        항공유는 문제가 발생 시 대형사고로 이어질 수 있기 때문에 다른 수송용 연료보다 더 엄격히 관리되고 있다. 항공유의 품질기준은 국내의 한국산업표준(KS), 미국재료협회(ASTM)와 국제운송협회(IATA)에서 각각 규정하고 있다. 2016년부터 2017년까지 국내 정유사의 5개 공장에서 생산되는 항공유에 대하여 방향족 함량, 황 함량 및 증류성상 등 6개 항목에 대하여 품질분석을 실시하였다. 국내에서 생산된 항공유는 품질기준에 적합한 것으로 나타났으며, 연간 일정하게 유지되고 있었다. 국제기준인 ASTM과 IATA의 품질기준과 비교했을 때, 방향족 함량은 국내 KS 기준이 ASTM 및 IATA 설정기준보다 1.5 wt% 엄격하게 설정되어 있으나 이 기준을 충분히 만족시키는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 황 함량, 증류성상 및 인화점 등 나머지 항목들도 국내와 국제기준을 모두 충족하는 것으로 나타났다.

        The glucomannan content of Aloe vera gel was measured by a novel method using a bentonite suspension that floc-culates upon mixing with gels prepared by hand filleting of aloe leaf. An optimum flocculation condition was deter-mined to be Aloe vera gel diluted in the range of 2 to 5-fold and then a bentonite suspension 1% (w/v) mixed withthe gel sample in the ratio of 8:2 (v/v) to provide a mixture volume of 10mL with the length to diameter ratio of5. Under the conditions of these experiments, a rapid settling (<3 min) of more than 90% of the bentonite wasachieved only when the aloe gel sample was properly diluted. The glucomannan concentrations in various dilutedsamples with the highest settling rates were identified in the range of 195.7±21.4mg/L; thus, the results indicate thatthe glucomannan content may be determined from the dilution rate of the aloe gel sample that exhibits the highestsettling rate. This study provides a simple, rapid, and cost-effective assay for the estimation of the glucomannanlevel in raw Aloe vera gel.

        The feasibility of incorporating jujube concentrate (JC) as a value-added food ingredient in convenience food prod-ucts was investigated using a model system of gelatin jelly. With an increasing level of JC added, the pH, moisturecontent, and lightness gradually decreased while the soluble solids content increased (p<0.05). Hardness and totalpolyphenol content also increased significantly with a higher amount of JC in the formulation (p<0.05). A con-sumer acceptance test indicated that the addition of JC had a favorable effect on consumer preferences in allattributes. Jelly with 20% JC is recommended (with respect to the overall preference score) for taking advantage ofthe functional properties of JC without sacrificing consumer acceptability.

        The effect of browning inhibitors on quality properties of fresh-cut strawberries was investigated. Half-cut strawberries were treated with dipping solutions alone and with combinations of 1% ascorbic acid, 1% citric acid, 1% sodium chloride, and 1% magnesium chloride, were packaged with low density polyethylene bags, and were kept for 24 hours at 4ºC. The levels of oxygen and carbon dioxide in the packages of the samples treated with the combined solutions were the highest and the lowest, respectively. The loss of L value and flesh firmness of fresh-cut strawberries was retarded by the combined solutions than by the dipping solutions alone. The soluble solids and pH were not affected by the browning inhibitor. These results suggest that mixture of ascorbic acid, citric acid, sodium chloride, magnesium chloride may prevent browning and softening of fresh-cut strawberries.

        남부지역에서 녹두 생력재배(whole crop feeding combine 수확)에 적합한 품종을 선발하고 종실품질을 규명하고자 본 연구를 수행하였다. 다현녹두는 도복과 병해에 강하고 개체당 협수가 많아 수량성이 우수하여 생력재배에 적합하였다. 국내에 많이 보급된 어울녹두와 금성녹두는 병해에 약하거나 개체 당 협수가 적어 수량이 낮았다. 종실의 전분 함량은 삼강녹두, 조단백질 함량은 장안녹두와 남평녹두 및 금성녹두, vitexin과 isovitexin 함량은 소현녹두에서 많았다. 그러나 조지방 함량은 품종 간 차이가 없었고, 불포화지방산이 51.8~57.2%, 포화지방산이 36.2~40.3% 차지하였다. 불포화지방산은 5종이 확인되었고 linoleic acid (36.1~38.6%), linolenic acid (10.3~14.7%), oleic acid (2.7~4.6%) 순으로 함량비가 높았다. 포화지방산은 7종이 확인되었고 palmitic acid (28.7~30.9%), stearic acid (2.9~4.1%), arachidic acid (1.5~3.7%) 순으로 함량비가 높았다. 종실의 amylogram 특성은 시험품종 간 큰 차이를 나타냈다. 호화개시온도는 남평 녹두에서 낮았고, 최고점도와 강화점도는 다현녹두에서 높았으며, 치반점도는 소현녹두, 남평녹두, 다현녹두에서 낮았다.

        The effect of biofertilizer in enhancing nutrient quality and antioxidant property of rice grain was investigated. The experiment was carried out in a randomized complete block design with 3 replications and 7 treatments namely : RF = N-P2O5-K2O(11-5.5-4.8kg~;10a-1); half of the recommended fertilizer rate, HRF=N-P2O5-K2O(5.5-2.75-2.4kg~;10a-1): HRF+Bio 250=HRF combined with 250 kg Biofertilizer 10 a-1 ; HRF+Bio 500=HRF combined with 500 kg Biofertilizer 10 a-1; Bio 250=250 kg Biofertilizer 10 a-1; Bio 500=500 kg Biofertilizer 10 a-1; and NF=No Fertilizer. Results showed that HRF+Bio 500 obtained a significantly higher protein content but a significantly lower amylose content compared with RF and NF treatments. Highest phytic acid content was recorded in NF treatment while the lowest was observed in HRF+500 treatment. The highest values in both electron donating ability and reducing power were obtained in HRF+Bio 500 treatment. All treatments obtained higher reducing power than that of the RF treatment and that NF treatment showed comparable values in both electron donating ability and reducing power with those of the treated plots. Highest antimutagenicity property was also observed in HRF+Bio 500 treatment followed by Bio 500 treatment. This study showed the possibility of using biofertilizer to enhance nutritional quality and antioxidant property of rice.
