addition, the velocity vectors were compared with the vertical migration velocity estimated from echograms of Mean Volume Backscattering Strength, and estimated to produce observational bias due to SSLs which is composed of backscatterers such as euphausiids, nekton, and fishes have swimming ability.

        This study was performed to estimate the swimming velocity of Pacific saury (Cololabis saira) migrated offshore Funka Bay of Hokkaido using an acoustic Doppler current profiler (OceanSurveyor, RDI, 153.6kHz) established in T/S Ushio-maru of Hokkaido University, in September 27, 2003. The ADCP's doppler shift revealed as the raw data that the maximum swimming velocity was measured 163.0cm/s, and its horizontal swimming speed and direction were 72.4±24.1 cm/s, 160.1˚±22.3˚ while the surrounding current speed and direction were 19.6±8.4 cm/s, 328.1˚±45.3˚. To calculate the actual swimming speed of Pacific saury in each bins, comparisons for each stratified bins must be made between the mean surrounding current velocity vectors, measured for each stratified bin, and its mean swimming velocity vectors, assumed by reference (threshold 〉 -70dB) and 5dB margin among four beams of ADCP. As a result, the actual averaged swimming velocity was 88.6cm/s and the averaged 3-D swimming velocity was 91.3cm/s using the 3-D velocity vector, respectively.

        To study kinematics of solar prominences, we have made Ha spectrographic study of an eruptive prominence which appeared on the 27th of August, 1992 with a position angle of 270 deg. The observation was carried out by a Littrow type spectrograph and a G1 CCD camera attached to the 25cm coronagraph at Norikura Coronal Station. In taking the spectral data the slit was placed in parallel to the solar limb at 7 different heights, each being separated by 5 arcsec with a time step of 30 sec. The observed eruptive prominence shows a wide range of line of sight Doppler velocity, spanning from Vdopp=−17.5km/stoVdopp=58.2km/s Vdopp=−17.5km/stoVdopp=58.2km/s . It is also found that the velocity increases with height at the rate of ΔV=0.86km/s/arcsec ΔV=0.86km/s/arcsec .

        In patients with acute cerebral infarction, taranscranial ultrasonography is helpful in assessing blood flow, but in some patients, failure to detect cerebral blood flow through the temporal window is an important problem in expansion of clinical indications for transcranial ultrasonography. This study was performed between May 2016 and September 2016 in patients admitted to the neurology department of Chosun University Hospital with cerebral infarction and underwent transcranial ultrasonography and brain magnetic resonance image. Of the 129 patients, 47 were female (36.4%). The mean age of the patients was 80.7±8.0 years. Fifty patients (38.8%) did not showed any blood flow signal due to poor temporal window. The mean age of patients with temporal window failure (83.8±6.0 years) was significantly higher than without temporal window failure (78.7±8.5), and the temporal window failure was significantly higher in women. In conclusion, temporal window failure was more common in elderly and women in this study. In addition to temporal bone thickness and heterogeneity of temporal bone due to osteoporosis, hyperlipidemia may also be associated with temporal window failure and future prospective studies will be needed.
