본 연구는 교육과정의 개혁과 수업의 개선에 교사의 개인적인 노력과 변화와 더불어 학생들의 학습문화의 변화가 필요하다고 보고 중등학교 학생들의 학습문화에 대하여 시론적 논의를 한다. 한편, 문화마다 생활양식이 다르듯이 학습문화에 대한 비교문화연구를 함으로써 독특한 학습문화의 가치를 인식함과 더불어 그 차이를 연구하여 학습문화에 대한 성찰의 계기를 마련하려고 한다. 학습문화는 그 범위가 매우 광범위한 영역과 분석수준을 포함하고 있으므로 단편적 이해에 이르기 쉬우므로 학습문화를 “실천양식으로 학습문화”로서 연구의 초점을 둠으로써 얻을 수 있는 연구 수행의 이점을 밝힌다. 그리고 선행연구에서 방법론적 검토를 하여 “실천양식으로 학습문화”에 적절하고 심층적 이해의 방법론으로서 내러티브 탐구를 제시한다.

This article aims to offer a Narrative inquiry into the learning culture of a secondary school’s students for effective curricular practice and reform. As if the life style in each culture is quite different, the learning culture in each culture will be different. By means of recognizing their own learning culture on international comparative study, this study will provide an opportunity for reflection about each learning culture. However, students' learning experience and learning culture have such a broad range. So it is hard to understand them correctly, and therefore, it's easy to be misunderstood. Accordingly, it requires effective focus of the research and this article defines the object of study, 'learning culture', as the practical method which includes studying style and appears on the process of acquiring learning contents during students' learning. And
after examining the previous studies, this article presents Narrative inquiry by means of the appropriate method for this kind of learning culture.
