        2012년부터 강화된 총인의 농도를 준수하기 위해서는 응집에 의한 물리화학적 처리가 필수적인 후단공정이 되었으며, 현재 국내 하수처리시설 중 약 60%의 처리시설에서 총인처리시설이 설치되었다. 하지만 총인처리시설 운전에 따른 응집제 사용량이 증가하게 되었고, 이에 따라 약품 비용 및 슬러지 처리비 증가 등의 운영비가 상승하였다. 특히 분리막 공법(MBR)의 경우 막 투과수의 응집액 부족으로 인한 응집효율 저하 및 응집제의 과다 주입으로 인한 처리수질 악화 등의 문제가 발생하는 경우도 있다. 본 연구에서는 MBR 공법내에서 별도의 총인처리시설 필요 없이 생물학적 인제거를 극대화 하는 동시에 응집제 사용량을 최소화하면서 처리수의 인농도를 0.2 mg/L 이하로 유지할 수 있는 방안을 도출하고자 하였다.

        This study has implemented an experiment in which hydrogen sulfide was removed by establishing a two-stage packed tower effector filled with nutritious medium and also filling a tower that was immobilized in ceramic media after isolating and identifying the sulfur oxidizing bacteria from a sewage treatment plant. As a result, strains isolated from the sewage treatment plant were found to be similar, including Bacillus fusiformis, Bacillus anthracis sp., Paenibacillus sp., Serratia marcescens sp., Bacillus thuringiensis. The effector that immobilized isolated strains in the ceramic media achieved an approximately 90% removal rate of hydrogen sulfide, while the sterilized ceramic media not immobilized with isolated strains showed a removal rate of about 65%. In addition, the removal rate of hydrogen sulfide in the primary media packing effector immobilized with sulfur oxidizing bacteria was about 92%, while the secondary effector filled with medium had a hydrogen sulfide removal rate near 100%. In addition, 90% efficiency of removal was shown in conditions of EBCT 60s in the experiment that investigated removal rate of hydrogen sulfide according to residence-time, while the efficiency was rapidly reduced up to 45% in conditions of EBCT 30s. On the other hand, when operating for an extended period time while increasing the concentration of injected hydrogen sulfide, the amount of sulfate was increased from 2 mg/L to 12.7 mg/L, and pH was rapidly reduced to 2.7.

        본 연구는 SDI (Silt Density Index)를 통해 RO막 전처리 장치로서의 섬유여과기 적용 가능성을 평가한 것이다. 실험 대상 원수는 탁도가 0.76∼1.6 NTU인 하수처리장 방류수와 탁도가 2.2∼3.3 NTU인 해수 및 탁도가 100 NTU인 지표수이었다. 2단 섬유여과기 공정의 최종여과수인 2차 여과수의 탁도는 17% PAC 10∼30 ppm주입 시 0.07∼0.25 NTU였으며 SDI는 1.4∼2.8이었다. 하수처리장 방류수에 대해 2단 섬유여과기 pilot 여과수와 실험실 규모의 MF, UF평막 여과수의 탁도 및 SDI15를 측정하여 비교한 결과, 여과수 수질은 2단 섬유여과기 > MF > UF순으로 약간 향상하였으며, SDI15 차이는 0.7∼1.0 수준으로 크지 않았다. 따라서 2단 섬유여과 공정을 RO막 전처리 공정으로 사용할 경우 통상의 RO막 제조사가 요구하는 SDI15 5 이하를 충분히 만족시킬 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

        This study aimed for evaluating the applicability of the two stage dual media filtration system in field water treatment plant. The field plant of two stage and dual media filtration system was operated for 2 months. Average iron concentrations of the settled water, existing filtered water and second stage filtered water was 0.041 mg/L, 0.007 mg/L and 0.005 mg/L, respectively. Removal efficiency of iron concentration in the second stage is appropriately 35% more than in existing filtered water. Also removal efficiency of residual chlorine in the dual media filtration system is relatively 42.3% more than in existing filtered water due to adsorption of activated carbon, but the removal of ammonia nitrogen by adsorption is insufficient. Average concentrations of THM and chloroform in the settled water are 0.033 mg/L, 0.026 mg/L, respectively and in existing filtered water are 0.023 mg/L and 0.023 mg/L. Average concentrations of THM and chloroform in the dual media filtration system are 0.008 mg/L and 0.013 mg/L. Therefore removal efficiency of THM concentration in second stage is more than 66.4% in existing filtrated water. Also removal efficiency of chloroform in the dual media filtration system is more than 50.0% in existing filtered water because of the adsorption of activated carbon. In this case backwashing period in dual stage system is 4~5 days, but in existing filtration system is 1~2 days.
