Industrial disaster caused the deaths of 2,114, construction workers among them was the highest of 621 deaths. In the construction industry, has established a number of safety alternatives to prevent accidents. But until now, the cause of the accident has stopped being superficial analysis, awareness on the root cause of the acciden did not reflect. In this study, we analyze the characteristics and causes in G contractors' safety accidents. And innovation strategy, organization-wide safety management system and detailed tasks to derive essentially was to prevent the occurrence of large construction companies. A lot of business for accident prevention effect was transient and formal, to reflect a management style and organizational culture, and try to prevent construction accidents. we will strive to prevent the disaster from the construction site through the improvement of these.

Korea Railroad Research Institute(KRRI) has developed the rubber-tired AGT system from 1999 to 2004. The rubber-tired AGT vehicle is now on test for its performance and function in the Gyeong-San test line. In this paper, we provide the reliability management plan to assure required the RAMS(reliability, availability, maintainability 8t safety) of the AGT vehicle system.

Domestic construction industry (including plant engineering industry) faces severe competition with world-wide leading companies under WTO (World Trade Organization) system. To survive in this competition, domestic construction company should establish and operate standardization system efficiently. In this paper, check list is presented to prepare the efficient reliability management system in domestic construction. And then, the check list is applied in MIR(Maturity Index on Reliability) estimation item to estimate reliability management level of company quantitatively.

IEC 60300 series, the international standards on reliability management system are newly developed and introduced rapidly worldwide. In order to meet this fast-changing situation, it is necessary to apply them to the Korean industries effectively. It includes the establishment of the infrastructure such as documentation of Korean Standards, introduction of test equipments and test manuals, accreditation of the certification body and training of the specialists etc. IEC 60300 is upgraded management system of the ISO 9000 and ISO 14000. In this regard, the Korean companies which was certified with the ISO 9000 or 14000 should endeavor to find new strategies and methods to be certified with ISO 60300. This paper introduces a quantitative method of estimating the level of the reliability management system by applying the MIR(Maturity Index on Reliability) technique. This enables the estimation of the operation level of the system and can upgrade the maturity level of it.
