        The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between conception rate and other parameters (body condition score; BCS, progesterone concentrations and follicle size) before estrus induction with CIDR(intravaginal progesterone-releasing controlled internal drug release). The conception rate in cows with < 2.75, 2.75 to 3.25, and 3.25 <, BCS regardless of AI (artificial insemination) time was 46.6%, 63.3%, and 46.6% at CIDR insertion, respectively. The conception rate regardless of BCS was 54.9% in cows inseminated based on detected estrus, and 48.7% in cows inseminated at 72 to 80 hours (timed artificial insemination, TAI) after removal of CIDR. The conception rate regardless of AI time was 40.0% in cows with low progesterone concentrations (less than 1.0 ng/ml), and 56.6% in cows with high progesterone concentrations (more than 1.0 ng/ml) at CIDR injection. The conception rate regardless of progesterone concentrations was 53.8% in cows inseminated based on detected estrus, and 38.0% in cows of TAI after removal of CIDR. The conception rate regardless of AI time was 43.3% in cows with small follicle (less than 5 mm), 53.3% in cows between 5 mm to 10 mm of follicle, and 63.3% in cows with large folliclc (more than 10 mm) at CIDR injection, respectively. The conception rate regardless of follicle size was 58.4% in cows inseminated based on detected estrus, and 45.9% in cows of TAI after removal of CIDR. These results indicated that if the cows with BCS 2.75 to 3.25, active corpus luteum, and/or large dominant follicle (more than 10 mm) are used for estrus induction, the conception rate will be greater.

The conception rate regardless of AI time was 36.0% in cows with small dominant follicles (less than 5 mm), 56.0% in cows between 5 mm to 10 mm of follicle size, and 65.5% in cows with large dominant follicles (more than 10 mm) at injection, respectively. The conception rate regardless of follicle size was 57.3% in cows inseminated based on detected estrus, and 47.6% in cows of TAI after injection. These results indicated that if the cows with BCS 2.75 to 3.25, active corpus luteum, and/or large dominant follicle (more than 10 mm) are used for estrus induction, the conception rate will be greater.

        A highly porous Biphasic Calcium Phosphate (BCP) scaffold was fabricated by the sponge replica method with a microwave sintering technique. The BCP scaffold had interconnected pores ranging from 80 μm to 1000 μm, which were similar to natural cancellous bone. To enhance the mechanical properties of the porous scaffold, infiltration of polycaprolactone (PCL) was employed. The microstructure of the BCP scaffold was optimized using various volume percentages of polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) for the infiltration process. PCL successfully infiltrated into the hollow space of the strut formed after the removal of the polymer sponge throughout the degassing and high pressure steps. The microstructure and material properties of the BCP scaffold (i.e., pore size, morphology of infiltrated and coated PCL, compressive strength, and porosity) were evaluated. When a 30 vol% of PMMA was used, the PCL-BCP scaffold showed the highest compressive strength. The compressive strength values of the BCP and PCL-BCP scaffolds were approximately 1.3 and 2MPa, respectively. After the PCL infiltration process, the porosity of the PCL-BCP scaffold decreased slightly to 86%, whereas that of the BCP scaffold was 86%. The number of pores in the 10 μm to 20 μm rage, which represent the pore channel inside of the strut, significantly decreased. The in-vitro study confirmed that the PCL-infiltrated BCP scaffold showed comparable cell viability without any cytotoxic behavior.

        고준위폐기물 처분장의 기본적인 기능은 단기간에 과도한 방사성핵종이 유출되는 것을 방지하는데 있다. 이를 위해서는, 처분시스템의 구성요소들과 관련된 많은 기술 기준이 개발되고 수립되어야 한다. 처분장 안전성평가는 합리적으로 단순화된 모델에 바탕을 두고 처분장의 미래 전개에 대한 정량적인 결과를 산출하므로 안전성평가는 기술기준의 하나로 간주되고 있다. 본문에서는 평가기간, 선량 제한치 및 평가의 불확실성 등을 중심으로 안전성평가와 관련된 주요국의 기술기준을 조사하였다. 특히, 미국의 기준을 조사하는 과정에서 안전성평가에서 도출된 peak dose가 선량 제한치를 충족하지 못하는 경우, 평가기간 및 peak dose에 대한 미국 규제당국의 접근방안은 참고할만한 가치가 있음을 알 수 있었다.

        본 논문에서는 우리 생활 깊숙이 파고들어 새로운 커뮤니케이션의 도구로 활용되고 있는 인스턴트 메신저의 이용 동기와 이용에 따른 충족, 그리고 인스턴트 메신저를 통한 텍스트의 교환이 타인(상대방)에 대한 지각에 어떠한 영향을 미치는 지 사회적 현존감(a sense of being together)라는 개념을 이용해 살펴보고자 하였다. 미국 대학생들을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시한 결과 대학생들은 인스턴트 메신저를 사회적 상호 작용성, 심리적 안정성, 편리성, 오락 및 휴식, 정보 추구 등의 충족을 얻기 위해 사용하고 있으며, 채팅 상대방과 함께 있다고 느끼는 사회적 현존감의 경험은 이용 동기, 이용 만족에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 조사되었다. 특히 사회적 현존감의 경험 정도에 따라서 메신저 이용의 충족 정도가 달라짐으로써 사회적 현존감이 인스턴트 메신저 이용에 있어서 중요한 매개 변인으로서 기능하고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 또한 이러한 사회적 현존감의 차이는 성별에 따라 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다.

        현재 방송 영화 기록물은 수집 관리 체계가 미흡하여 망실의 위험이 상존하고 있다. 또한 수집 관리 기관의 이해관계에 따라 국가 기록물의 접근이 폐쇄적이다. 따라서 영구보존 가치를 지닌 방송프로그램 영화 기록정보 수집관리를 체계화하여, 국가의 역사 문화 기록유산으로 보존 및 활용을 위한 중장기 계획을 수립하여 추진하여야 할 것이다. 본 연구는 선진 국가의 방송 영화 기록물 체계를 비교 분석하여 우리나라 기록물 수집 관리 제도의 문제점을 도출하고 개선 방안을 제시하고자 한다. 연구결과, 방송프로그램의 경우 프랑스와 미국 등은 방송프로그램에 대한 법적 의무납본 및 자발적 납본을 채택하고 전문적인 공공방송영상아카이브를 운영, 안정적으로 수집 관리하고 있다. 영화의 경우엔, 거의 모든 선진 외국이 의무 납본제를 통해 체계적으로 관리하고 있다. 이에 우리나라에서도 총괄 관리 기능을 수행할 독립적인 성격의 국립 방송 영화 아카이브 설립될 필요가 있으며 안정적인 방송영화 기록물의 수집을 위해 의무 납본제를 실시하여 국가기록물의 멸실을 방지해야 할 것이다. 이를 위해서는 법, 제도의 개정이 필수적으로 이루어져야 할 것이다.

        The 15,389-bp long complete mitogenome of the endangered red-spotted apollo butterfly, Parnassius bremeri (Lepidoptera: Papilionidae) was determined. This genome has a gene arrangement identical to those of all other sequenced lepidopteran insects, which have the gene order of tRNAMet, tRNAIle, and tRNAGln at the beginning. Due to the uncertainty the start codon for COI gene in insect has been discussed extensively. We propose the CGA sequence as the start codon for COI gene in lepidopteran insects, based on complete mitogenome sequences of lepidopteran insects including our P. bremerii and additional sequences of the COI start region from a diverse taxonomic range of lepidopteran species (a total of 51 species belonging to 15 families). As has been suggested in other sequenced lepidopteran insects the 18 bp-long poly-T stretch and the downstream conserved motif ATAGA that were previously suggested to serve as a structural signal for minor-strand mtDNA replication also was found at the 3’-end region of the P. bremerii A+T-rich region. In an extensive search to find out tRNA-like structure in the A+T-rich region, each one tRNATrp-like sequence and tRNALeu (UUR)-like sequence were found in the P. bremeri A+T-rich region, and most of other sequenced lepidopteran insects were shown to have tRNA-like structure within the A+T-rich region, thereby indicating that such feature is frequent in the lepidopteran A+T-rich region. Phylogenetic analysis using the concatenated 13 amino acid sequences and nucleotide sequences of PCGs of the four macrolepidopteran suferfamilies together with Tortricoidea and Pyraloidea well recovered a monophyly of Papilionoidea and a monophyly of Bombycoidea. However, Geometroidea and Noctuoidea were unexpectedly clustered as one group and placed this group to the sister group to Bombycoidea, instead of Papilionoidea in most analyses.

        The 15,338-bp long complete mitochondrial genome (mitogenome) of the Japanese oak silkmoth, Antheraeayamamai (Lepidoptera: Saturniidae) was determined. This genome has a gene arrangement identical to those of all other sequenced lepidopteran insects, but differs from the most common type, as the result of the movement of tRNAMet to a position 5’-upstream of tRNAIle. No typical start codon of the A. yamamai COI gene is available. Instead, a tetranucleotide, TTAG, which is found at the beginning context of all sequenced lepidopteran insects was tentatively designated as the start codon for A. yamamai COI gene. Three of the 13 protein-coding genes (PCGs) harbor the incomplete termination codon, T or TA. All tRNAs formed stable stem-and-loop structures, with the exception of tRNASer(AGN), the DHU arm of which formed a simple loop as has been observed in many other metazoan mt tRNASer(AGN). The 334-bp long A+T-rich region is noteworthy in that it harbors tRNA-likestructures, as has also been seen in the A+T-rich regions of other insect mitogenomes. Phylogenetic analyses of the available species of Bombycoidea, Pyraloidea, and Tortricidea bolstered the current morphology-based hypothesis that Bombycoidea and Pyraloidea are monophyletic (Obtectomera). As has been previously suggested, Bombycidae (Bombyxmori and B.mandarina) and Saturniidae (A.yamamai and Caligula boisduvalii) formed a reciprocal monophyletic group.

        In this study, we determined the complete mitochondrial genome of the jewel beetle, Chrysochroa fulgidissima (Coleoptera: Buprestidae), from four overlapping fragments. The 15,592-bp long C. fulgidissima mitogenome exhibits a gene arrangement and content identical to the most common type in insects. The start codon of the C. fulgidissima COI gene is unusual, in that no typical ATN codon is available. The 875-bp A+T-rich region is the shortest among the coleopteran mitogenomes that have thus far been sequenced in their entirety. The most unusual feature of the genome is the presence of three tRNA-like sequences within the A+T-rich region: two tRNALeu(UUR)-like sequences and one tRNAAsnlike sequence. These sequence stretches evidence the proper anticodon sequence and the potential to form secondary structures, but also harbor many mismatches in the stems. Phylogenetic analysis using a concatenation of 13 amino acid sequences of protein-coding genes among the available sequenced species of coleopteran superfamilies (Buprestoidea and Elateroidea belonging to the infraorder Elateriformnia, and Chrysomeloidea and Tenebrioroidea belonging to the infraorder Cucujoiformia) by Bayesian inference, maximum-parsimony analyses, and maximum-likelihood analysis unexpectedly revealed a lack of support for monophyletic Elateriformia.

        Building on the readings of Yeats’s esoteric poems, essays, and A Vision, I poses to rethink the ethical dimensions of his occultism, more specifically his reflection on an encounter with the transcendental beings. The need for rearticulation of the role of the ethical, that is the relation to the other gains urgency because the transcendental beings are by nature obscure, indistinct, and indefinite. They resist too much clarification and determination that may reduce their complicated and irreducible beings to distinct concepts. The difficulty, therefore, lies in the question of how Yeats could present the beings in a manner as precise, proper, and rigorous as possible and at the same time he could respect and honor the mode in which the beings conceals themselves in the mystery, by letting them be the mystery that they are. A Vision was the culmination of Yeats’s lifelong wish to relate the divinity of the supernational beings to the human soul. In order not to present God as a personal deity, Yeats says only about the nearest equivalent his system offers to God, the gnomically-named Thirteenth Cone. The Cone is actually a sphere because sufficient to itself, but as seen by man it is a cone. It is more a symbol of the human relationship to the ultimate being than a symbol of that ultimate itself. Otherwise unknowable, the supernatural beings could be evoked by symbols. The symbol's job for Yeats therefore is not, first and foremost, cognition, in the sense of understanding, calculation, and definition, but instead bringing what is other for language and thought into the openness of its alterity and maintaining this alterity against the power of cognitive assimilation. Yeats lets the symbols work up the mind to evoke the world of the supernatural beings, which will remain unknown to those who relay on the evidence of their senses. “The Cold Heaven” gives a good illustration of the human relation to the supernational beings, for it combines Yeats's own personal history with his supernatural vision. Staring at a winter sky, he desperately looks back at where his life has gone, gathering together in a passionate fusion the lacerating memory of his failure with Gonne and his themes of death, ghosts and dreams. Supernatural Songs shows how Ribh's ecstasy in an encounter with the supernatural being not only arises from the contemplation of things vaster than the individual and imperfectly seen but also escapes from the barrenness and shallowness of a too conscious arrangement. "The Spirit Medium" well exemplifies the phenomenon of permeable structure inhabiting different regions of reality simultaneously so that the world of the supernatural being and that of the individual, inside and outside, one side and the other, subject and the other, appear as correlated and overlapped as equal parts of the inhuman symbolic spirit medium.

        본 연구는 순수 면내모멘트를 발생시키는 선형적으로 변하는 수직응력을 받고 있는 단순지지된 마주보는 두 모서리와 자유경계를 가지는 직사각형 판의 자유진동과 좌굴의 엄밀해를 구하였다. 정현적으로 가정된 하중방향(x)으로의 변위함수는 단순지지 경계조건을 만족시키며, 평판을 지배하는 편미분 운동방정식 을 y 방향으로의 변계수를 갖는 상미분방정식으로 만든다. Frobenius법을 통하여, y방향으로의 멱급수를 가정하면 이 식을 엄밀하게 풀 수 있으며, 그 식의 합당한 계수를 구할 수 있다. 자유경계조건을 y=0과 b에 적용하면, 고유진동수와 임계좌굴모멘트를 구할 수 있는 4차의 특성행렬식이 만들어진다. 본 논문에서는 이 급수해의 수렴성이 면밀히 조사되었으며, 임계 좌굴모멘트의 수치결과와 모드형상이 주어진다. 상대적으로 정확도가 떨어지는 1차원적인 보 이론으로 구한 결과치와의 비교연구가 이루어진다. 또한 자유진동수와 모드형상 주어진다. 프와송비(v)의 변화에 따른 좌굴모멘트와 고유진동수의 변화가 도표로 주어진다.

        제7차 교육과정에 따라서 집필된 지구과학 I, II 교과서와 국내외 각종 지구과학 교재의 지질 연대 자료를 검토하였다. 지구과학 I, II 교과서의 자료는 대부분 최신의 자료가 아니며, 많은 자료들은 지질학 원론과 지구과학 개론 등의 국내 대학 교재에 제시된 수 십년 전의 자료를 그대로 따랐다. 또한 외국 대학의 지구과학 또는 지질학 개론서의 경우에서도 유사하게 수 십년 전의 자료를 제시하고 있다. 최근 국제 층서 위원회(ICS)에 의하여 연구 제시된 국제 층서 챠트(ICS 2000), 국제 지질 연대표(IGTS 2003) 및 지질 연대표(GTS 2004) 등의 많은 새로운 자료들이 제시되어 있다. 새로운 자료 중에서 중요한 것들에는 신생대의 고제3기와 신제3기, 석탄기의 미시시피아세와 펜실베니아세, 원생이언의 고원생대, 중원생대 및 신원생대 그리고 시생이언의 시시생대, 고시생대, 중시생대 및 신시생대를 들 수 있다. 이들 새로운 지질 연대 자료는 새로운 지구과학 교과서 집필시 인용되어야 할 것이다.

        Nowhere is the agenda for the inter religious dialogue more pressing than with the adherents of the two largest religious communities, Christians and Muslims. Together, these two communities encompass nearly half of the world’s population. In attempting to discuss the present dialogic relationship between Islam and Christianity, there are at least two major levels. The first level is that of the politico religious discussions and their acceleration in various countries. On the more traditional second level are the actual attempts at a religious/theological dialogue between representative Christians and Muslims. The second level is the primary focus of this study, which focuses on the Qur’anic teaching regarding relationship with the people of other faiths. One of the most influential factors which affect Muslim Christian relations is the Quran. Since the Quran is central in determining Muslim attitudes, it is important to know what the Quran says about other faiths, Christianity in particular for the Christian Muslim dialogue. As many contemporary Quranic commentators argue, Quran maintains that the universal faith in God encompasses, but at the same time transcends, all religions. In this framework of the universality of faith within a great diversity of religions, the Quran calls upon faithful Christians and Muslims to live in amity and engage in a genuine dialogue of faith. It is true that the Qur’an declares the Muslim community to be the best that has been raised up for humankind, as they enjoin the doing of what is right and forbid the doing of what is wrong in the context of faith in God(3:110). It is also true that the Qur’an declares God has willed Muslims to be com-munity of the middle way so that they might bear witness before human-kind(2:143to live in amity and engage in a genuine dialogue of faith Furthermore, the Qur’an has specifically prescribed kindness and tact and gracious manners for Muslims when dealing with people of other faiths. The Qur’an, the foundation on which the religion of Islam is based, expresses in a number of ways a fundamental tolerance of earlier religions whose faith, like that of Islam, centers on the one and only God. It can be said, in this regard, that one of the doctrinal principles enunciated in the Qur’an is that of religious tolerance. I believe that we have in this doctrinal principle the basis for interfaith dialogue and cooperation which has the potential for leading us to a better world in this religious pluralistic world.
