        Purpose – Retail companies are turning from one type of retailer to multiple business categories through various reasons, such as taking advantage of existed types of retailers’ channel distribution, information and know-how, and entering into new types of retailers. However, there is few research conducted about multiple type of retailers. Research design, data, and methodology – In this research, the references, data and new stores on E-mart will be collected. The dissertation, annual report, statistical data, land-book of E-mart will be also collected to confirm whether E-mart has made any acquisition towards another company. Results – There is a tendency to new stores expansion, store enlargement and prolonging the opening preparation of new stores, based on the core of new stores expansion of E-mart as a general supermarket type of retailers. Based on general supermarket type of retailers, E-mart begins to diversify its retail company’s type of retailers. Conclusions – As a general supermarket which is the most important type of retailers, E-mart is expanding into SSM type of retailers to seek new power of growth while slowdown growth is shown in general supermarket type of retailers. The expansion into SSM type of retailers would be a wise option as a retail company, E-mart is able to keep growing in the future.

        Purpose This study investigated – the demographic characteristics of retirees who sought not to be reemployed or join an organization but, instead, to be self-employed. This study verified self-employment by regional and/or educational features to determine the self-employment factors and the policies required. Research design, data, and methodology – Models and hypotheses were used to verify the conversion into self-employment depending on retirees’ demographic characteristics. This study investigated regions according to precedent studies and used SPSS 18.0 as follows. First, frequency was used to investigate the general characteristics. Second, a factor correlation analysis was done. Results – Hypothesis 1, which stated that, "retirees with low educational background often start a self-employed business," was significant. Hypothesis 2, which stated that, "retirees in metropolitan areas frequently start a self-employed business," was significant. Hypothesis 3, which stated that, "retirees in a megalopolis frequently start a self-employed business," was significant. Conclusions – A preliminary startup education was needed to lessen the losses. Retirees should have preliminary knowledge of actual self-employment conditions to be given a startup education.

        The paper examines the antecedents of acceptance of social networking sites in retail franchise and restaurant businesses. The success of retail franchise and restaurant business operators via social networking sites depends not only on organizational benefits but also on their behavioral intentions of using it. Three hundred and twenty four samples collected from South Korean retail franchise and restaurant employees are analyzed using factor analysis, structural equation model techniques and one-way analysis of variance. The results of the study identify the three constructs of organizational benefits, perceived tangible assets and perceived intangible assets as for important antecedents to accept social networking sites for their business use. Moreover, higher position employees tend to have more favorable perception of tangible assets and acceptance of social networking sites for their business use.

        management on corporate image and purchase intention. Research design, data, and methodology - The study employs monthly time series data from October 2013 to November 2013, analyzing variables to verify hypotheses. These concern three questions on marketing communication, five on public interest business activities, four on donation & sponsorship, two on donation & sponsorship activities, six on corporate image, four on volunteer service, and five on demographic characteristics. Results - Hypothesis 1, "Ethical management in marketing communication, public interest business, donation & sponsorship, and volunteer service positively affects corporate image," was partially adopted with significant regression of marketing communication, public interest business activity, and donation & sponsorship. Hypothesis 2, "Ethical management such as marketing communication, public interest business, donation & sponsorship, and volunteer service positively affects purchase intention," was partially adopted with significant regression of marketing communication and public interest business. Hypothesis 3, "Corporate image positively affects purchase intention," was adopted at significant regression. Conclusions - Ethical management influenced purchase intention and corporate image.

        ˜e onset, retreat, and precipitation of the Korean summer rainy season (Changma) signiÿcantly a˛ect human health and daily lives as well as domestic industry and economy. To increase revenue during Changma period, retail industry has tried to develop various weather marketing strategies on a regional basis. This study investigated the impact of Changma on the retail sales in Jeju. During Changma in Jeju in 2014, the temperature has dropped by 2.3°C, from 26.2°C to 23.9°C while the precipitation has significantly increased from 115.3mm to 441.5mm compared to last year. Due to these weather characteristics of Changma, large retailers in Seogwipo city have seen a high increase in sales of umbrellas, raincoats, and rain boots by 250-400 percent, but a decrease in sales of air conditioners by 15 percent. This results from more frequent rainfall and cool weather compared to the previous year. However, opposite results were found regarding traditional markets in Jeju. Depending on industrial structures in each region, the identical weather phenomenon have different impacts on the number of visitors to the markets. In other words, the impact of Changma on local retail sales is in˝uenced by multiple local factors including demographic composition and industrial structure in the regional economy.

        Opening agricultural market expansion, reduced purchases through wholesale markets, expanding the influence large retailers of consumer's market such as changes in the distribution system to the farmer's market conditions are changing rapidly.         This study aimed to predict retail sales of local markets in Jinan city of China with the Huff model. Using the Huff Model, we examined whether the predicted retail sales of local markets may be different in Jinan, China, from the department stores, supermarkets, shopping centers/shopping malls, and home appliance stores. The probability that a customer shops at location depends upon the store size and the travel time factors calculated by the Huff Model. We found that the predictedretail sales of shopping malls have a greater value than others. People who live in a mid-sized city may have easier access to any stores within the city boundary than people in metropolitan areas. Therefore, people in a mid-sized city are more sensitive to store size, because a bigger store size means greater opportunities, incentivizing consumers to travel further to competing stores after passing by nearer, smaller stores. This study has some limitations. First, the data is somewhat restricted in that the subject stores do not represent all of the stores in Jinan. Second, we cannot compare the estimated market share of the stores and the actual sales data. It is further suggested in this study that more databases be developed throughout such East Asian countries as Korea and Japan and that a different parameter λ value in the Huff Model be utilized for mid-sized cities.

        In this paper, we codify the objective function that should be optimized by using Genetic Algorithm instead of Heuristic method to solve these problems. So, each bit that constitutes one structure can signify each commodity. Therefore, we can exchange customers without restriction if the traveling distance diminishes among the districts. Furthermore, even though the capacity of a customer's commodities exceeds that of a vehicle, the following vehicle can be allocated. Also, we obtained good result by testing with real data. To be brief, we can effectively allocate innumerable commodities, that have various magnitudes and weight, into restricted capacity of the vehicle by applying genetic algorithm that is useful in solving the problems of optimization.
