        본 연구는 아질산나트륨 및 비타민 C의 대체로 첨가한 수벌번데기 분말이 유화형 소시지의 이화학적 품질 특성에 미치는 영향을 구명하고자 하였다. 시료는 아질산염, 비타민 C 및 수벌번데기 분말의 첨가 수준에 따라 각각 아질산나트륨 150 ppm+비타민 C 200 ppm(대조구), 아질산나트륨 75 ppm+ 비타민C 100 ppm+수벌번데기 분말 6.015%(T1) 또는 수벌번데기 분말 12.03%(T2)을 첨가하여 제조한 후 4℃에 30일 동안 저장하였다. pH는 수벌번데기 분말의 첨가 수준이 증가함에 따라 현저하게 감소하였다(p<0.05). 일반성분 함량은 수벌번데기 분말의 첨가 수준이 높은 소시지에서 낮은 수분 및 조단백질 함량과 높은 조지방 및 조회분 함량을 보였다 (p<0.05). 지방산 조성은 T1과 T2가 대조구에 비해 포화지방산 함량이 높았으나(p<0.05), 불포화지방산 및 다가불포화지 방산 함량은 낮았다(p<0.05). 색깔은 T1과 T2가 대조구보다 현저하게 낮은 명도(L*) 및 적색도(a*)와 높은 황색도(b*) 및 hue-angle(h°)을 보였으며(p<0.05), T2의 경우 가장 낮은 chroma(C*)를 나타내었다(p<0.05). 지방산화물(TBARS) 함량은 T2가 가장 높았으며(p<0.05), 특히, 대조구보다 2배 이상 높았다. 조직감은 T1과 T2가 저장기간 동안 대조구에 비해 단단한 특성을 보였다(p<0.05). 따라서 유화형 소시지에서 수벌번데기 분말의 첨가는 색깔, 지방산화안정성 및 조직감에 부정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타나, 아질산나트륨 및 비타민 C 대체 효과가 없었다

        To investigate the proper eclosion condition of Black Soldier Fly(BSF), Hermetia illucens was investigated the eclosionperiod and rate by cluster size and temperature for 3 weeks. Respectively, ten pupaes were added to the pupae(FTP)and rice husk (TTR) at 25℃, also treated only with pupae(TTR) and rice husk (TTR) at 30℃. In addition, Four hundredpupaes of each pupa were treated with only pupa (SP) and rice husk(SR) at 25℃, while was tested only pupa(TP) andrice husk(TR) at 30℃. As a result of the small group experiment, the FTR group showed the highly rate of emergencerate of 96.6%, which was more efficiently than other treatments, and also, TR group showed of highly efficiency (96.25%).Compared to the small group experiment, the algebra rate and algebra rate averaged 1.1 days faster and increased by13.3%. Two experimental results showed that eclosion rate was influenced by temperature and eclosionrate by shelter.

        Cynegetis impunctata (Linnaeus, 1767), a phytophagous lady beetle, was recorded in South Korea for the first time recently. Previously, only the adult form of this species had been described. In this study, we provide a redescription of the adult and the first descriptions of the larva and pupa. Diagnostic characters for this species are given, and intraspecific color variation in Cynegetis impunctata adults is discussed.

        The early spring swallowtail, Luehdorfia puziloi (Lepidoptera: Papilionidae) is univoltine with adult emergence in early spring and the larvae feed on the genus Asarum (Aristolochiaceae). This study was conducted to investigate temperature effect on adult emergence of overwintering L. puziloi pupae at five different constant temperatures (15, 20, 25, 27.5 and 30℃) with photoperiod 10:14(L:D) and relative humidity 60% by using 150 pupae, 2013 in Holoce Ecosystem Conservation Research Institution (HECRI). The lower developmental thresholds of female, male, and both sexes combined were 6.131, 8.64, and 8.088℃, respectively. Developmental period of overwintering pupae to adults decreased with increasing temperature from 15 to 30℃. Mortality of five different constant temperatures (15, 20, 25, 27.5, and 30℃) was 13.3, 3.3, 16.67, 13.3 and 13.3%. Especially mortality of constant temperature 25℃ was higher than other conditions and survival rate 20℃ was the highest. Thermal constants of female, male and both sexes combined were 207.11, 125.97 and 150.18DD, respectively. The relationship between the developmental rate and temperature was fitted by linear and five nonlinear developmental rate models (Logan 6, Lactin 1, 2 and Briere 1, 2). The development variation of overwintering pupae was described by the two-parameter Weibull distribution model. The adult emergence of overwintering L. puziloi pupae in spring can be explained and predicted by using developmental rate models and developmental distribution model.

        This study was conducted to evaluate the feeding value of black soldier fly pupa (BSFP) on fecal microorganism, immunoglobulinm egg quality and egg production laying hens. One hundred twenty laying hens were assigned to 4 treatments (0, 5, 7 and 10% BSFP) with 3 replicates for 8 weeks. The formulae of 4 experimental diets were modified to contain 18% CP and 2,900 kcal/kg. All the treated groups differed in feed intake, egg production, egg weight and egg mass compared to those of a control group. The egg weight and production were increased (p < 0.05) in BSFP groups compared to the control. The HDL-C was increased (p < 0.05) in BSFP groups compared to the control. The level of immunoglobulin IgG and Haugh unit were increased (p < 0.05) in BSFP groups compared to the control. These result suggested that the addition of BSFP to the layer diet could improve the egg quality and the laying performance.

        The Zena hawk moth(Langia zenzeroides) is one of the most dangerous insect pest feeding on Rosaceae fruits(Prunus persica Batsch, Prunus salicina Linnaeus) in Korea because of gregarious diet. The study was conducted to investigate biology and the temperature effect on adult emergence of overwintering L. zenzeroides pupae at five different constant temperatures (15, 20, 25, 27.5 and 30°C) with photoperiod 10:14(L:D) and relative humidity 60%. The lower developmental thresholds of L. zenzeroides were 9.7°C. Developmental period of overwintering pupae to adults decreased with increasing temperature from 15 to 30°C. Mortality of five different constant temperatures (15, 20, 25, 27.5 and 30°C) was 4, 8, 20, 8 and 48%. Especially mortality of constant temperature 30°C was higher than other conditions and survival rate of 15°C was the highest. Thermal constants of L. zeroenzides were 109.5DD. The relationship between the developmental rate and temperature was fitted by linear and one nonlinear developmental rate models (Lactin 1). The development variation of overwintering pupae was described by the two-parameter Weibull distribution model. We investigated development period in the study site by using 70 eggs. From egg to pupa period was 84.9±0.4.

        Parasitization by an endoparasitoid wasp, Cotesia plutellae, extends a larval period of Plutella xylostella and inhibits a larva-to-pupa metamorphosis. To determine antimetamorphic parasitic factor(s) in this host-parasitoid interaction, an effect of its symbiotic polydnavirus, Cotesia plutellae bracovirus (CpBV), was investigated by injecting purified virus particles to nonparasitized larvae of P. xylostella. Larvae injected with CpBV exhibited antimetamophosis in a viral dose-dependent manner. Also, the susceptibility to the viral injection was increased at young larval stages. Parasitized or virus-injected larvae shwed significant decrease in cell size of prothoracic gland and reduction in expression of ecdysone receptor (EcR) gene. However, they increased and maintained expression of insulin receptor (InR) gene. Twenty four CpBVsegments were individually injected to nonparasitized larvae. Only two segments (S22 and S27) had significant antimetamorphic effect. Subsequent RNA interference using double stranded RNA (dsRNA) was performed in each of encoded genes in each segment. Protein tyrosine phosphatase, ELP, and three hypothetical genes were determined to be antimetamorphic factors.

        The objective of this study was to determine the feeding effect of a diet containing Cordyceps with fly pupa on the changes in blood lipid profile from broiler chickens, fatty acids and thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS) in chicken meat. A total of 360 chicks (Ross strain 308) were divided on hatch day into four treated groups with respect to a 35-day feeding regimen: T1 (control group), T2 (2.0% Cordyceps with fly pupa), T3 (3.5% Corceps with fly pupa) and T3 (5.0% Cordyceps with fly pupa). Blood triacylglyceride and total cholesterol level was significantly decreased by 5.32-10.63% and 9.23-12.62%, respectively, in groups T2, T3 and T4 when compared to T1 (p<0.05). Water holding capacity was significantly highest in T2 (p<0.05), while there were no significant differences among groups T2, T3 and T. In chicken meat, the ratio of saturated fatty acid to unsaturated fatty acid was high in the T3 and T4 groups, the ratio of n-6 to n-3 fatty acid was low in the T2, T3 and T4 groups and oleic acid (18:1n-9) was high in the T2, T3 and T4 groups, when compared to T1 (p<0.05). TBARS tended to increase according to the storage time (in days), and was significantly lower in the chicken thigh muscles with skin in groups T2, T3 and T4 as compared to T1 (p<0.05). These results suggest that a diet containing 2.0-3.5% of Cordyceps with fly pupa may decrease blood lipid and improve both the shelf-life and quality of broiler chicken meat.

        본 연구는 느타리버섯 해충인 Coboldia fuscipes (Diptera: Scatopsidae)의 번데기 앞측에 있는 사슴뿔 모양 돌기의 생리적 기능을 구명하고자 수행하였다. C.fuscipes 유충 및 번데기에는 형태적으로 특이한 돌기가 관찰되는데,종령 유충의 몸 두번째 마디에 길이 0.04 mm의 미세돌기 l쌍과 번데기 앞부위에 길이 0.5 mm의 사슴뿔 모양 돌기 l쌍 및 복부에 길이 0.12mm인 6쌍의 강모형 돌기가 관찰되었다.종령 4령 유충의 미세돌기를 제거한 결과,사슴뿔 모양 돌기가 형성되지 않은 번데기가 출현하였으나, 이후 사슴뿔 모양 돌기 유무에 관계없이 정상적인 성충으로 우화하였다.또한, 슴뿔 모양 돌기 존재 여부에 따른 용화시 특성으로는 먹이로 제공된 감자한천 배지 속으로 용체의 함입률에 있어서 현격한 차이가 관찰되었는데,사슴뿔 모양 돌기가 형성되지 않은 번데기는 용체를 바깥으로 노출시키는 경향이 강하였다.그러나,사슴뿔 모양 돌기가 형성되지 않은 번데기의 용화율이나 우화율 등의 생태적 차이는 관찰할 수 없었다. 현미경 관찰 결과, 번데기의 사슴뿔 모양 돌기와 강모형 돌기는 관상의 측면 주세로기관지로 연결되어 기관계를 구성하고 있었다. 이상의 결과플로부터, C.uscipes 먼떼기의 사슴뿔 모양 돌기는 번데기 시기에 중요한 호흡뿔로 작용함을 알 수 있었다.
