        This study aimed to develop an optimal greenhouse model for strawberry seedling during the summer high-temperature period based on the results of field surveys. We conducted a survey on the structure types of 46 strawberry seedling farms nationwide, including width, ridge height, eaves height, ventilation method, seedling bed width, and spacing. Based on the survey results, we derived the optimal greenhouse model by considering various factors. The greenhouse width was set at 14 meters to maximize the efficiency of seedling beds and overall space. The height was determined at 2 meters, taking into account ventilation during the summer season. To reduce stress on the supporting structure due to snow loads, we established a reinforcement installation angle of 50 degrees. We analyzed two different models that use support beams with dimensions of φ48.1×2.1t and φ59.9×3.2t, respectively, to ensure structural safety against meteorological disasters, considering regional design wind speeds and snow accumulation. We utilized these developed greenhouse model to conduct strawberry seedling experiments, resulting in a high survival rate of average 93.2%. These findings confirm the usefulness of the strawberry seedling greenhouse in improving the seedling environment and enhancing overall efficiency.

        This study was aimed to determine the changes in CO2 concentration according to the temperatures of daytime and nighttime in the CO2 supplemental greenhouse, and to compare calculated supplementary CO2 concentration during winter and spring cultivation seasons. CO2 concentrations in experimental greenhouses were analyzed by selecting representative days with different average temperatures due to differences in integrated solar radiation at the growth stage of leaf area index (LAI) 2.0 during the winter season of 2022 and 2023 years. The CO2 concentration was 459, 299, 275, and 239 μmol·mol-1, respectively at 1, 2, 3, and 4 p.m. after the CO2 supplementary time (10:00-13:00) under the higher temperature (HT, > 18°C daytime temp. avg. 31.7, 26.8, 23.8, and 22.4°C, respectively), while it was 500, 368, 366, 364 μmol·mol-1, respectively under the lower temperature (LT, < 18°C daytime temp. avg. 22.0, 18.9, 15.0, and 13.7°C, respectively), indicating the CO2 reduction was significantly higher in the HT than that of LT. During the nighttime, the concentration of CO2 gradually increased from 6 p.m. (346 μmol·mol-1) to 3 a.m. (454 μmol·mol-1) in the HT with a rate of 11 μmol·mol-1 per hour (240 tomatoes, leaf area 330m2), while the increase was very lesser under the LT. During the spring season, the CO2 concentration measured just before the start of CO2 fertilization (7:30 a.m.) in the CO2 enrichment greenhouse was 3-4 times higher in the HT (>15°C nighttime temperature avg.) than that of LT (< 15°C nighttime temperature avg.), and the calculated amount of CO2 fertilization on the day was also lower in HT. All the integrated results indicate that CO2 concentrations during the nighttime varies depending on the temperature, and the increased CO2 is a major source of CO2 for photosynthesis after sunrise, and it is necessary to develop a model formula for CO2 supplement considering the nighttime CO2 concentration.

        This study examines the characteristics of berries from secondary bearing shoots of ‘Scintilla’ southern highbush blueberry, grown hydroponically in the Jinju, Gimhae, and Uiryeong regions of Gyeongnam Province. Typically, ‘Scintilla’ forms flower buds at the tips of regular bearing shoots during the previous season, yielding berries in the current season. However, under heated cultivation, we observed a proliferation of secondary bearing shoots that produce berries in the same growing season. Flowering and harvesting on secondary bearing shoots were delayed by 52 and 36 days, respectively, compared to regular bearing shoots. However, these shoots exhibited a 54% increase in diameter and a 10% increase in length. We found no significant difference in berry size and soluble solid content between the two types of shoots. Notably, berries from the secondary bearing shoots had higher potassium and lower calcium and magnesium concentrations. We conclude that berries from secondary bearing shoots could be marketable, provided the bushes are healthy. These findings provide valuable insights for optimizing cultural practices to improve the yield and quality of blueberries under specific environmental conditions.

        2022년 10월부터 2023년 5월까지 친환경 딸기재배 농가에서 점박이응애는 칠레이리애응애와 사막이리응애, 진딧물은 콜레마니진디벌을 대상으로 하는 천적처리구와 유기농자재를 사용하는 관행방제구에서 천적의 해 충 밀도억제 효과를 조사하였다. 천적처리구에서 점박이응애 성충 밀도는 잎당 1.5마리 이하, 알은 4개 이하로 관리되었고, 사막이리응애는 잎당 최대 0.4마리까지 증가하여 점박이응애 밀도억제에 많은 영향을 미친것으로 보인다. 반면, 관행방제구에서 점박이응애 밀도는 천적 방사구에 비하여 오히려 많은 발생량을 보였지만, 3월 9일부터는 사막이리응애의 증가와 유기농자재의 효과로 점박이응애 밀도는 급격하게 감소하였다. 진딧물 천적 처리구에서 진딧물 밀도는 1월부터 발생하였으며 3월 상순에 잎당 0.3마리까지 증가하였으나 이후 감소하였고, 콜레마니진디벌은 진딧물 발생이 많지 않아 3.9마리/㎡(2회) 방사하는 데 그쳤다. 한편, 관행방제구 포장의 진딧 물은 유기농자재의 영향으로 거의 발생하지 않았다.

        This study aimed to develop a new eco-friendly control method of B. tabaci using a trap plant treated with systemic insecticide. Due to high preference, tobacco plant was selected as a trap plant among solanaceous plants. Out of all 6 systemic insecticides, dinotefuran WG showed the highest mortality (> 97.3 %) against B. tabaci. The concentrations of dinotefuran in tobacco leaves after systemic treatment showed the sharp increase in the pesticide from 2 hrs until 48 hrs (2 d) and steady increase over 35 d. The mortality of B. tabaci in tobacco leaves was about 80% at 9 hrs after treatment and over 90% at 1, 2, 3, 6, 9, and 35 d after treatment. The number of B. tabaci was counted every week after dinotefuran-treated tobacco pots were placed in the tomato greenhouse cultivation. The density of the insects with 3 tobacco plants was app. 75% lower than the control (w/o tobacco plant).

        The cucumber flower does’t seem to be supplying enough nectar and pollen to the natural enemies. Among the natural enemies that can be used in the cucumber greenhouse, especially Orius laevigatus may require flower nectar and pollen for settlement and reproduction. In our previous study, we selected basil as a natural enemy banker plant. Using this, the effect of thrips control in cucumber greenhouse was examined. The major pests of cucumber in 2023 were Aphis gossypii, Frankliniella occidentalis, Thrips palmi and Trialeurodes vaporariorum. A. gossypii occurred most frequently, and the next occurred pests were F. occidentalis and T. palmi. The densities of O. laevigatus remained stable on basil banker plants. After releasing O. laevigatus and adding the basil banker plants, the densities of T. palmi were kept low at less than 3 per leaf, and the densities of F. occidentalis were kept low at less than 10 per 3 flowers but increased slightly since late May. As a result, the density of thrips during cucumber cultivation was effectively suppressed after the use of natural enemies.

        For effective control of Frankliniella occidentalis, one of polyphagous pests with resistance to insecticides, necessitates the implementation of an integrated pest management strategy. Therefore, estimation of pest density is essential and this is achieved through the application of spatial statistical analysis methods. Because traditional methods often overlook the correlation between sampling locations and data, geostatistical analysis using variogram and kriging is introduced. Variogram provides information on the independent distance between data points. Kriging is a spatial interpolation technique for estimating the values at unsampled locations. For assessing model fitness, cross-validation is used by comparing predicted values with actual observations. This study focuses on the application of geostatistical techniques to estimate F. occidentalis density in hot pepper greenhouse, thereby contributing to making decision.

        Since the importance of integrated pest management to minimize environmental damage and maximize pest control effectiveness has emerged, efforts to put it into practice have continued. To implement IPM, it is necessary to estimate the economic injury level to determine the control method by identifying pests and weeds that damage the quantity and quality of crops in the field, investigating the occurrence level, and calculating the ratio of cost and effectiveness. Also, damage to host plants caused by increased density of insect pests appears to change plant’s health that key factor for managing crops. Therefore, understanding the relationship between the density of pests and the damage to the host plants is necessary. This study aims to analyze the causal relationship between the density of insect pests and damage to the host plants for estimating the economic injury level of insect pests on the host plants and investigating the possibility of pest control decision-making using plant health status.

        Tetranychus kanzawai Kishida (Acari: Tetranychidae) is a major pest on strawberry, reducing both the quality and quantity of fruit production. We compared the virulence of an entomopathogenic fungus Beauveria bassiana (Balsamo) Vuillemin ARP14 with a commercial GHA strain against T. kanzawai. In the laboratory, leaf dipping method was conducted while a one-time spray was carried out on selected planting units in strawberry greenhouse with each fungus strain and Triton X-100 as control. Adult T. kanzawai showed lower LT50 when treated with ARP14 strain compared to GHA in the laboratory. The densities of both adult and nymph mites in the greenhouse were significantly reduced in the treatment of two fungus strains compared to the control. The mycosis rate of T. kanzawai in greenhouse was 97.9% at 14 days when treated with ARP14 strain while it was 85.5% when treated with GHA strain. The results suggest that B. bassiana ARP14 can be an effective mycoinsecticide against T. kanzawai.

        본 연구에서는 장미 시설재배 중에 나타나는 꽃목굽음현상(BPP, bent peduncle phenomenon)의 발생 양상을 이해 하고 증상 완화 방법을 알아보고자 하였다. 실험 계획은 BPP 를 인위적으로 유도하는 고온 처리와 BPP 증상을 완화하기 위한 비정상적인 꽃받침 제거 두 가지로 설계되었다. ‘Beast’ 대상 BPP 유도실험에서 화아분화 초기 BBS2단계(bud break stage 2, 신초길이 2±0.5cm)에 30℃ 이상 고온에서 쉽게 BPP가 유도되어 고온과 BPP의 연관성을 나타냈다. 또한 6품 종(‘Propose’, ‘Beast’, ‘Revue’, ‘Ocean Song’, ‘Iguana’) 을 대상으로 엽상화 꽃받침조각을 제거한 결과 BPP 완화에 미치는 효과는 품종 특이적이었으며, 품종에 따라 상이한 결 과를 보였다. 꽃받침조각 제거 처리로 BPP가 ‘Legato’와 ‘Revue’에서 유의하게 개선되었고, ‘Beast’와 ‘Iguana’에서 는 오히려 악화되었으며, ‘Propose’와 ‘Ocean Song’에서는 증상이 정지하여 효과적이었다.

        하절기의 높은 일사량은 작물의 과도한 호흡을 유발하여 광 합성을 감소시킨다. 또한 주로 하절기에 발생하는 장마는 온실 내부에 저일조 환경을 유발한다. 저일조 환경은 작물의 생 육과 생산량을 감소시키는 원인이 될 수 있다. 본 연구는 하절 기 차광과 보광이 오이의 생육과 생산량에 미치는 영향에 대 해서 조사하기 위해 수행되었다. 오이 접목묘는 2022년 8월 30일에 플라스틱 온실 2동에 정식하였다. 온실 내부의 광량을 감소시키기 위해 온실 1동에 차광 스크린을 설치하였다. 보광 처리는 2022년 9월 7일부터 2022년 10월 20일까지 수행되 었다. 고압나트륨등(high-pressure sodium lamp), 백색 LED (white LED, red:green:blue = 5:3:2), RB LED(combined red and blue LED, red:blue = 7:3)를 보광 광원으로 사용하였 고, 무처리를 대조구로 설정하였다. 보광 처리는 일출 전과 일 몰 후 2시간씩 수행하였고, 보광 광도는 150±20 μmol·m-2·s-1 로 설정하였다. 식물 초장, 엽장, 엽폭, SPAD는 차광 처리에 의해 증가하는 경향을 보였다. RB LED에서는 차광 처리와 관계없이 경경이 유의성 있게 증가되었다. 과실의 생체중과 건물중은 차광과 보광 처리에서 유의미한 차이가 없었다. 과실의 평균 과중은 수확일이 지날수록 보광처리 간의 유의한 차이는 없었다. 결론적으로, 본 연구에서 하절기 오이 재배 시 50% 수준의 차광 처리는 오이의 생육을 유의하게 향상시켰 다. 또한, 보광 대조구에서 생육과 과실 특성이 좋았다. 본 연 구는 오이 재배 시 보광 기술을 적용하기 위한 기초 연구 자료 로 활용될 수 있다.

        수소는 다양한 신재생에너지 중 환경친화적인 에너지로 각광받고 있지만 농업에 적용된 사례는 드물다. 본 연구는 수소 연료전지 삼중 열병합 시스템을 온실에 적용하여 에너지를 절 약하고 온실가스를 줄이고자 한다. 이 시스템은 배출된 열을 회수하면서 수소로부터 난방, 냉각 및 전기를 생산할 수 있다. 수소 연료 전지 삼중 열 병합 시스템을 온실에 적용하기 위해 서는 온실의 냉난방 부하 분석이 필요하다. 이를 위해서는 온 실의 형태, 냉난방 시스템, 작물 등을 고려해야 한다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 건물 에너지 시뮬레이션(BES)을 활용하여 냉 난방 부하를 추정하고자 한다. 전주지역의 토마토를 재배하 는 반밀폐형 온실을 대상으로 2012년부터 2021년까지의 기 상데이터를 수집하여 분석했다. 온실 설계도를 참고하여 피 복재와 골조를 모델화하여 작물 에너지와 토양 에너지 교환을 실시했다. 건물 에너지 시뮬레이션의 유효성을 검증하기 위 해 작물의 유무에 의한 분석, 정적 에너지 및 동적 에너지 분석 을 실시했다. 또한 월별 최대 냉난방 부하 분석에 의해 평균 최 대 난방 용량 449,578kJ·h-1, 냉방 용량 431,187kJ·h-1이 산정 되었다.
