        in vitro studies on salt torerance was carried out with Salix gracilistyla. Shoot growth of plants treated with NaCl showed statistically significances among different levels of concentration(0~200 mM) on 1/2MS medium. Plant growth was not grown at in higher concentration than 75 mM and plants were dead over 150 mM Nacl Browned leaf was observed from 14 days at higher concentration than then 75 mM NaCl, and chlorophyll content was dramatically decreased. Main roots and rootlet in same concentrates(75 mM) or high NaCl treatment were changed the color to black. The proline and sugar contents were dramatically increased in the higher than 75 mM NaCl treatments after 14 - 15 days. To determine NaCl and minerals in salt stressed plants, leaf, stem and root of in vitro plant were subjected to ICP analysis. Na content was increased with culture days in all three parts. These results suggest that S. gracilistyla can be used vegetative restoration in coastal wetlands reclaimed.

        This study was determined optimal condition as culture medium, pH, carbohydrate source and growth regulators through axillary buds cultures of Salix gracilistyla. S. gracilistyla shoots were obtained from axillary bud on 1/2MS basal medium after 2 weeks of culture. Highest shoot growth was showed in the MS medium(GI= 2.43). Shoot growth was highest in 9% sucrose compared to other concentration. BAP affects axillary shoot multiplication in of S. gracilistyla. Among nutrients, Ca2+ was not affected shoot number of S. gracilistyla. However, NH4+, NO3 -, and K+ is greatly influenced shoot number. However, Ca2+ was affected in shoot length of S. gracilistyla. Feeding of Mg2+ was not affected in shoot length. Root number is greatly influenced by NH4 +, NO3 -, and K+, however NH4 + and K+ was not affected root number of S. gracilistyla. NH4 + was affected root length, however Mg4 + was not affected root length. Treatment of 0.1mg/L IBA promoted in vitro rooting. In vitro rooted plantlets were successfully transferred to pots for 4weeks hardening process. Later, these plants were transferred to soil with above 90% survival rate in BS+SD(2:1). These results could be easily adopted for commercial large scale cultivation.

        As the short rotation coppices(SRC), Salix spp., poplar and yellow poplar, they demonstratefast growth and asexual propagation ability. Despite the rapid growth characteristics, for use astree biomass materials, calorific value has not been extensively studied. In this study, itinvestigated the calorific values belonging to Salix spp., poplar and yellow poplar with particularemphasis on S. gracilistyla., S. gracilistyla and S. caprea showed greater calorific values thanthose measured with other species(4,546.6 cal g-1 and 4,539.6 cal g-1 respectively). Calorificvalues were demonstrated to the higher content of xylem tissue. S. gracilistyla from Wonju,YW1-1 and WJ2-9 showed the higher calorific values than other groups and clones. The presentresults demonstrate higher calorific value and low ash content, and these will be selectedasappropriate species and clones for biomass production purpose.

        경기도 양평군 수입천에서 대형 군락을 형성하여 자생하는 갯버들의 영양염류의 농도와 수리학적체류시간에 따른 질소.인 흡수 실험 결과로서 NH4-N, NO3-N, PO4-P제거효율은 저농도에서 체류 시간이 길 때 높은 경향을 보였고, 제거능은 고농도와 짧은 체류시간에서 높은 경향으로 나타났다. 유입농도와 체류시간에 따른 지상부 1g당 제거능 추정식을 구하였다. 수입천 갯버들의 현존량은 4,880.81g/m2로 추정되었고, 현존량과 제거

        본 연구는 갯버들 추출물의 항산화 활성 및 미백활성을 평가하기 위해 수행하였다. 갯버들 줄기의 용매별 추출물의 총 폴리페놀 함량은 142.60-151.95 mg GAE/g, 총 플라보노이드 함량은 83.43-2.60 mg CE/g으 로 확인되었다. 갯버들 줄기의 용매별 추출물의 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) 라디칼 소거활성을 평가한 결과 30% 메탄올 추출물이 가장 높은 항산화 활성(IC50; 19.68 μ g/mL)을 나타내었다. Tyrosinase 억제활성은 4종류의 용매 추출물 모두 유사하게 평가되었으며, 30% 에탄올 추출물 200 μ g/mL 농도가 가장 높은 억제활성(35.18%)을 나타내었다. 갯버들 추출물 중 메탄올 추출물은 B16F10 세포주의 생존율에 영향을 미치지 않은 농도에서 유의적으로 멜라닌 생합성을 저해하는 것으로 확인되었다. 결과적으로 갯버들 추출물은 항산화 및 미백활성을 가지는 효과적인 화장품 성분으로 사용 가능할 것으로 사료된다.
