Moth flies (Diptera: Psychodidae) are small fuzzy flies found in diverse habitats from mountains to urban areas, even in your house. Approximately 3,000 species among 6 subfamilies are recorded worldwide. However, in Korea, only 10 species from 3 genera of the subfamily Psychodinae have been recorded, including 8 species from North Korea. A preliminary study on moth flies in Korea was conducted using specimens collected via malaise traps and by hands from various locations in South Korea. As a result, Brunettia lungjingensis, Thornburghiella decoricornis, Philosepedon monstruosus and our friendly but unrecorded, Clogmia albipunctata are newly described in Korea. Brief descriptions, photographs, and illustrations of these four species are provided.

본 연구에서는 분리막 생물반응기(membrane bioreactor, MBR)에서 발생되는 생물막오염 완화에 탁월한 효과를 가진 분리막을 개발할 목적으로, 친수성 산소 기능기가 많은 탄소나노구체(carbon nanosphere, CNS)를 합성한 뒤, 이를 첨가 제로 활용하여 친수성과 다공성 기공 구조를 갖는 고성능 한외여과막을 제조하였다. CNS는 막 표면에 초승달 모양의 기공을 형성하였고, CNS 함량을 4.6 wt%까지 증가시킴에 따라 최대기공 크기보다 큰 결함을 야기하지 않으면서 평균 표면 기공 크 기를 약 40% 증가시키는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, CNS 복합막의 다공성 기공 구조는 CNS의 등방성 형태와 상대적으로 낮은 입자 수밀도 덕분에 CNS 첨가에 따른 고분자 용액의 점도 급등이 방지됐기 때문이라고 판단된다. 그러나 너무 다공성이 커 지게 되면 기계적 물성이 저하되므로, 기공구조와 기계적 성질을 포함한 종합적인 고려를 했을 때 CNS2.3이 가장 우수하다 고 관측되었다. CNS2.3은 CNS0에 비해 수투과도가 2배 이상 높을 뿐만 아니라, MBR 공정에서 분리막 세정이 요구될 때까 지의 운전 시간도 5배 이상 연장시킨 것으로 확인되었다.

This study examines how service innovation influences consumers’ perceived service luxuriousness and willingness to pay more. Service innovation influences willingness to pay more when service luxuriousness mediates. Type of service (functional vs. emotional) and level of brand equity (high vs. low) moderate the relationship between service innovation and service luxuriousness.

This study examines the impact of others' reviews (reviews, product ratings) on consumer responses (helpfulness & buying intention) in an online shopping platform. We propose that review features, such as review message construal and review inconsistency between review message valence and rating, determine review credibility as product-related information, which in turn influences helpfulness of review and buying intention toward the product. Specifically, low- level construal review messages will be perceived as more credible than high-level construal review messages, which affect helpfulness and buying intention. In addition, the effect of review message construal will be moderated by review inconsistency. The effect of the review message construal will be enhanced in the condition of review consistency (positive content-high rating & negative content-low rating), but it will be disappeared or attenuated in the condition of inconsistency (positive content-low rating, negative content-high rating).

Sustainability rears its head in the current online marketing and virtual store -research. Sustainability considerations involve pro-environmental-, social- and economic values as well as future generations and continuous innovation (Hanss and Böhm, 2012). Central in the sustainability research is sustainable consumer behavior, which has been found to be subject of intensions varying across different types of consumers, issues, and product categories (O’Rourke and Ringer, 2016). Determining consumers’ general egoistic, altruistic and biospheric values (e.g., De Groot and Steg 2008; Steg et al., 2014) have resulted quite complex and not always so generalizable structural models for sustainable behavior. While value -research has been dominant in determining the sustainability intensions and eventual behavior, there are relatively little solid theories and understating about different psychological processes behind sustainable behavior. Furthermore, the consideration of multiple sustainable consumer behavior outcomes seems to be limited, which can also hamper the development of models and theories (see e.g., Hulland and Houston 2021).

Considering the popularity of virtual influencer (VI) marketing while its effectiveness remains fully unexplored, there is a need of academic attention testing consumer responses to VIs in comparison with human influencer marketing. Hence, this study aims to fill this gap by comparing consumers’ perceptions of a human versus virtual influencer’s endorsement. Specifically, based on the construal level theory and psychological reactance, this study investigates how consumers differently evaluate human and virtual influencers’ endorsement motives, which may further influence their attitudes toward a brand, advertising (i.e., endorsement), and an influencer and purchase intentions. Additionally, the moderating role of the number of endorsements (single vs. multiple) and perceived innovativeness are examined.

In Korea, cherry blossoms are a symbol of beauty and purity, displaying the ideals of peace and healing. A world without the threat of weapons seems unreachable in times like these, where countries are afraid and swayed by power politics. But just as the planting of a few cherry trees decades later became symbolic of the peace and healing that would arrive at the end of the worst wars in history, we can begin the process of building a more peaceful tomorrow. Peace and reunification between North and South Korea can follow the example of unification of East and West Germany without the development of nuclear weapons. If we each do what we can to stand against injustice and move forward together, we may finally realize the dream of a future when the reunification of North and South Korea also serves as a lasting example of peace.

본 연구는 한국 여성 국회의원들이 외교 안보 이슈와 관련한 호명 투 표에 있어서 남성 의원들과 다른 투표 행태를 보이는가에 관한 질문을 규명하고자 한다. 젠더가 의회 정치의 행태에서 어떤 영향을 미치는가의 연구는 지속해서 증가하고 있으나 대부분의 연구는 서구 민주주의 국가 를 중심으로 이루어져 왔다. 본 연구는 16대와 17대 국회 회기 당시 이 라크 전쟁, 아프가니스탄 전쟁 파병안 찬성 여부의 호명 투표의 행태에 초점을 맞춘다. 정량적 연구 결과 한국 여성의원들은 남성 동료들과 비 교하면 파병안에 찬성하는 확률이 낮은 점을 발견했다. 또한 여당 여성 의원들의 경우 이전 선거에서의 득표율이 높을수록, 선거 선수가 높을수 록 파병안에 찬성하는 확률이 줄어든다는 점을 발견했다. 이를 통해 본 연구는 그동안 정량적 연구가 부족했던 한국 국회에서의 여성의원들의 투표 행태의 요인에 대한 이해를 높이고자 한다.

People differ greatly in their capacity to persist in the face of challenges. Despite significant research, relatively little is known about cognitive factors that might be involved in perseverance. Building upon human threat-management mechanism, we predicted that perseverant people would be characterized by reduced sensitivity (i.e., longer detection latency) to threat cues. Our data from 5,898 job applicants showed that highly perseverant individuals required more time to correctly identify anger in faces, regardless of stimulus type (dynamic or static computer-morphed faces). Such individual differences were not observed in response to other facial expressions (happiness, sadness), and the effect was independent of gender, dispositional anxiety, or conscientiousness. Discussions were centered on the potential role of threat sensitivity in effortful pursuit of goals.

After President Biden’s first year in office, one big question is whether the Biden trade policy differs from the Trump chaos. My answer is no. I consider Biden’s trade policy to be Trump without the tweets. They both relied on unilateral measures and broadened protectionist ones. In fact, Biden not only relies upon Trump’s actions but also has expanded them. Trade policies have not changed much between Presidents Trump and Biden. In fact, Biden, relying upon Trump’s actions, has kept them in place. There has been a slight change in tune: a little more reconciliation with Europe and the OECD. However, it is extremely difficult to identify any significant difference concerning China, Russia, and Iran. Has Trump’s America First policy morphed into Biden’s America First or worker-centric trade policy? It looks that way. Let’s look at what Trump did, what Biden has done so far, and the challenges ahead.

여성 지도자들은 남성중심적 문화가 지배적인 정치영역에서 영향력을 확보하기 위하여 많은 노력을 기울여 왔으며, 여전히 부족한 수준이긴 하나 오늘날 여성의 정치적 대표성은 세계적으로 점증하고 있는 추세에 있다, 그럼에도 불구하고 2016년 한국과 브라질에서 여성 대통령 탄핵 사태를 중심으로 불거진 일련의 젠더 관련 이슈는 정치권에서 또 다른 성차별 논란을 촉발시켰다. 대통령으로서의 정치적 실정에 대한 비판보다는 성차별적 비난으로 가득했던 양국의 탄핵 과정을 어떻게 설명할 수 있을까? 본 연구는 Glick과 Fiske (1996)가 제시한 양가적 성차별주의 (ambivalent sexism) 개념을 분석틀로 활용함으로써 한국과 브라질 여성 대통령의 탄핵을 둘러싼 정치적 과정 속에서 양가적 성차별주의가 어떻게 만연했는지 비판적으로 검토한다. 궁극적으로 본 고는 양가적 성차별주의의 전형적인 특징이 양국 여성대통령의 탄핵 과정에서 현저하게 두드러졌으며 여성에 대한 차별은 여전히 여성의 정치적 리더십을 방해하고 전통적인 남성 중심의 성 역할을 강화하는 방식으로 오늘날 사회에 상존하고 있음을 주장한다.

본 연구의 목적은 성범죄를 재범한 자들이 재범에 이르게 된 원인과 이를 고착시킨 성장 과정을 알아보고 재범과정 및 이 과정에서 겪는 정서와 사고의 변화 등, 성범죄 재범자들의 경험을 심층적으로 이해하고자 하는 것이다. 이를 위하여 성범죄로 유죄 선고를 3회 이상 받은 총 5명의 성범죄 재범자들을 대상으로 심층 면담하였고, 질적 사례연구의 방법을 사용하여 주제분석을 실시하였다. 분석결과 성범죄 재범자들은 성장과정에서 열악한 가정환경과 일탈적 환경으로 부적응과 일탈을 겪고, 이런 과정에서 강한 애정욕구를 가졌던 반면, 친밀한 관계능력의 부족으로 이성관계의 어려움을 겪으며 살아왔다. 또한, 어린 시절 성폭력 피해나 가해를 직･간접적으로 겪으며 성적 각성과 함께 내적 갈등 속에서 성범죄에 대한 인식 없이, 호기심과 성적 자극 속에 가해자가 되는 것을 볼 수 있었다. 즉 성적 트라우마를 겪은 피해자에서 성폭력 가해자가 되었다. 친밀감 부재와 감각적인 성적 만남의 결과는 이성관계에 대해 쉽게 싫증 을 내게 하며, 더욱 감각적 성관계에 심취하게 하였다. 강한 성적 욕구로 충동조절에 어려움을 겪으며, 일반적이지 않은 성적 일탈과 환상을 가지는 등 성중독의 특성을 보였다. 어린 나이에 겪은 비정상적인 성 경험, 문란하고 강압적이고 감각적인 성욕구 해소는 성통념과 성인지 왜곡을 강화시켜 성폭력에 대한 범죄 인식을 결여시키는 것으로 나타났다. 폭력과 무관심 등 애정결핍과 가혹한 가정환경, 비정상적이고 일탈적이고 감각적인 성 경험은 애정결핍을 강화시켜 성에 더욱 고착되게 하는 것으로 보인다. 이러한 연구결과를 토대로 이들에게 깊이 내재해 있는 관심과 애정에 대한 욕구를 해소하는 것이 중요하며, 집단 치료프로그램과 함께 성범죄 재범자에게 맞는 개인 심리치료와 성폭력 피해와 가해 경험에 대한 외상을 집중적으로 다루는 치료적 접근, 그 리고 성중독에 대한 치료의 필요성을 제언하였다.
