광양만에서 동물플랑크톤의 계절변동을 2001 6월부터 2003년 6월까지 격월로 조사하였다. 동물플랑크톤은 조사해역의 9개 정점에서 망목 3000μg인 NORPAC 네트를 이용하여 수평채집하였다. 조사기간 동안 동물플랑크톤은 47종류가 출현하였으며 평균 출현량은 6,205 inds. m-3이었다. 월별 출현량은 2002년 6월에 최대 26,060 inds. m-3에서 2001년 8월에 최소 630 inds. m-3사
