This study was investigated the vascular plants of Hangjeukbong to Jungbong in Mt. Deoguysan National Park, from March to September, 2014. Vascular plants in this area were summarized as 187 taxa, including 52 families, 126 genera, 168 species, 2 subspecies and 17 varieties. Among the recorded taxa, Korean endemic plants were 11 species and the rare and endangered plants designated by Korea Forest Service were 14 taxa comprising 1 endangered species(EN), 5 taxa of vulnerable(VU), 7 taxa of least concern and 1 data deficient(DD). The floristic regional indicator plants were 60 taxa including 1 species in grade Ⅴ, 3 taxa in grade Ⅳ, 12 taxa in grade Ⅲ. The life form spectra was G-R5-D4-e type. It is considered what the ratio of chamaephytes(1.6%) and phanerophytes(35.8%) is lower than that of geophytes(27.3%) and hemicryptophytes(26.7%) is needed to adopt low ambient temperature condition in subalpine. Threatened plants for climate change were 8 taxa including 7 taxa of northern plants such as Taxus cuspidata, Abies koreana, Picea jezoensis, Aruncus dioicus var. kamtschaticus, Sorbus commixta, Acer ukurunduense and Smilacina bicolor. It was considered that vulnerable to microclimate subalpine plants require long-term conservation of management and measure according to monitoring.

종석대 아고산초원의 생태계 변화관찰의 자료로 활용하고자, 종석대를 중심으로 분포하는 아고산지대의 초원과 관목층을 대상으로 40개의 방형구(5m×5m)를 설치하여 식생을 조사하였다. 종석대의 관목지대에는 미역줄나무의 상대우점치 (I.P.)가 23.45%로 가장 높았으며, 다음으로 조록싸리. 노린재나무, 털조록싸리 등의 순이었다. 종석대 고산초원의 초본식물은 큰까치수영. 고사리. 수리취, 여로, 원추리 및 노루오줌 등 6종이 우점종이었다. 산림청에서 희귀식물로 등록된 흰참꽃나무가 종석대 정상 바위틈에서 여러 개체가 자라고 있었으며, 지속적인 모니터링을 함으로써 훼손대책을 강구할 필요가 있다.
