본 연구는 영화 <헤어질 결심>을 중심으로 영화 속 색상의 상징적 의 미와 감독의 제작 스타일을 탐구하여 영화 속에서 색상이 얼마나 중요한 지를 이해하고, 감독이 색상을 통해 주제를 어떻게 전달하는지를 보여주 고자 한다. 본 연구는 움베르토 에코 기호학을 바탕으로 색상의 보편적 인 상징성과 결합하여 ‘표현-내용-해석체’의 삼원론적 기호 관계를 분석 방법으로 사용하고, 추측 방법을 통해 색상 기호 의미의 생산 과정을 설 명하고 영화 속 색상의 다양한 표현 방식이 상징하는 의미를 심도 있게 발굴하였다. 또한, ‘기호 활동’의 반복 이론을 통해 서로 다른 색상의 반 복적인 등장을 분석하여 색상과 영화 주제와의 연관성을 설명하였다. 본 연구를 통해 박찬욱 감독이 독창적인 색상 활용을 영화의 디테일한 부분 과 잘 접목시켜 영화 표현 형식의 다양화와 주제 강화를 실현하고, 관객 의 감성적 참여를 높인다는 것을 알 수 있다. 색상은 긴장감이 넘치는 분위기를 조성할 뿐만 아니라 인물에게 신비한 매력을 부여해 전반적인 스토리에 예술적 요소를 더한다. 본 연구는 영화 속 색상 활용에 따른 기호학 분석에 새로운 아이디어와 방법을 제시하고, 영화 제작에 이론적 인 참고 자료를 제공하고자 한다. 향후 연구에서는 더 많은 기호학 이론 을 활용해 연구 범위를 확대하고, 영화 색상 활용에 대한 인식을 풍부하 게 하여 영화 예술 발전을 더욱 촉진할 수 있을 것이다.

초고압 균질(high pressure homogenization, HPH)처리를 이용해 HPH처리 압력(103-193 MPa), HPH처리 횟수(1-3회), 글리세롤 첨가 농도(14-70% w/w(모자반 분말))를 변수로 하여 가식성 포장 소재인 모자반 필름 형성 용액을 개발 하 였고, 필름 형성 용액을 캐스팅 방법으로 성형하여 필름을 개발 하였다. 훈제 연어는 필름 형성 용액에 침지 코팅하였 다. 필름 형성 용액의 제작 변수에 따른 물리적 특성을 연구 하였고, 개발 된 필름의 물리적 특성과 색도, 표면 구조를 관찰 하였으며, 훈제 연어의 코팅 전, 후 조직감과 색도 그리고 향기 성분을 분석하여 가공식품인 훈제 연어에 대한 적용 가능성을 연구 하였다. HPH처리 된 필름 형성 용액은 유가소성 유체였으며, 처리 압력과 횟수가 각각 103에서 193 MPa로, 1 회에서 3 회로 증가함에 따라 필름 형성 용액의 점도는 감소하는 경향을 보였다. 필름의 입자크기, 인장 강도, 수증기 투과율 그리고 용해도는 HPH 처리 압력과 횟수가 증가함에 따라 감소하였고, 신장률은 24.7 ± 1.3에서 38.0 ± 2.7%로 유의적으로 증가하였다(p<0.05). 색도는 명도와 황색도가 각각 31.1 ± 2.1에서 42.8 ± 1.2으로, 10.3 ± 3.3에 서 26.8 ± 1.4로 증가하였고(p<0.05), 적색도는 유지 되었으며(p>0.05), 표면 구조는 필름 형성 용액을 193 MPa의 압력 으로 캐스팅한 필름이 103 MPa로 처리한 경우에 비해 입자의 크기가 작고 균일 하였다. 글리세롤 첨가량이 14에서 70% (W/W GW-FS)로 증가됨에 따라 필름의 인장 강도가 4.1 ± 0.8에서 1.1 ± 0.3 MPa로 감소하였고(p<0.05), 신장률은 10.9 ± 2.7에서 21.7 ± 3.0%로 증가 하였으며, 색도 중, 적색도는 감소하였다(p<0.05). 코팅 된 훈제 연어는 처리 전, 후 조직감에 유의적 차이가 없었으며(p>0.05), 명도와 적색도는 각각 54.1 ± 1.0에서 57.5 ± 0.2로, 9.6 ± 0.8에서 16.6 ± 0.8로 증가하였으며(p<0.05). 향 성분은 유지되는 경향을 보였다. 본 연구를 통해 가식성 필름과 코팅의 재료로서 모자반의 이용가능성을 확인하였으며, 모자반 코팅을 훈제 연어에 적용 시 품질 특성을 증진시킴으로써 가공 식품에 대한 적용 가치를 높일 것으로 사료된다.

This study investigated whether people experience a correspondence between color hue-tone and the main characters’ emotions in the 2012 British musical drama film, Les Misérables through three practical experiments. Six screen images, which represent the characters’ different emotions (Parrot’s six primary types including love, joy, surprise, anger, sadness, and fear) were selected. For each screen image, participants were asked to judge the degree of the character’s dominant emotions evoked from 17 varied screen images, which consisted of original chromatic and achromatized images as well as 15 color-filtered images (5 hues X 3 tones of the IRI color system). These tasks revealed that a chromatic color scheme is more effective to deliver the characters’ positive emotions (i.e. love and joy) than an achromatic one. In addition, they proved that the hue and tone dimensions partially influence the relationships between the character emotions and colors.

This study researched the symbolic meaning of the costume colors in the independent film <Bittersweet Life>. The purpose of the study is to shed light on the relation between a film and the clothing color by exploring the symbolic meaning of costume colors as based on place images and as reflected in characters’ internal psychological states and situations. The conclusions of this study are as follows. First, the colors primarily presented were neutral shades of black and white or dark, almost-black tones, representing the negative narrative structure and depicting the image of a human being. Second, a series of bright blue shades were presented to reflect the positive narrative structure of a human being returning successfully to reality. Third, the application of color, involving both the psychological aspect as well as the symbolism of color, was effectively delivered to the audience. Fourth, the emphasis on color in the smallest details of costumes was analyzed, and it was found that symbolic color effectively communicated the whole image of transformation as the story progressed, clearly delivered delicate emotional messages, and contained symbolism relating to particular places and situations.
