        국내 육성 스프레이 장미의 수출 상품성 향상과 농가보급 확대를 위하여 정아 제거시기(정아 직경, 3, 5,7mm) 및 묘종(접목묘와 삽목묘)에 따른 절화품질과 생산성을 조사한 결과, 적뢰시기에 따른 국내 육성 장미의본당 분화된 소화수와 수출 상품률은 ‘매직스칼렛’과 ‘옐로킹’의 경우 정아 직경이 5mm와 7mm시에 적뢰 처리구에서 우수하였으나, ‘모닝샤인’과 ‘리틀썬’은 적뢰시기간 차이가 없었다. 묘종에 따른 품종별 절화장은 ‘매직스칼렛’, ‘핑키’, ‘러블리핑크’ 및 ‘리틀썬’ 모두 삽목묘가접목묘보다 길었고, 줄기 굵기, 꽃목 길이와 굵기, 마디수 및 7매 소엽수는 접목묘가 삽목묘다 더 우수하였다.본당 소화수, 꽃잎수, 주당 발생 줄기수 및 수출 가능한상품 줄기수 역시 시험품종 모두 삽목묘보다 접목묘가 우수하였다.

        In this study, we selected some material to have potential bioactivity from natural plants, confirmed as basic data for industrializing and tried to develope the food materials using them. DPPH, ABTS, antioxidant protection factor, TBARs and antimicrobial activity of extracts from Rosa multiflora Thunberg fruits were determined. The total phenolics extracted from Rosa multiflora were 12.08, 11.82, 11.1 and 12.6 mg/g when using water, 70% ethanol, 70% methanol and 70% acetone as the solvent, respectively. The optimum conditions for extracting the phenolic compounds were 70% ethanol over for 12 hrs(11.82 mg/g). The electron donating ability and inhibition rate on ABTS of the 70% ethanol extracts were 97% and 92.2%, respectively while the antioxidant protection factor(PF) of the water extracts and 70% ethanol extracts were 1.79 and 1.34 PF, respectively. The TBAR (thiobarbituric acid reactive substance) value were 1.3 μM for the control and 0.15 μM for the 70% ethanol extracts. The inhibitory activity against α-amylase was 26% for the 70% ethanol extracts. The 70% ethanol extracts from Rosa multiflora Thunberg fruits exhibited antimicrobial activity against H. pylori, S. epidermidis, S. aureusand and E. coli with clear zone diameters of 14, 25, 14 and 13 mm, respectively when using 200 μg/mL of the phenolic compounds. An HPLC analysis identified 6 major phenolic metabolites in the Rosa multiflora Thunberg fruits extracts: rosmarinic acid, caffeic acid, chlorogenic acid, courmaric acid, protocatechuic acid and quercetin. In particular, the content of rosmarinic acid was the highest in the 70% ethanol extracts. Therefore these results indicate that 70% ethanol extracts from Rosa multiflora Thunberg fruits can be useful as a natural antioxidant and in functional foods.

        Background : This study was carried out to investigate the possibility of cosmetics materials by comparing growth characteristics, photosynthetic rate and major functional components of Rosa multiflora and Perilla frutescens at different altitudes. Methods and Results : This experiment is being carried out in April 2018 in Namwon (500 m above sea level) and Iksan (15 m above sea level) in Jeollabuk-do. The growth characteristics of R. multiflora were investigated at the end of May. Flowers were collected at this time and used as samples for functional analysis. The growth characteristics of P. frutescens were investigated in the middle of August and the ground part was collected at this time and used as a sample for functional analysis. Photosynthetic rates were measured using LCpro+ (ADC, UK). The marker compound were investigated and analyzed using HPLC Alliance e2695 and 2998 PDA detector (Waters, USA). Photosynthetic rate (based on 1,600 μ mole of light intensity) was measured in mid-June as follows. The R. multiflora showed 9.8 μ mole․CO2/㎡/s in Iksan and 7.9 μmole․CO2/㎡/s in Namwon. The P. frutescens showed 15.0 μmole․CO2/㎡/s in Iksan and 8.8 μmole․CO2/㎡/s in Namwon. Overall, Photosynthetic rate was higher in Iksan. As a result of analyzing 18 kinds of marker compound, gallic acid and astragalin were found in R. multiflora, caffeic acid and rosmarinic acid were found in P. frutescens. Gallic acid and Astragalin of R. multiflora showed 5.4 ㎎/g and 28.4 ㎎/g in Iksan and 3.2 ㎎/g and 21.6 ㎎/g in Namwon, respectively. Caffeic acid and rosmarinic acid of P. frutescens were 2.7 ㎎/g and 49.7 ㎎/g in Iksan and 2.5 ㎎/g and 33.6 ㎎/g in Namwon, respectively. Conclusion : Comparing the yield of the harvesting parts by region, both R. multiflora and P. frutescens was higher in Namwon. As a result of quantitative analysis of four detected elements of gallic acid, astragalin, caffeic acid and rosmarinic acid, all four components were high in Iksan. It is considered that this is due to optical environment difference.

        Background: The Rosa multiflora, a well-known plant belonging to Rosacea, is widely used in orthodox medicine in worldwide. However, its biological activity and cosmetic preservative efficacy have not yet been studied. Thus, this species is yet to be defined as a functional cosmetic material. Accordingly, an investigation of the above mentioned atrributes was performed on a 50% ethanol extract of Rosa multiflora. Methods and Results: The antioxidant activity was assessed through free radical scavenging assays with 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH). Additionally, the contents of total phenols and flavonoids were analyzed. The phenolic compounds were detected using HPLC. The antimicrobial activity against Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, and Candida albicans was assessed using the disc diffusion assay. The preservative effect (challenge test) on a formulation of soothing gel was performed for 28days. The DPPH radical scavenging ability, denoted by the SC50 (half maximal inhibitory concentration for DPPH radical scavenging) value was found to be 131.63 ㎍/㎖. The content of total polyphenol and flavonoid content were 202 ㎎/g and 86.77 ㎎/g, respectively. In additon, astragalin and gallic acid were identified in the extract. The antimicrobial activity of the extract against S. aureus and E. coli was observed to be 5 - 0.5%, and no significant activity was noted against C. albicans. The ethanol extracts (5% and 10%) met the preservation standards of the Cosmetics, Toiletry, and Fragrance Association (CTFA). Conclusions: Thus the ethanol extract of R. multiflora can be used in cosmetics as a natural preservative and antioxidant.

        The roots of Rosa multiflora Thunberg have been used in traditional oriental medicine as remedies for rheumatic arthralgia and scabies. In this study, the anti-fungal, anti-oxidant, and anti-inflammatory activities of a supercritical extract of Rosa multiflora root were investigated in vitro. To investigate the anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory effects of the supercritical extract, 2,2'-azino-bis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulphonic acid (ABTS) radical scavenging activity, and the inhibition of nitric oxide production in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated RAW 264.7 cells were examined, respectively. In addition, the anti-fungal activities of the extract were assessed. The results showed a concentration-dependent, increase in ABTS radical scavenging activity. The supercritical fluid extracts of Rosa multiflora root exhibited low toxicity to RAW 264.7 cells at 100 μg/mL the highest concentration tested. Cells stimulated with LPS produced more nitric oxide than normal control cells; however, cells treated with the supercritical fluid extract decreased this production in a concentration-dependent manner. Finally, the supercritical fluid extracts showed significant anti-fungal activity. These results suggest that extracts of the roots of Rosa multiflora might be used to develop potent anti-fungal, anti-oxidant, and anti-inflammatory agents, and may be useful as ingredients for related new functional cosmetic materials.

        극심하고 지속적인 자외선에의 노출은 정상적인 피부구조를 파괴하는 다양한 피부 광노화 과정을 야기한 다. 자외선은 인체 피부에서 세포외기질의 구성성분을 분해시키는 기질 분해효소인 matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs)의 발현을 활성화시키고, 콜라겐 합성은 감소시킴으로써 피부의 탄력과 구조적 치밀도를 약화시켜 궁극 적으로 피부주름을 생성한다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 피부 광노화 현상을 완화시키는 소재로서 영실의 효능을 검증하고자 하였다. 먼저 인간 섬유아세포주인 Hs68을 이용하여 영실의 세포증식 촉진효능을 확인하였다. 여기 에 더해 영실이 activator protein (AP)-1 전사인자의 억제를 통해 MMP의 발현을 감소시킴을 mRNA 및 단백 질 수준에서 검증하였다. 또한, 진피층을 구성하는 타입 Ⅰ형 콜라겐과 표피-진피 경계부를 단단히 고정시키는 역할을 하는 타입 Ⅳ형 콜라겐 역시 영실에 의해 발현이 증가하며, 자외선에 의한 염증반응의 억제에도 영실이 효과적으로 작용하는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 결론적으로 본 연구를 통해 영실이 자외선에 의한 피부노화와 주름 생성을 효과적으로 개선할 수 있는 가능성을 가짐으로써 항노화, 항염증 및 항주름 소재로서 화장품에 응용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

        찔레꽃의 총 페놀함량은 열수 추출물에서 110.1-183.0mg·L-1으로 많았다. 총 플라보노이드 함량은 메탄올, 에탄올 및 열수 추출물에서 각각 73.2, 66.1, 65.8mg·L-1 순으로 많았다. 찔레 꽃 추출물의 전자공여능에서 IC50 값은 열수 추출물에서 39.9mg·L-1로 낮아 가장 효과적이었다. 아질산염 제거효과는 열수추출물이 83.4%, 메탄올 추출물이 80.1%, 에탄올 추출물은 78.4%을 나타냈다. 이러한 결과는 찔레꽃을 꽃차 등으로 이용시 유용한 정보가 될 것으로 사료된다.

        본 연구는 찔레 에탄올 추출물의 세포 활성 및 티로시나아제활성 저해를 분석하였다. 찔레 추출물의 세포활성을 분석한 결과 찔레 잎과 뿌리 추출물의 경우에는 추출물을 처리하지 않은 대조군과 유사한 결과를 관찰하였다. 모든 농도에서 세포 활성이 나타나지 않아 티로시나아제 활성 저해 효과를 분석한 결과 찔레 잎과 뿌리추출물은 상대적으로 고농도(200 μg/ml)에서 약 30~32% 정도를 저해하는 효과를 나타냈다. 또한 B16 세포에서 티로시나아제활성 저해 효과를 분석한 결과 상대적으로 고농도(200 μg/ml)에서 양성대조군인 알부틴보다 20~25% 정도 낮은 저해 효과를 나타냈다. 멜라닌 함량 저해 효과를 분석한 결과 찔레 잎과 뿌리 추출물의 경우 티로시나아제의 저해 효과와 유사하게 농도 의존적인 저해효과를 나타내는 것을 관찰하였다. RT-PCR 방법으로 분석한 결과, 추출물 처리군들은 정상대조군과 비교하여 티로시나아제 mRNA 수준이 유의적으로 차이가 나지 않았으며, 또한 농도 의존적인 변화도 없었다.
