        본 연구에서는 특별관리해역인 시화호 유역의 산업단지 하천에 강우 시 비점오염의 형태로 유입되는 중금속의 유출 특성 파악 및 오염원 파악을 하천 토구를 통해 배출되는 강우유출수 내 용존 및 입자성 중금속 (Cr, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, As, Cd, Pb)을 조사하였다. 용존성 Co와 Ni은 강우 초반에 고농도로 유출된 후 시간에 따라 감소하는 결과를 보였으나, 대부분의 원소는 조사시기별 강우량 및 유량 변화에 따라 각각 다른 특징을 보였다. 입자성 중금속의 경우, 시간에 따른 부유물질의 농도 변화와 유사한 경향을 보였다. 강우유출수 내 존재하는 중금속 중 Co, Ni, Zn는 용존 상태로 유출되는 비율이 높았고, Cr, Cu, Pb은 입자상 유출 비율이 상대적으로 높았다. 입자 상태로 유출되는 중금속의 인위적 오염도를 평가하기 위해 농집지수를 계산한 결과, Cu, Zn, Cd은 very highly polluted에 해당하는 심각한 오염수준으로 나타났다. 연구지역인 3간선수로 유역 인근의 도로먼지 중 125 μm 이하에서의 중금속 농도와 비교한 결과, 강우유출수 내 Cu, Zn, Cd의 중금속이 금속제조관련 시설에서 절삭 혹은 가공 중에 발생하여 산업시설 표면에 축적되어 있는 금속물질이 강우유출수와 함께 수환경으로 유출된 것을 알 수 있었다. 강우유출수 내 총중금속 평균 유출부하량은 1회 강우 시 Cr 128g, Co 12.35 g, Ni 98.5 g, Cu 607.5 g, Zn 8,429.5 g, As 6.95 g, Cd 3.7 g, Pb 251.75 g으로 금속제조와 관련된 산업시설이 주로 존재하는 유역의 특성을 잘 반영한 것으로 판단된다

        In order to investigate the runoff characteristics of nonpoint source pollutants in the Lake Doam watershed, water quality and flow rate were monitored for 38-rainfall events from 2009 to 2016. The EMC values of SS, COD, TN and TP were in the range of 33~2,169, 3.5~56.9, 0.09~7.65 and 0.06~2.21 mg L-¹, respectively. As a result of analyzing the effect of rainfall factor on the nonpoint source pollutant load, EMCs of SS, COD and TP showed a statistically significant correlation with rainfall (RA) (p<0.01) and SS showed highly significant correlation with maximum rainfall intensity (MRI, R=0.48). The load ranges of SS, COD, TN and TP were 10.4~11,984.6, 1.1~724.4, 0.6~51.6 and 0.03~22.85 ton event-¹, respectively, showing large variation depending on the characteristics of rainfall events. The effect of rainfall on the load was analyzed. SS, COD and TP showed a positive correlation, but TN did not show any significant correlation. The annual load of SS was the highest with 88,645 tons year-¹ in 2011 when rainfall was the highest with 1,669 mm. The result of impact analysis of nonpoint source pollution reduction project and land-use change on runoff load showed that pollutant load significantly reduced from 2009 to 2014 but SS and TP loads were increased from 2014 to 2016 due to increase in construction area. Therefore, we suggested that nonpoint source pollution abatement plan should be continued to reduce the soil loss and pollutants during rainfall, and countermeasures to reduce nonpoint source pollution due to construction need to be established.

        It is not cost effective to raise the density of catch basins in preparation for heavy rainfall in terms of construction and maintenance. Our researchers have developed the new catch basin for increasing interception capacity of runoff with internal filtration structure. To compare interception capacity of an existing catch basin with the invented catch basin, a hydraulic experiment device with 4% of road gradients and 0.2% of road gradients was constructed. For runoff conditions of 4.4 l/s, 6.7 l/s and 10.4 l/s, capability of runoff and separation capability of debris (sand and leaves) were evaluated. As the main experimental results, the effectiveness of the developed catch basin has been verified with an increase in interception rate of approximately 22% for the runoff of 6.7 l/s as heavy rainfall. However, the results of invented catch basin showed only 4.5% of settlement rate of debris regarding sand. Therefore, the authors proposed an improved tilted screen structure additionally. After reviewing the performance of improved catch basin, application of the invented catch basin is expected to drain runoff effectively when it is applied to the faulty road drainage section.

        The objective of this study was to quantify and characterize the inorganic nitrogen and phosphorus outflow loading from different water managements in paddy fields. We investigated the NO3-N, NH4-N, and PO4 in runoff from paddy fields in Iksan. The three different water management treatments were conventional continuous irrigation at 4 and 8 cm water levels, and intermittent irrigation at a 4 cm water level. The concentration of NO3-N at the early growth stage in surface water was 6.11 mg L-1, and then it gradually decreased. The downward curve increased slightly with additional nitrogen fertilization at the panicle initiation stage, and then it continued to decrease. The NH4-N concentration was 5.26 mg L-1, and that of PO4 was 0.70 mg L-1 at the early growth stage. However, the concentration of NO3-N peaked at 8.79 mg L-1 directly after transplantation and then decreased rapidly throughout the growing season. The amount of NH4-N runoff was 1.86 kg ha-1 in the plot with intermittent irrigation, and 2.0 kg ha-1 and 2.1 kg ha-1 in the plots with water depths of 4 and 8 cm, respectively. The NO3-N runoff was 7.43 kg ha-1 in the plot with intermittent irrigation, 8.62 kg ha-1 in the plot with a water depth of 4 cm, and 10.25 kg ha-1 in the plot with a water depth of 8 cm. In addition, the PO4 runoff was 0.42 kg ha-1 in the plot with intermittent irrigation, 0.48 and 0.55 kg ha-1 in the plots with water depths of 4 and 8 cm, respectively. The saving effect of irrigation water was 28.5% than that of conventional water management treatments, and the amount of nitrogen runoff was decreased by 18.5% with intermittent irrigation. However, the phosphorus runoff was not different between the different water management treatments in paddy fields.

        Rainfall infiltration velocity into the surface of the earth is influenced by time sequential change of the urban surface spatial structure following urban expansion, and is the key factor in determining runoff discharge. In this regard, a comprehensive assessment and understanding of surface runoff associated with land cover change, as well as the changed structure of the landscape, is required to establish landscape planning. Sustainable development, planning and maintenance of the green space inside the city, based on results of the above, are a fundamental countermeasure for relieving fragmentation of the urban green space and increasing urban flood damage, directly or indirectly. In this study, we conducted analysis of landscape structure and change of Surface Runoff Reduction Capacity (SRRC) using the land cover maps from 1975 to 2000 at the lower reaches of the Jungrang stream (LRJS). The results are expected to provide baseline data for sustainable landscape planning that is ecologically healthy and can improve SRRC during torrential rains. The results of this study are as follows. Analysis of the results showed that land cover type underwent a remarkable change in terms of the total area of farm and urban types from 1975 to 2000. The total area of farm decreased by approximately 27.05% during the 25 years, while that of urban increased by approximately 25.61%. In this regard, the results of the landscape structure assessment using FRAGSTATS showed reciprocal tendencies, which intensified fragmentation of the landscape, as measured by all 6 of the selected factors, including LPI, NP, PD, LSI, AI and PLADJ. The Runoff Curve Number (CN) value steadily increased in the results of the time series landscape change assessment of the SRRC from 1975 to 2000. Based on analysis of the changed area associated with SRRC classes, the high SRRC class 1 area showed a steady decrease in accordance with the progression of the time series land use change associated with urban development.

        본 연구는 침엽수 인공림에서 강우와 유출에 따른 계류수 용존이온의 특성 밝혀보고자, 경기도 국립수목원 소재의 침엽수 시험림에서 강우, 유량, 용존이온을 조사하였다. 2005년 6월부터 2008년 9월까지 총 23개의 강수사상별 수질시 료를 채수하여 분석한 결과 API 값이 낮을수록 유출량이 적었다. 유량변화에 따른 용존이온 특성으로는, NH4 +, K+, Ca2+ 이온은 시계 방향, Cl-, NO3 - 이온은 반시계 방향의 이력곡선을 나타냈으며, SO4 2-, Na+, Mg2+ 이온은 이력현상을 보이지 않았다. Cl-, Na+, NH4 +는 지하수의 영향으로 강수 이전 수준으로 농도가 유지되는 것으로, NO3 -는 토양수의 영향으로 강수 이전 보다 높은 농도는 나타내는 것으로 판단된다. Cl-, SO4 2-, Na+, Mg2+, Ca2+ 이온은 유출량 증가에 따라 강한 희석반응을 보였고, NO3 - 이온은 유출초기 희석 후 농도가 증가하였다. NO3 -, Ca2+ 이온은 강수 초기에 세탈효과를 나타냈다. 유출량 변화에 따른 이러한 농도변화 특성은 선행강수, 유출량, 지하수 등의 영향으로 판단된다.

        In this study, we confirmed that the pesticides flow out into streams during rainfall by the way of helicopter spraying. The maximum concentration was 23 pg·mL-1 and the distribution of concentrations showed similar to the normal distribution. The runoff characteristics of insecticides using helicopter spraying was affected by the elapsed time of the start from spraying until rainy days and rainfall intensity. The pesticide concentrations of sample ranged from 0.65 to 3.04 pg·mL-1. Fish kill did not occurred in the stream and the lake cause of the pesticides runoff. Aquatic animals, such as Orthrias toni, Rhinogobius brunneus, tadpole etc. were still alive in the stream. It indicates that this class of pesticide does not cause toxic to fish by runoff event. However, the honey bee kill event was reported in the spray region during the helicopter spraying period. The further study such as ecotoxicity test is needed to reveal the pesticides effect reach to the ecosystem.

        PURPOSES: This study aims to evaluate the runoff reduction with permeable pavements using the SWMM analysis. METHODS: In this study, simulations were carried out using two different models, simple and complex, to evaluate the runoff reduction when an impermeable pavement is replaced with a permeable pavement. In the simple model, the target area for the analysis was grouped into four areas by the land use characteristics, using the statistical database. In the complex model, simulation was performed based on the data on the sewer and road network configuration of Yongsan-Gu Bogwang-Dong in Seoul, using the ArcGIS software. A scenario was created to investigate the hydro-performance of the permeable pavement based on the return period, runoff coefficient, and the area of permeable pavement that could be laid within one hour after rainfall. RESULTS : The simple modeling analysis results showed that, when an impervious pavement is replaced with a permeable pavement, the peak discharge reduced from 16.7 m3/s to 10.4 m3/s. This represents a reduction of approximately 37.6%. The peak discharge from the whole basin showed a reduction of approximately 11.0%, and the quantity decreased from 52.9 m3/s to 47.2 m3/s. The total flowoff reduced from 43,261 m3 to 38,551 m3, i.e., by approximately 10.9%. In the complex model, performed using the ArcGIS interpretation with fewer permeable pavements applicable, the return period and the runoff coefficient increased, and the total flowoff and peak discharge also increased. When the return period was set to 20 years, and a runoff coefficient of 0.05 was applied to all the roads, the total outflow reduced by 5195.7 m3, and the ratio reduced to 11.7%. When the return period was increased from 20 years to 30 and 100 years, the total outflow reduction decreased from 11.7% to 8.0% and 5.1%, respectively. When a runoff coefficient of 0.5 was applied to all the roads under the return period of 20 years, the total outflow reduction was 10.8%; when the return period was increased to 30 and 100 years, the total outflow reduction decreased to 6.5% and 2.9%, respectively. However, unlike in the simple model, for all the cases in the complex model, the peak discharge reductions were less than 1%. CONCLUSIONS : Being one of the techniques for water circulation and runoff reduction, a high reduction for the small return period rainfall event of penetration was obtained by applying permeable pavements instead of impermeable pavement. With the SWMM analysis results, it was proved that changing to permeable pavement is one of the ways to effectively provide water circulation to various green infrastructure projects, and for stormwater management in urban watersheds.

        The changes of rainfall pattern and impervious covers have increased disaster risks in urbanized areas. Impervious covers such as roads and building roofs have been dramatically increased. So, it is falling the ability safety of flood defense equipments to exist. Runoff coefficient means ratio of runoff by whole rainfall which is able to directly contribute at surface runoff during rainfall event. The application of accurate runoff coefficients is very important in sewer pipelines design.This study has been performed to estimate runoff characteristics change which are applicable to the process of sewer pipelines design or various public facilities design. It has used the SHER model, a long-term runoff model, to analyze the impact of a rising impervious covers on runoff coefficient change. It thus analyzed the long-term runoff to analyze rainfall basins extraction. Consequently, it was found that impervious surfaces could be a important factor for urban flood control. We could suggest the application of accurate runoff coefficients in accordance to the land Impervious covers. The average increase rates of runoff coefficients increased 0.011 for 1% increase of impervious covers. By having the application of the results, we could improve plans for facilities design.

        본 연구는 도시지역 도로측구 등에 설치할 비점오염원의 정화장치 개발을 위해 여과재의 개발에 연구의 초점을 맞추었다. 필터는 다양한 미세기공을 갖고 있어 물리적 흡착능력이 뛰어나며, 결정 구조 안에 다양한 양이온이 배위되어 있어 화학적 흡착이 탁월한, 다공성 점토광물을 직경 3mm 볼 형태로 제작하였다. 성형한 필터에 도시지역 강우 직후 발생한 오염 원수를 통과시켜 SS, COD, T-P, T-N의 제거 능력을 폐수정화에 흔히 이용되는 첨착활성탄(Impregnated Activated Carbon) 필터와 비교 분석하였다. 다공성 점토광물 필터와 첨착활성탄 필터의 T-N과 T-P 여과능력은 거의 차이가 없음을 알 수 있었다.

        최근 비점오염원에 대한 관심이 높아지면서, 환경부 및 유관단체를 중심으로 노면 유출수를 포함한 비점오염원(Non point source)에 대한 현황 조사 및 처리 방법에 대한 관심이 증가하고 있다. 고속도로 휴게소 주차장 노면 유출수는 고속도로 본선 노면 유출수보다 유해물질 오염도가 높을 것으로 예상되어, 본 연구는 이 지역의 노면 유출수 오염도 조사를 통해 유출수 평가 및 노면 유출수 저감시설의 저감효과를 분석하여 휴게소 노면유출수 관리방안을 수립하는 것을 목적으로 하고 있다. 휴게소지점에 대한 강우 유출수 분석 결과 포장지역의 특성인 초기강우현상을 볼 수 있었으며, 강우초기에 입자상물질은 중금속과 결합하여 다량 유출되는 특성을 나타내었다. 휴게소 지점의 강우유출수에 대한 오염물질별 EMC에 대한 95% 확신범위로는 TSS 128.2-273.4mg/L, COD 145.4-310.1mg/L, TN 6.1-11mg/L, TP 1.9-2.9mg/L의 범위로 분석되어 고속도로에서 유출되는 강우유출수와 비슷한 수준으로 유출되는 것으로 분석되었으나, 중금속의 경우 고속도로에 비해 고농도의 중금속이 유출되는 것으로 나타났는데, 이것은 차량 정차시 브레이크 패드나 타이어의 마모등에 의한 것으로 판단된다. 휴게소지점에 대한 면적당 발생되는 부하량 통계분석결과, TSS의 평균 부하량은 1411.6mg/m2로 산정되었으며, COD 709.7mg/m2, TN 44.0mg/m2, TP 10.4mg/m2로 산정되었다. 중금속의 경우 Total Cu 12927.4μg/m2, Total Fe 32074.4μg/m2, Total Pb 40371μg/m2, Total Ni 10679.2μg/m2로 산정되었다.
