        The subject of this study is a zeolite generated as a by-product of recycling LAS (lithium-aluminum-silicate) resources, a kind of glass and ceramic produced by induction. The zeolite by-product is modified into Mg-zeolite using Mg as a cation to absorb Pb, a heavy metal generated from water pollution caused by recent industrial wastewater. An ion-exchange method is used to carry out the modification process, from zeolite byproduct to Mg-zeolite, and simultaneously absorb the Pb in the heavy-metal solution (99.032 mg/L). It is found that the sodium zeolite in the raw material residue can be modified to magnesium zeolite by reacting it with a mixture solution at 1 M concentration for 24 h. As a result, it is found that the residual Pb (0.130 mg/L) in the heavy metal solution is shown to be absorbed by 99.86%, with successful formation of a Mg-modified zeolite.

        Lokapālas are understood as the deities of four directions in Buddhism: Dhṛtarāṣṭra in the East, Virūḍhaka in the South, Virūpākṣa in the West and Vaiśravaṇa in the North respectively. Their common name is, therefore, called as the "Four Guardian Kings", whose function is to prevent demonic forces from entering into its sacred world. Although the position of Lokapālas is to the lowest level in the hierarchy of the minor deities in Buddhism, the cult of Lokapālas was widely spread and prominent in the countries of Northern Buddhism. It played a significant role in terms of the state-protecting Buddhism, on behalf of it's esoteric and magic power. More than 20 Gateways of the Lokapālas and Lokapāla statues were still well preserved in Korea, and they were believed to be constructed after the Japanese attack in 1592. After war, monks had concentrated on restoring ruined temples and building many new Gateways of the Four Guardian Kings over the Korean peninsular. Under such circumstances, even though the Lokapālas played a significant role as the subject of cult in Korean Buddhism. they might have a small chance to be taught traditional Lama iconography exactly. The purpose of this essay is to examine the relation of orientation of the Gate way of Lokapālas and allocation of each Kings inside the gate.

        본 연구는 이온교환에 의한 Li2O-AI2O3 계 결정화유리의 강화에 관한 연구이다. 모유리의 이온교환 전후의 강도를 비교하였으며, 결정화유리의 결정화전후에 이온교환에 따르는 강도를 상호 비교하였다. 그 결과 모유리의 Na+이온교환에 따른 최대 강도값은 450˚C-3hr의 열처리 조건하에서 최고 6배(60Kg/mm2)의 강도값을 나타내었으며, 결정화후 이온교환에 따른 강도증가는 450˚C-1hr의 열처리 조건하에서 최고 10배의 강도증대효과를 보였다. 한편 과도한 이온교환 열처리조건하에서는 응력이완현상을 나타냄을 알 수 있었다.

        The objective of this study is to delineate removal efficiency of the Linear alkylbenzene sulfonates(LAS) in solution by TiO2 photocatalytic oxidation as a function of the following different experimental conditions : initial concentration of LAS, TiO2 concentration, UV wavelength and pH of the solution. It was increased with decreasing initial concentration of LAS and with decreasing pH of the solution. Removal efficiency increased with increasing TiO2 concentration but was almost the same at TiO2 concentration of 2 g/L and 3 g/L, i.e., for initial LAS concentration of 50 mg/L. It was removal efficiency was 85% at 150 min in the case of TiO2 concentration of 0.5 g/L but 100% after 150 min in the case of TiO2 concentration of 1 g/L, 100% after 110 min in the case of TiO2 concentration of 2 g/L and 3 g/L. UV wavelength affection on the removal efficiency of LAS decreased in the order of 254, 312 and 365 nm as increasing wavelength. But the removal efficiency of LAS was nearly the same at UV wavelength of 254 nm and 312 nm.
